How Many Discs, Do You Think GTA 5 Will Be?

Well, I was just wondering. Since 2008, there's been quite a lot of improvements within games textures are at a higher resolution and there's more of them and so on. But, how many Discs do you think the X360 version will be? I mean, wasn't LA Noire 3-4, plus it nearly took up a whole Blueray disc. I wouldn't be surprised if GTA 5 was the same as LA noire or larger.

Not to worry for me, Download it off Steam and let it rest on my SSD; then load it up, no need to worry about Discs.

Also, what are your opinions on Multiple Discs?

1 Blu-Ray disk for PS3 version.. And 3 DVDs for xbox 360 version (1 DVD is for multiplayer). One thing is for sure.. GTA V WILL be on multiple disks (xbox 360) but i dont know how many exactly

Just keep in mind that the only reason why LA Noire was 3 discs was because of the motion scan technology.

That being said;

GTA V will be 1 disc for PS3 (yay me!), 2 for Xbox, and 2 for PC.

Not sure as of right at this very moment but I believe that grand theft auto 5 will indeed have one blu-ray disc for PS3 and 3 dvd for PC and the 360.

I am assuming here that PC will use Blu-Ray

If it is optimised and fully uses the PC capabilities, it might be 2 disc for PC

If it is another sh*tty Console Port then f*** knows - might be 10 tounge.gif

I guess I will just start copy/pasting my post over from each ignorant disc space topic to the next. I can't be bothered to write something new every time...

As I ask in every ridiculous topic like this, why would the game need to be on more than one disc? All these topics contain are one misinformed person after another rambling on about disc space. For the millionth time, L.A. Noire was on three discs due to the MotionScan facial animation technology, which GTA V is clearly not using. All three discs contained the entire map of Los Angeles. The map is not what takes up the space, and obviously Rockstar would never split the map onto more than one disc because it would completely ruin the game.

And for the millionth time I must point out the example of Skyrim. As you should know, Skyrim is an absolutely MASSIVE and detailed game world with hundreds of hours of content - more than any GTA game. How much space does Skyrim take up?

3.8 GB

That is less than half the capacity of the 360's DVD disc format. If Skyrim can fit into 3.8 GB of space, then I see no reason why GTA V cannot. Many of the games that take up tons of space fill it with pre-rendered HD cutscenes and the like. As any GTA fan should know, the series' cutscenes are in-engine and not pre-rendered. GTA V will all but likely be on one disc, just like GTA IV and RDR.

I was just about to say something like this, but you beat me to it smile.gif. I really am getting tired of seeing hundreds of these identical "how many disc threads".

And also:

1 for PS3

3 DVD for PC

1 Blu-Ray for PC

14 for s**tbox360

What is your problem?

Hopefully one for the PS3, but I can make do with two discs, if one is for single player and if one is for online multiplayer.

THANK U! i am so sick of seeing these PS3 gamers get all high and mighty coz of the PS3 disc capacity.. when its not even the case in this situation... Battlefield needs 2 discs coz of the giant maps and all the action etc and the HD.... In GTA the entire map isnt active at the same time... 90% of the map is asleep... with only the area u are currently in being active with stuff happening

1 BD on PS3, 3~4 DVD DL on PC.

And 1 BD on the next xbox ? tounge.gif

I don't think GTA V will be released on xbox360, but amazon said yes

Okay, you don't think that GTA V will release on the Xbox360...

Let me ask you, how exactly have the been programming the game then? You know the will release for PC, Xbox(360), and the PS3(4 if you think it won't be on the 360) they have to program the games from the hardware. How exactly do you build a game based on hardware that isn't available? (This is assuming they have been working on V for 2-4 years and not just starting now)

OT:

I don't know how discs it will be, but... It might look something like this.

PS3 - 1 BrD

PC - 2-3 disc / 1 BrD

Xbox - 2 disc

I would like the Xbox version to be like this.

Disc 1 - The map (IF LV and SF are in as well.) and Multiplayer

Disc 2 - Would have the story, side missions, all other good stuff. and would be the Install Disc.
