visionist Posted February 10, 2012 Share Posted February 10, 2012 Haven't seen a similar topic in a while, so I had this idea: many people want an option to own your own car in V, one that always appears on the radar and re-spawns if destroyed. The general consensus is that such a car should be bought from a dealer, not stolen, as this will let the game engine differentiate it from the many cars we GTA. My idea is; in real life, the top end cars not only give you a wider range of standard paint & leather colours, trim options etc, but they also let you choose anything you want, for extra. Even higher than that, for a lot of money, you can bring a sample of paint, wood etc, and they will replicate it for you. Imagine having this option in the game! It would only work if an inventory similar to RDR is implemented, plus of course the ability to pick up random objects. Say you grabbed a guitar with a cool grain pattern and after smashing it over someone's head, are left with a shard. Take it to the Benefactor dealer and get that same wood pattern in your new Schafter! MGS4 already did a similar material replication trick with Octocamo, so it is possible. MGS4 uses this mechanic for alot of the game, but i dont see R* implementing it without having any further use for it other than to customize car color. Skyline_Mad Posted February 10, 2012 Share Posted February 10, 2012 Yea it would be cool if you could buy a car that would be at your house permanently even if it gets destroyed, it would give me more reason to use my fav car more often, not having to worry about loosing it if i drive it off a cliff lol, and getting the right options when buying it, like the trim, colour and wheels. If you want to change "your" car, you could sell it and get a new one that would become your permanent car. Maybe if there are multiple safe houses you could buy 1 car per house (maybe even more that 1 car for some mansions lol), One think that could be handy aswell, is being able to store other cars at your house, (like GTAIV where the cars stay in the space outside), so you are not just limited to the one you have bought. On topic: I couldn't care more or less about customization, but I'd prefer if they had it, but as choice and your not forced into it, just to keep others happy. I also like the OP's ideas.
