spreilly
When I start up GTA IV, it makes it to the loading screen for the game (after the menu). While loading (10-20 seconds), the game crashes, giving me this: Description: Critical runtime problem Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPLICATION CRASH System RAM: 1073741823 Available RAM: 1073741823 Number of CPUs: 8 Video Card Manufacturer: unknown Video Card Description: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560ti Video Card Driver Version: 8.17.0012.7061 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 NOTE: As I am not at my GTA PC right now, the information above is similar, not exactly the same on my PC. I have 8GB RAM, GTX 560ti, i7 2600k processor, 750W PSU. I also have the latest version of GFWL, and GTAIV version 1.0.7.0. This game has worked with my PC before (with Xliveless, but I'd like to play multiplayer. If I can't, then I won't pout ). And when I do place Xliveless, I get the dreaded APPCRASH error which calls the GTAIV.exe application at fault. I do have some mods installed, all of which worked on my installation of GTA IV: A few car mods (Prius, NYPD Impala, Dodge Charger) LCPDFR ELS ASI Loader (dsound.dll) Are the mods at fault? If so, would a reinstall fix it (redundant, right)? Is there any way to have GFWL AND mods?
Girish
You'll have to get rid of the mods and try the game from scratch without any mods. Also, install the GFWL update from here - http://www.rockstargames.com/support/IV/PC/GFWLupdate/ For modding related queries, you'll have to ask in the modding forums. spreilly
I already installed the GFWL update. Oh well.
mkey82
You need to uninstall the game, delete the install folder manually, install both updates GFWL update Patch 7 and then try again. Also, try posting the exact error messages you get, not similar ones.
