thefarcry118
Ever since GTA III came out, R* has been changing the way we play Video games and more importantly the word, challenging stereotypes and political stereotypes in every game, found the article kinda neat and I was just wondering how much GTA has done for Gaming. As quoted in the Article, it's now "Cool to play Video Games" - Personally, I think most of this is due to one fact. GTA. Comments, anyone? http://gta5news.com/how-gta-is-changing-the-face-of-gaming
Zee
It's still not really considered "cool" to play cvideo games in this day and age. Profitable to companies maybe, but not "cool" in a James Dean way.

Profitable to companies maybe, but not "cool" in a James Dean way. I disagree, I think we've come along way when the typical stereotype was a kid sitting in his Mums basement in the dark, playing Violent games such as CS 1.6. Even, if you don't think it's "cool" - it's a come one hell of way since them and as time goes on, we'll see Video games becoming more mainstream, with help from SmartPhone devlopment, which is the new frontier for Developers alike, including R*. Coral_City
Bro, you didn't find the article. You're promoting your website. Also, it's a terribly written article.
thefarcry118
@thefarcry118 I see that your'e new. Whale-cum to GTAForums. On topic: I agree with your statement, GTA has changed videos games in a positive way. Yes, I'm new. I needed to find "my home" on the Internet and I think I found it. I've always liked this kind of forum. Anyway, I own GTA5NEWS.COM, So when I have more information I'll post it straight on here, but I guess you don't care about that. Yes, I think it's changed Gaming for the better, Now Devlopers are pushed to think of more interesting and unique game Mechanics and I hope we'll see some new ones in GTA 5. Bro, you didn't find the article. You're promoting your website. Also, it's a terribly written article Bro, I'm not promoting my article at all. The Links are all Rel=nofollow on here already, secondly I don't really care about the Traffic- most of it is non targeted anyway. Why, do you think it's poorly written? I appreciate the feedback, it's always good to learn from your mistakes and trust me I'm alway learning on the Internet and I think everyone should too. Pick out, something you think is "poorly written." Thanks. But in all seriousness, I really do like feedback positive nor negative, it helps me to improve my writing skills. thatstupidbug
Playing a fun -but-mindless ipad/WII/Kinekt game ? cool, and everyone wants to play with you playing a more mature game? still NOT cool. try to talk about angry bird/fruit ninja or a similar game, and all of your friends know it. Talk about GTA, and they will tell you "What?" if they don't know it, or "that game full of rape, slavery, incest?" if they have heard about it in some News broadcasting

Shreddy Krueger
I always thought playing video games was cool. I'm 25 now, so I've matured and don't spend as much time gaming as I did in my teens. I remember back in my teens pretty much EVERY weekend my buddies and I would get a case of beer and play Halo2 multiplayer for like 10 hours straight, and I think those were some of my favourite times as a teenager. I grew up with systems like the NES and Sega Genesis. Nowadays douchebag hipster reference them to sound cool. Different generation and mentality towards gaming from younger people these days because it's so accessible.
