Blyania to boycott Argfenstein Olympics

 

Premier Marcel Vacek announced today that Blyania will not be participating in the upcoming Olympic Games in Germania. Vacek stated that the move was in protest to the recent takeover of government by Adenoid Hynkel and his party who recently gained control of Parliament and promptly dismantled the democratic process of Argfenstein. Vacek called the move by Hynkel as a “Fascist invasion” and has also urged other nations to join the boycott as well.

 

 

What’s Next for South Glesga?

 

After the Revolutionary Forces of Glesga gained control of the nation from the Glesgan National Army questions have arose on what is the next course of action for South Glesga as it enters a new era as the “People’s Republic of South Glesga”. The government of Blyania has stated that South Glesga has entered a promising age of security and stability and has pledged full support to the nation as it looks to rebuild under a viable Socialist infrastructure.

Argfenstein-Shaffeyan Alliance

 

The Kingdom of Shaffey is proud to announce an alliance between her and Argfenstein. King Shaffey and other Shaffeyan Ministers have met the decision in the Natyala Palace in Utsoort on Friday after being contacted by telegram by Führer Adenoid Heinkel.

King Shaffey then passed the bill "Praecepta Pacem":

 

 

• The Argfenstein Military may settle in Shaffey, and vice versa

• The Economies of Shaffey and Argfenstein may rely on each other for support

• The immigration policies for Shaffeyan Citizens and Argfenstein Citizens will not be as strict as it was in the Danzig Republic

• In case of war, the two nations can rely on each other's military help (i.e. Troops, food, ammunition, vehicles etc.)

• The two nations will back each other's policies and decisions, except when the decisions and policies fundamentally go against the ideology of the other nation

 

If the Führer, Adenoid Heinkel agrees to Praecepta Pacem, the Alliance will be sealed.

Three-Power Pact [Axis Pact]

 

The pact was signed by representatives of Argfenstein (Adenoid Hynkel), Fegelein Hermanny (Hermann Fegelein), and the Kingdom of Shaffey (King Shaffey).

The three nations agreed that for the next ten years they would "stand by and co-operate with one another in... their prime purpose to establish and maintain a new order of things... to promote the mutual prosperity and welfare of the peoples concerned." They recognized each other's spheres of interest and undertook "to assist one another with all political, economic and military means when one of the three contracting powers is attacked".

 

 

•ARTICLE 1. Shaffey recognizes and respects the leadership of Argfenstein and Fegelein Hermanny in the establishment of a new order in GTAForums.

 

•ARTICLE 2. Shaffey, Argfenstein, and Fegelein Hermanny agree to cooperate in their efforts on aforesaid lines. They further undertake to assist one another with all political, economic and military means if one of the Contracting Powers is attacked by another Power.

 

•ARTICLE 3. Shaffey, Argfenstein and Fegelein Hermanny affirm that the above agreement affects in no way the political status existing at present between each of the three Contracting Powers and the Republic of Tulija.

 

•ARTICLE 4. The present pact shall become valid immediately upon signature and shall remain in force ten years from the date on which it becomes effective. In due time, before the expiration of said term, the High Contracting Parties shall, at the request of any one of them, enter into negotiations for its renewal.

Holub: Hello everyone. To begin, I must let you all know that I will be taking no questions today. Prime Minister Gjuricova will field whatever questions you may have, as she is the proper voice of the government. I speak here now as the voice of the people and the Minister of Regional Affairs for GTAForums. Now let us begin.

 

Only a short while ago, the Three Power Pact between the Kingdom of Shaffey, the Third Reich of Arfgenstein, and the Fatherland of Fegelein Hermanny was formed. Although alliances are not uncommon and not unwelcome in the GTAForums region, I know I speak for a number of nations, as well as my own nation, when I say that this Three Power Pact should be carefully scrutinized by the region for its legitimacy.

 

I repeat that alliances are not uncommon nor unwelcome in the GTAForums region. The Federal Republic of Okurka maintains a fine economic relationship with the Meritocratic Republic of Tulija, among others. However, the propositions of this pact, in addition to the inclusion of one particular member in the pact, is worrisome to me. The first article of the Three-Power Pact uses the language of establishing a new order within the GTAForums region. Not between those nations or within those nations but within the whole of the region. As further articles expressly lay out willing military cooperation between the three nations, we are left to wonder exactly what kind of new order the Three-Power Pact has in mind, and history has taught us that we should not think optimistically about such an arrangement.

 

Even more so, as the Minister of Regional Affairs, I am struck by the Third Reich of Argfenstein, which acts as the Ministry of Security for the region, having a part in this alliance. Impartiality and openness to all regional conflicts in which the Ministry of Security may have to act cannot be secured when the state acting as the Ministry of Security has its own agenda and the agenda of a select few others being put before its duties for which the nation itself applied and was voted in with the confidence of the region.

 

In short, I feel that these particular circumstances of the Three-Power Pact should be carefully examined by all nations and brought to each others' attention, something I gladly begin as the Minister of Regional Affairs. Thank you very much.

New Light Attack Fighter Graces OFADS

 

Following a boost to the Okurkite Federal Air Defense Service's (OFADS) budget, its ranks were reinvigorated with the introduction of a new, top-of-the-line light attack fighter from aviation producer Šipka Průmysl (Arrow Industries): the L-120 "Vrabec" ("Sparrow").

Although small, the Vrabec is nimble, loaded with hardpoints, and excels at loitering and patrolling duties, according to its makers. Over 100 are expected to be produced to rearm the nation's small and outdated military.

On this glorious day for Fegelein Hermanny, citizens flock for their first view of the Kriegsmarine’s new state-of-the-art aircraft carrier, christened the Graf Jeppelin, namesake of our very own industrious Ferdinand von Jeppelin. The Graf Jeppelin will take its maiden voyage as well as undergo aircraft testing in the sea within two weeks, but in the meantime, the vessel will be open for viewing by the public. Senior officer, Captain Samuel Rothschild, to take the helm of the Graf Jeppelin after its commission, was caught by our reporter on the scene, Karl Schwartz, for an interview:

KptzS. Rothschild: “Yes, we will be carrying out joint exercises with the Luftwaffe to gauge the effectiveness of the Graf Jeppelin as a platform for launching numerous types of aircraft.”

 

Schwartz: “Speaking of aircraft, one of our photographers snapped an interesting photo last week before the official unveiling of the Graf Jeppelin. In it, I see an unusual aircraft, which our readers on the internet have supposed to be a UFO, or a flying saucer, even. What do you have to say of this photograph?”

 

 

KptzS. Rothschild: “Oh that? Why, it’s simply a weather balloon which we agreed to test on behalf of a private atmospheric testing organization. Your readers must have some imagination to believe otherwise.”

 

Schwartz: “Well it certainly seems like an oddly-shaped weather balloon… would you mind telling our readers what kind of testing this vehicle has been doing in prior weeks?”

 

KptzS. Rothschild: “I’m sorry, but in respect for a certain private atmospheric testing organization, I am not at liberty to disclose such information. As for the shape of the weather balloon, I believe that the photograph must have been tampered with to mislead your audiences.”

 

Schwartz: “Surely you don’t believe that this photograph has been fabricated? Our photographer has been in faithful employment to the Reich Reporter for over a decade!”

 

KptzS. Rothschild: “Not anymore, he’s not.”

 

Schwartz: “What do you mean? I saw him in his office at- oh, oh no! You don’t mean…?”

 

KptzS. Rothschild: “I’m afraid I have to see to some plans. I must declare this interview over.”

 

Charming fellow, that captain! Why, he even organized a surprise party for our beloved photographer (whose name we must withhold for his privacy), and granted him an all-expenses paid vacation for a month! I wonder if we will hear from <name withheld> again or will he be so caught up in his vacation that he will never want to return? However it turns out, we at the Reich Reporter wish him a happy vacation and we give the best of luck to Captain Rothschild in the coming weeks.

Citizens Come Together to Celebrate Period of Prosperity

 

Despite a past few months of a rocky economy and continuing regional turmoil, citizens of Okurka are enjoying a newfound time of prosperity. Many say that the recent good fortune for the nation has been a result of the government navigating intense issues on civil rights, political freedoms, and the economy.

 

"For a while there I was worried about the future," says everyday layman Josef Barva. "The economy was kind of tanking and it seemed like the government was trying to save it by cutting back on workers' rights, but somehow we came out better than ever! Long Live the Federal Republic!"

 

Celebrations over national ratings, which indicate Okurkites as some of the nicest, most cultured, smartest, and longest living people on the planet, have led many to call for a national holiday to celebrate their accomplishments. The government has said it is considering the idea.

 

"There is nothing wrong with taking pride in the right things," commented President Vaclav Holub when asked about the idea. "I think the commemoration of our fortune, which we owe to ourselves, is a wonderful idea. Still, we must focus on keeping things as nice as they are. We cannot continue to enjoy this prosperity unless we work with our allies and tackle the obstacles that would change things for the worse."

 

As yet there has been no word from any members of the Three Power Pact regarding the President's words, given weeks ago about the possible illegitimacy of the involvement of the Minister of Security with the Pact.

We have all seen what this year has brought me here, we have all seen nations plummet into anarchy before our eyes. And each time, it has saddened us deeply. Today, our founder, The 500, is no longer among us, the government of the 500 has crashed, forcing his people into anarchy, or diaspora. We, The Eternal Kingdom of Shaffey, would like to speak to you and ask you to stand up and join us in our plan to revive this great nation. We have watched our region die for too long, but it will all end now. What happened to the cabinet? Founded by Shaffey itself? The half-empty cabinet was not particularly interested in changing the way our region was collapsing around our ears. Was this not the reason we had a cabinet? Don't you feel that all the funds and time spent into creating a cabinet was wasted? Is this the reason that money and all that time was spent? No, I do doubt it.

 

It is time to stand up, and take the first step, you, the leaders and your people, you must decide what is right. And we believe that allowing Shaffey to steer this region into a new direction is the right decision and we are putting our faith in the fellow governments and people of this great region, because we know that they can tell, Shaffey is the right decision.

Oh, and during the oh so tragic K9K9 scandal, what else was going on? We had Zootopolis' (RIP) Voting thing, where we were just commenting on it with Newspaper articles, how long did that last us? Yeah, a couple days. K9K9 lasted much longer.

 

And it's really sad that you feel the need to constantly bring that picture up.

 

I'm starting to think that you're believing this whole NS thing, if you have some K9K9 pour into our country, for example, will that change anything in your real life, will that give you responsibilities, will that make you have to spend money to save you nation? It's Politics old boy, it must be prickly. You have a history of dramatic assassinations and warmongering, which in such a conflict, must be brought up. On the other hand, The Archipelago seems to be once more showing it's own irrational hunger for the delegateship, despite it's inadequacy in those times of hardship when it lost it's role; and quite rightly too. The withdrawal of diplomatic support is regrettable also, and seen as a largely aggressive standpoint that will contribute to nothing. The action is courteously returned...

 

Shaffey, the Cabinet has been created, and fallen to inactivity far beyond anyone's control. Perhaps you are miffed at your own exclusion? Brought upon by the catastrophic foreign policy you have overseen, and enacted with international consensus; there can be little argument there.

An amazing question, speaking about sacrifices and compromises, these things are essential not only to the rulers of each individual nation, but also to the position we are fighting for now, Delegate of GTA Forums. If I must express my love to the nations of this region to ensure our success, then I will do so. If I must hold a sign, then I will hold a sign. If I must change a name, then I will change a name. If I must change a policy, then I will change a policy. Have other delegates declared themselves ready to change? To sacrifice, I doubt it. And I doubt that this will ever change.

 

The real question is, would my fellow candidates do these things? You have seen their delegateship, you have seen them turn into mist and seep into their humble positions, never to be heard of again. This is exactly what Shaffey is avoiding, and I'll be damned if this region ever suffers from such oppression and negligence again.

How can you so seriously contend that you will bring peace to a region, or stability, or any sort of semblance of normality, after your history? Shaffey has systematically proven herself to be the glorious drama queen of GTAF, the spangled and sequinned jester of bloody and bumbling disposition. Shaffey has committed an innumerate number of diplomatic gaffes, suppressed its own people, murdered ambassadors, ignited an international biological disaster and aggressively perpetrated the costliest, most brutal and inexplicable war crimes during its attacks against the 500 (a nation it now orates in feigned admiration).

 

How does such an unstable and volatile nation (whose existence in GTAF a mark of collective tolerance) ever expect to be taken seriously in any magistracy, let alone the Delegacy itself?

 

And please, do not expose yourself to such grovelling again. It was embarrassing enough from a distance, and most certainly not the mark of a leader of nations. Perhaps that sort of activity would be more suited to International Floor Scrubber... sacrifice indeed! I'd say due to your own Portraitgate, you're the most experienced in "humble" positions around here, not us, nor Otter or even our ethereal Quadratic Form...

Mr. Daxley is truly blinded, blinded enough to forget about the beginning of his own delegateship, it was Shaffey that he begged for endorsements. Was it not Shaffey that was telegrammed, each and every one of those Telegrams containing anti-Otterian speeches to change the direction I swayed? If Mr. Daxley does not grow out of his ad hominem attacks, I will have no problems publishing these documents. Some of this back and forth was even made public before. Sadly, Shaffey's trust was misplaced, Shaffey had chosen a bitter nation, a nation of empty promises. A nation of ad hominem. And Finally, a nation of betrayal.

The political machinations of that time are very well known, and by no means secretive (we had open hostilities at the time). And while this is undoubtedly an example of sharp practice, it didn't end with the murder of any ambassadors or even child murder as your own machinations did. And if we're talking of betrayal, I can steadfastly say Shaffey's blaming of the inactivity of nations on the Delegate, who has not placed a foot wrong, is an example of betrayal too. But unlike well played alliance building, or fair and mutual assistance of allies (as Tulija has sought to do), Shaffey has frequently swung between sides and most recently used an irrelevant issue as a cheap power ploy.

 

It can therefore be said that while some very sneaky provisions were made at the time, they were the height of our decadence. Making friends, deal making, a little propaganda; all very run of the mill and all largely genuine (even if conducted in shadowy and smoke filled rooms). But Shaffey's actions have been inexplicable changes of policy, of violent and nonsensical jumps. And your track record has such a frequency of disaster, why, it isn't a defamation of your past. It is a defamation of your very nature. Your nature as a scatter brained stirrer, one whose plans are paper thin. You intend to photograph your Premier holding a sign? In order to become delegate, and then what? Post excessively while your brethren sleep?

 

There is no answer to the question you are asking. Only your own failings line the way. It is also far from ad hominem - your own virtues are to be called into question if applying for such an important position. They are, expectantly, far from up to the cut.

You say it as if there is no authority, no power and no strength behind the position. Why? Because you are passive, just like Quadratic Form and The Otter Archipelago before you. Now that we have no founder, there has to be a connection to the WA. There has to be some sort of higher power. And as passive as you are, and how indifferent you are to the effects of this passiveness is one of the main reasons Shaffey has decided to speak up. My brethren will not sleep when there is work to be done. When there is a region to tend to. You have left. Proudly. You see no error in your ways. And now, you have returned, why? Because you can smell that the people of GTA Forums, and the leaders of all nations in our region can and will wake up, and respond to the truth.

 

Closed minded thinking is what is killing this region. A clean record is not required to become delegate. A nation with such a long history as Shaffey is bound to have some mistakes in its records, and Shaffey can assure you that none of its recent mistakes are currently held in high regard among the Shaffeyan people, the Shaffeyan Government and King Shaffey the Great (HSSU) himself.

 

Let us fix what has been broken by negligence. Let us fight negligence. Let the active replace the passive. Each individual nation matters. From Okurka to Goldistan, from Arkiasis to Blenheimdon. Vote for Shaffey, and see the power flow down to you.

Power corrupts. At the moment, it seems a distinct lack of power corrupts even more... despite our misgivings, we have always thought of the Archipelago as at least a worthy and virtuous opposition for leadership. Should they, as rumours milling around suggest, push themselves to aggressively attempt change through military action, it is needless to say that our own toys are of dangerous potency indeed. But of course they'd never discard their veneer of legitimacy so easily, would they? Prior understanding was that they had some sort of moral high ground, shared amongst those nations of better standing. Changing this would drop them to the league of such runabouts as Shaffey. And that would be such a tragedy...

 

Towards Shaffey once more: may we inquire as to what action you suggest? How would you mobilise activity - friendly neighbourhood genocide? A raid perhaps? The issues of inactivity are matters of individual, internal security. The Delegate has no power, no matter how inflated they may think themselves, over those other nations. We can call on them, but cannot force them to enter the forums of our region. In my time as delegate, activity permitting, I have operated impeccably. The Federal Republic of Okurka, acting as the Minister of Regional Affairs, would like to first slam the gavel and insist that diplomatic communications, however heated, have no good reason to fall towards insult and immaturity. It is unbecoming of the nations on all sides of the verbal conflict. For this reason, the FRO withholds its vote on a new or continuing WA delegate until arguments by nominees move from being entirely ad hominem to explaining and defending personal merits.

 

Additionally, the Federal Republic of Okurka suggests that among the nations present and active, a vote on the dissolution, temporary or otherwise, of the Regional Cabinet take place. Although the FRO has a seat in the Cabinet, it understands that the limited activity in the GTAForums region has rendered the Cabinet largely obsolete and its authority easily challenged. Instead, nations within the GTAForums region should be allowed to work as they please with alliances and rivalries--hopefully more of the former than the latter.

If a peaceful solution is not reached, the Republic of the 500, and any other vulnerable nations within the region, may defend their borders as they see fit.

Gracious Fegelein! Our Regional Founder has returned! Only a few days ago, the Herman people have heard that The Republic of the 500 simply ceased to exist! How did The 500 overcome such adversity? Where was The 500 during the brief period in which a vast void took the place of an entire nation? Are other-worldly or extra-dimensional beings to blame for such a phenomenon? Do tell our great leader, Fegelein, how The 500 managed to pop in and out of the realm of existence!
