RFG Claims Fort Pollok

In an unprecedented event since the beginning of the Southern Civil War, The Stateman's Eye has been granted access to the streets of Fort Pollok with members of the Glesgan National Army's 3rd Battalion. Two days ago that access to the capital was cut short, as the GNA withdrew its forces from the city amidst insuppressible attacks from the RFG.

We joined one Lieutenant and his men as they pulled out of city as part of a convoy. He wished to remain un-named.

"We do not view this withdrawal as a herald of defeat, for war is full of surprises. But we are concerned about our families." said the haggard officer as he changed the bandaging on one of his men's legs. "Who will protect them from the vengeance of the terrorists now that we are gone?"

Despite generally being better equipped and trained than their nationalist contemporaries, the GNA has suffered consecutive defeats in the past fortnight.

"But we must now turn our attention to the larger war effort. We are pulling out of the cities and into the countryside, where we can re-organise and hopefully launch a counter-attack. We do not hear much news from the outside world anymore, but there are rumours that the international community support us."

The question of outside intervention remains unsolved, although Commander Black's latest boorish statement appears to have made a 'yes' the more likely answer. Tulija, Zootopolis and Amsterdon have all spoken of possible military action; the latter appearing to publicly condemn the nationalists and proclaim the unionists as the legitimate authority in South Glesga.

"Outside help would of course be most appreciated," commented the young Lieutenant, by this point drenched in his soldier's blood, "but no amount of bloodshed, internment or pressure is going to make the RFG go away. We must find another solution for a lasting peace. I fight to protect my community and family, not because I believe the 'Reds' can be defeated through force of arms."

This certainly differs from the RFG's interpretation of how to bring about a solution to the eternal strife. 'TRAITORS OUT' replaced the normal shop-sign at The Drummer, an infamous unionist dive on Fort Pollok's Argyle Street, popularly known as Machine Gun Mile. RFG fighters were out in force in the formerly GNA-administered west end of the city, and claims of abuse and war crimes are already widely reported by locals.

RFG parades and celebrations have been occuring for the past two days throughout Fort Pollok.

Clearly, the militants felt our presence had kicked up too much of a stir, as one of our photographers was muscled into the back of a Land Rover. We have yet to hear any word of his status or whereabouts.

Despite both faction's claim to be the only legitimate power in South Glesga, neither truly is. While the unionists certainly appear more authentic and orthodox in appearance and tone, they are guilty of the same crimes as their nationalist foes, and enjoy no special recognition under the Treaty of Airdrie that ended the Glesgan Civil War. The North Glesgan government's official policy is to regard the true government of the South as "its people", although this interpretation is suitably vague that Lenzie's political class can normally ignore the Southern question.

News24 announces Election Coverage

In a statement released last night. News 24, Zootopolis' only 24 hour news channel announced it's plan for Wednesday's election coverage. The statement read,

"News24 is pleased to announce it's schedule for this Wednesday's election. Correspondents will be at polling stations ACROSS Zootopolis speaking to voters to gauge their opinions on the candidates and give you up to date exit poll results. Those correspondents will be in constant contact with our regular newsreaders Alison Mahonney and Tom Francis from 6pm till midnight."

But that's not all. News24 has promised "new exciting" technologies for this election including "holograms, the latest in cutting edge CGI animation and fireworks". It remains to be seen if this election coverage can top the last one where a giant straw man was erected in President Pandazoot's likeness after he defeated Marcus Branning.

President Join Regional Voices on South Glesga

With the restructuring of the federal government firmly set in place, President Vaclav Holub set his sights on possible intervention in South Glesga in a heavily-promoted press conference yesterday.

"In the past week, several nations, most of which are Regional Council members, have provided official responses to the worsening conflict in South Glesga," the President said. "The Okurkite government's considerations on the matter are long past due, for which I apologize. On behalf of the Federal Republic of Okurka, I join those nations who agree that some sort of intervention must be sought. As the Minister of Regional Affairs, I intend to actively work with other nations to bring a peaceable end to the conflict in South Glesga."

Although many consider the President's intentions to be clear, the means to the end have been left up to speculation by citizens.

Hello followers! I, the Government Governor, have a real laugh for you.

So it looks like now-dictator (*ahem* President) Vaclav Holub is endorsing war against the people in South Glesga. I don't like any of those savages personally, and I don't see why their strife is any of our business. I guess Holub is bored of oppressing people in his own country. Anyway, Holub says he wants to bring an end to the conflict by peaceable means, which basically means "we don't have any military so we'll use words to make them stop."

This is a goddamn circus we have going on here, except it's just disturbingly awful instead of entertaining. At the very least, there are rumors that the government is negotiating an arms deal with Tulija. I gotta say, I can't disagree with those guys. They've got the right idea about how to run a country! Our government could use some tips. Better yet, they can negotiate borrowing some of their politicians.

Polls to open in three hours

Volunteers are gearing up for the opening of the Election Centres for Zootopolis' Presidential Election. The polls are set to open at precisely 00:00 where the first eager voters will be able to choose between President Pandazoot: Andy Marfell of the Bretton Liberal Party, Cornelius Simpson of the Zootopolis Conservative Party, Dave Richards of the United Workers Party and Yolanda Smith of the General Panova Remembrance Party.

There have been reported queues outside some centres in Maddox which suggests the fever for democracy is still strong, years after the demise of General Panova's dictatorial rule. The four candidates are expected to arrive at Ridgemont High Secondary School tomorrow morning at 10:00 to cast their ballots. They will then go back to their respective Campaign Headquarters to follow the election results.

Join us online tomorrow for up to date coverage of the Election.

Commander Black To Hold Press Conference

The RFG's elusive new kingpin, Commander Black, has set the date for a press conference in Fort Pollok. In an unprecedented move for the typically xenophobic organisation, members of the international media have been welcomed to hear a statement on Saturday afternoon. Black neglected to mention a venue in his invitation on the basis of "security concerns", but has said he can "assure the safe passage and stay of all traveling press in Fort Pollok". Similarly, no agenda was provided for the conference, but the RFG have stated they will welcome any questions the international community may have.

Last week the militants wrestled full control of the southern capital from their GNA adversaries. Sources within the North Glesgan Intelligence Detachment state that the RFG now controls over three-quarters of South Glesga, with unionist forces relegated to a few rural outposts on the outskirts of the country. There have been murmurs from the international community of possible intervention in the conflict, and it would appear the RFG are attempting to acquire countenance externally.

Presidential Election Held in Zootopolis

President Pandazoot seeks re-election in the face of a vigorous campaign by his conservative rival, Cornelius Simpson. The outcome will be of particular interest to South Glesgans, as President Pandazoot has pledged to make the South Glesgan Civil War a top policy matter should he be re-elected. His competitor has, on the other hand, made clear his belief that Zootopolis ought to remain uninvolved in the war.

In the latest coverage of exit polls, it would appear President Pandazoot shall retain the premiership; a mere two points off a majority, as Mr Simpson trails on 42%. An announcement on the final result is expected tomorrow.

Feel free to PM me any questions members of your nation's media may pose to Commander Black at the conference!

VICTORY FOR SIMPSON

SIMPSON NAMED PRESIDENT

SIMPSON CONQUERS MARFELL

Simpson edges to win

In one of the closest Presidential Elections in the history of Zootopolis and Pandazootopia, Cornelius Simpson, leader of the Zootopolis Conservative Party, edged out Andy Marfell to become the new President of Zootopolis and the second leader since the fall of General Panova.

The election results were announced shortly after 02:30 this morning, where hysterical Simpson supporters had been waiting all night in the cold to see if their chosen candidate would come to victory. Jane Hilton had been waiting outside the Conservative Party's election HQ since 20:30 when the result came in. She told us,

"Tonight is a great night for Zootopolis. President Simpson knew that some changes had to be made and I have no doubt he will now bring that change. God bless Zootopolis!"

The election saw a massive change in seats for both Bretton's Liberal Party and the Conservative Party. The Conservative party ended on 228 seats, 27 more than needed for the win. That was a gain of 135 seats, mostly in the Western part of Zootopolis. On the other hand, Bretton's Liberal Party saw their number of seats fall from 223, in the last election, to 144.

As well as that, The United Workers Party and the Panova Remembrance Party both saw a drop as well. The Panova Remembrance Party lost 16 seats, seeing them drop to 18. But the United Workers Party lost 40 seats taking them down to 10 seats and therefore becoming the smallest party in the Government. This suggests that the Presidential Debate last week between Marfell and President Simpson meant that the two smallest parties were seemingly forgotten about by voters. As well as that, the Panova Remembrance Party's rise from smallest to second smallest party suggests a worrying rise in right wing politics.

At 02:45, President Simpson made a short statement to his supporters at his campaign headquarters. He thanked them all for their undying support and also thanked his family too. He is expected to make an official statement later on today. Andy Marfell on the other hand has not been heard from but the former President is expected to make a statement as well later on today.

Simpson: A new era for Zootopolis.

Cornelius Simpson today made his first speech as President and has wasted no time in bringing new changes to the nation. But first he congratulated his opponents on a well fought campaign. It was then on to more pressing matters. Straight away, President Simpson denounced the title of 'President Pandazoot'. He said,

"The title of 'President Pandazoot' was a horrid abomination that was created by my predecessor as a tribute to the God of Phalluses created by St Bretton. I do not wish to hold such a title and be known as President Pandazoot: Cornelius Simpson. I wish to be just President Simpson. A more dignified name."

President Simpson then went on to seemingly reverse decisions made by his predecessor such as taking action in Glesga,

"Now I know that my predecessor promised to help take action in Glesga but that will not be a blip on my administration's agenda. I will not be part of the Council's plan to intervene in Glesga and I am wiping my hands clean of the situation. Zootopolis has no interest in it.

It is also my interest to seek back the money that Zootopolis loaned to The Kingdom of Shaffey for Utsoort. King Shaffey boasts of his countries wealth and yet he has not spoken to Zootopolis regarding paying the money back. I will demand the money is returned to the people of Zootopolis."

The next step for President Simpson is to announce his cabinet which is expected to occur on Monday.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Bretton's Liberal Party Leader Andy Marfell has handed in his notice of resignation to the party.

In light of the recent election result, he felt that had taken the party as far as he could.

Deputy Leader Valerie Shaw will now take leadership for the forseeable future.

Boyd Pleads For International Aid

General Irvine Boyd, the Glesgan National Army's straight-talking leader, has issued a plea to the outside world for "aid" in the South Glesgan conflict. His forces appear to have suffered a cataclysmic series of defeats in recent weeks, forcing them to retreat to the South's rugged, marshy rural perimeter. General Boyd, son-in-law of the GNA's founding father Archie Buchanan, is seen to be a modernising voice in the organisation; concerned more with improving the Army's legitimacy and appeal.

user posted image

General Boyd appears to have adopted his RFG contemporary's fashion sense in front of the camera.

His statement appears to have been dispatched to a number of media outlets across the region, and he appeals directly to the Regional Council at points.

"I will not beat around the bush, the Reds have us by the balls." stated the General, his voice as gruff as ever. "My men are prepared to wage an insurgency against their tyranny, but we now lack the capability to win a conventional victory in this conflict. But with the appropriate assistance from external sources, we can smash the RFG and return stability and freedom to South Glesga. I implore the Regional Council to aid us in this worthy cause."

Boyd is believed to be hiding in the swamplands of western South Glesga, the traditional heartland of unionism in the country. Commander Black issues a response only a few hours ago, offering a "generous reward" for those who bring him "Boyd's head, preferably on a spike."

Simpson Clinches Victory In Zootopolis Election

Cornelius Simpson was named the new Zootopolian President last night in a close election against incumbent Andy Marfell. The latter's Liberal Party saw a huge loss of seats, and Marfell has resigned as the party's leader. In his cardinal speech as President, Mr Simpson recanted his predecessor's statements regarding the South Glesgan Civil War, vowing that Zootopolis would have nothing to do with the conflict. His words will make concerning news for Irvine Boyd, who has pleaded to the international community for intervention.

Shock Win As Marfell Tumbles

Residents of GTAF were stunned as the results of the Zootese election hit the airwaves - flip flopping Conservative Cornelius Simpson winning an astounding and unexpected victory in last nights presidential election. Although the tumultuous fallout is still settling in Zootopolis itself, international reactions have been mixed. In our own national media, the result has been met with resounding negativity after the nonsensical religious switching of Simpson went apparently unnoticed by the people of Zootopolis - bringing into question the span and quality of their memories. Although Simpson seems to be considerably less interventionist and less interested with unexplainable appeasement of Shaffey; his actions have effectively ruled out the beginnings of substantial multilateral cooperation against any of the Glesgan factions. The Tulijan Directorate has still maintained neutrality, dropping medical supplies and food indiscriminately.

The Directorate has issued a declaration congratulating the new administration, although their opposition on major issues makes such an action appear generic and paper thin. Whether the Simpson regime maintains such good relations with Tulija and other neighbours as Marfell did is yet to be seen.

Tulija Celebrates 100 Days!

Festivities concluded today as the people of Concordánce, New Buckingham, Meridian City, Mauritopolis, Cote Noire, Montevideo, Fort Coligny, Routledge and Amapa as Tulijans celebrated the nations prominence as Delegate for the 100th day. Considered an honour to represent the region at large, Arthur Kaylor was on point in the capital to deliver his speech, pledging another "100 days of terrific leadership and service for the people of GTAF". Highlights of the celebration included the GTAF International parade through Tavington Square and Chance Ave. into Central 88th Street, which included floats from all 48 nations of the region. The fireworks display in New Buckingham also included pieces from each of the representative nations. Early this morning the last of the events were concluded, giving local media enough breathing space and time to cover the dramatic run up and conclusion to the Zootese election (Pages 1 & 2)

BLACK DECLARES SOUTH GLESGA A "PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC"

South Glesga changed course drastically yesterday, as Commander Black of the RFG claimed his organisation had "vanquished" their GNA opponents, resultingly declaring the nation a "People's Republic". Earlier in the week, Black extended an invitation to members of the international media to an open-air conference in Burns Square, the traditional seat of authority in Fort Pollok.

user posted image

Black continued to maintain his anonymity at the conference, stating his identity should be of little concern to anyone.

Approaching the stage unceremoniously, the RFG Commander wasted no time delivering the statement.

"I will be brief and to the point, for we have much work to do yet. It is the opinion of the Revolutionary Forces of Glesga's executive council that the unionist traitors have been vanquished to the point of obscurity, and now lack the capability to affect our position. As such, we declare the state of South Glesga a People's Republic, embodying the socialist and nationalist principles we have fought so long for.

In time we shall establish worker's councils and regional councils to administrate their own affairs, but for the time being the executive council of RFG shall act as a de facto government, with full sovereign authority and status. I personally shall assume the role of 'Guardian', representing our nation on the international stage. We are hopeful that the region shall recognise our legitimacy and authority."

The Commander then invited questions from members of the assorted media. Hans van Wijk of the The Amsterdonian asked "We would like to know your plans for the North; do you feel that the peace can last between North and South Glesga. And now that the South is under your control, what are your immediate priorities and goals, and what do you hope to achieve?" Black was flat in tone as he responded. "The North is a foreign nation with its own values and traditions, and the South's war of independence resolved the grievances between our nations. We are concerned with ourselves and ourselves only. We aim to deliver stability, and develop a viable socialist infrastructure in all elements of South Glesgan society."

John McCann of The Bearsden Mail questioned Black's claim of victory in the current civil war, stating parts of South Glesga remained firmly in GNA hands. "It is true that the traitors linger in pockets of our nation, and we do not expect South Glesga to ever truly rid itself of them for the foreseeable future. However, it is a top priority of this government to fully de-commision the so-called Glesgan National Army, and bring their leaders to justice."

President Simpson took to the stage yesterday for his press statement since becoming President last week. He took the time to announce his cabinet for his first term in office and also reiterated his aims for Zootopolis.

Here is a complete listing of his cabinet:

Vice President: Martin Jobs

Press Secretary:  Claudia Jean

Chief of Staff:  Stefan Thomas

Secretary of Foreign Relations: Theodore Knoxville

Defence Secretary: General Dwight Smalls

Education Secretary: Juliet Lawson

Transportation Secretary: Francesca Heart

Most interestingly of all is that Claudia Jean has been hired by the Conservative Party. Jean is expectedly to comment on her transfer in tomorrow's press briefing.

OFADS Gets A "Long Due" Upgrade

The federal government recently released to the public today that a contract with the Meritocratic Republic of Tulija was brokered in which, along with increased security and economic coordination, 7 Tulijan M-84 fighter aircraft were bought to update the long outdated Okurkite Federal Air Defense Service, colloquially known by its acronym OFADS. Brigádní Generál Radola František, Commander of the OFADS, stood particularly tall during a small press conference on the purchase.

"Since the civil war, there has been an understandable fear of the military. Now, we are beginning to understand that our military today is made of everyday Okurkites who choose a career path that entails being the first, the strongest, and the most endangered line of defense for our nation. For that, they deserve the best equipment that we can offer them. I am very happy that negotiations with them went as well as they have.

Plukovník (Colonel) Petr Moravec, purportedly the negotiator of the military side of the deal, was given permission by superiors to explain the acquisition.

"We went to Tulija first because they are both close allies and they possess more technologically advanced military hardware. All the indications of a good deal came from them; they were phasing out Generation 4 aircraft, they are trustworthy--we expected a good deal from them and that is exactly what we got. We even got the M-84s with their current equipment as opposed to having them downgraded so they couldn't be used against Tulija. That is how strong our friendship is, and it will carry us places."

Still, the purchase of only 7 aircraft leaves much to be desired, as the original bid was for at least 14 new aircraft. After speaking with government and military officials, it has become clear that the OFADS is still looking for at least 7 aircraft to complete a minimal update requirement.

New Barcode system set to revolutionise Amsterdon

The introduction of a new barcode system by the justice secretary was unveiled today and will be introduced in the following weeks to all citizens. It will involve tattooing a barcode unique to every individual on their wrist, ankle and lower back. It will be madatory for all citizens aged 18 and upwards, however those under 18 will be exempt as their bodies still need to grow and therefor will distort the permanent tattoos. Citizens aged under 18 will instead have to wear bracelets with their barcode stamped on, if found without a bracelet then there is a $5,000 fine for the parents. If they are unable to pay the fine within 2 weeks, a parent of the child will be forced to work in a labour camp for 1 month. In the rare case of an orphaned child, the citizen in question will complete any work in a labour camp that is required of them, upon reaching the age of 18.

There will be barcode readers on every public building and workplace, as well as public transport vehicles. Police officers will also carry readers and citizens will be expected to show their barcodes when asked. Introduction of this system will alow the goverment to protect its citizens more effectively, and keep track of any suspected terrorists or criminals. The Supreme Leader called it an "Important step in securing our nation from threats. Wear your Barcodes with pride!".

Jean faces media interrogation

After a recent small terrorist scare caused a delay to Press Secretary Claudia Jean's first press briefing on Wednesday, she took to the podium on Thursday to speak to the press for the first time. Below is a transcript of that press briefing:

Claudia Jean: Ladies and Gentleman, good morning to you all. There is not statement from President Simpson today, he simply wishes for you all to field all questions you have to me. I suppose we should start with the obvious one, so Bill, why don't you start us off?

Q1: Thank you Claudia. My question is...why have you defected from the Bretton's Liberal Party and joined the Zootopolis Conservative Party? Surely this goes against all that you stand for?

Jean: The reason I left the party and joined the Conservatives was because my contract with the Liberal Party had ended. I was only brought into the Liberal Party because of my past experience in PR. My ideological stance is pretty neutral and so I had no qualms in joining the Conservative Party when they asked me.

Q2: So Claudia, do you agree with President Simpson when he brought the death penalty back into action just two days after unveiling his cabinet?

Claudia: I don't disagree with him. I think that some people deserve the death penalty for their crimes.

Q3: And what about Glesga? President Pandazoot was all up for being part of a regional intervention in that area and because you were part of that administration, I would say you were up for it as well...but now that President Simpson has changed Zootopolis' stance on Glesga....surely you must be slightly annoyed?

Claudia: So you're saying I'm guilty by association with the last administration? I was merely a mouthpiece for the administration. I never had any say in what President Pandazoot did.

Q3: What about now? Do you have some kind of influence in the Simpson Administration.

Claudia: ...

Q3: Claudia?

Claudia: No I do not have a say in matters. That is all down to President Simpson and his staff.

Q4: But you ARE his staff?!

Claudia: ...

What's going on in Argfenstein

The communists have been organising strikes, demonstrations, riots, etc. in Germania. Their one aim, to win power. They want to model Argfenstein on Bolshevik Russia.

The Danzig Republic's solution to this problem was to send in the Frykorps. They were ordered to shoot anyone carrying a gun. During just a few days over a thousand people were shot dead. The FryKorps were ruthless, on one occasion thirty sailors were slaughtered as they collected their wages.

I like that idea.

What's going on in Okurka

As the military bolsters its aerial inventory with Tulijan M-84s, President Vaclav Holub has begun to reach out to Paul von Richstofen, the Minister of Security from Argfenstein in regards to serious thoughts about intervention while simultaneously contacting both sides of the Glesgan conflict in an effort to find a resolution that won't require coercion from the outside.

While civil and political rights continue to thrive, the Okurkite economy is still having trouble developing. Critics blame strict environmental and workers rights policies that have stifled bigger business. Okurkite citizens are largely split on whether or not to ease restrictions to improve the economy or keep with the current laws in place in order to preserve public health and happiness.

Argfenstein's Political World

In the years since the fall of the momentary comunist government, the democratic government has given born to multiple political factions. But none has growed more rapidly than the Argfenstein Workers Party, whos habid speaker, Adenoid Hynkel, preaches about the influence of foreign invaders. Who, among other things, were blamed for the economic catastrophe that resulted from the War.

[...]

After a relatively long period whereby nations were seemingly taking a more isolationist strategy, the Supreme Leader is happy to see the region is again committed to intra-regional affairs. The situation inside Glesga has yet to be resolved, and the fact that nothing has been heard of for weeks now is very worrying. The Lilliputian elections were scheduled to take place this month, but due to unforseen events and problems it has been moved back until June. Amsterdonian troops are still in full control of the territory, and shall oversee the democratic elections making sure everything is carried out in the proper manner. They will ensure that the safety of the voters is not at risk as Lilliputian far right groups have threatened to take "strong action against Amsterdon and the elections" which they have made unsubstantiated claims against, claiming that they will be rigged.

National Assembly BOMBED While In Session! Soal Claims Credit For Attacks! Over 16 Government Facilities Attacked In Just Hours!
At least 35 members and aides of the National Assembly have been killed, with over 100 more hospitalized, after a bomb exploded in the Capitol building today. Although the government has yet to make an official statement, eyewitnesses and officials allege that disguised as a member of the press pool, a man infiltrated the Capitol building early this afternoon, with the bomb detonating at exactly 1:15pm. Soal, an extremist religious group with a large following along the eastern borders of the 500, has claimed credit for the blasts and shootings that have killed and injured hundreds today. In a statement posted online exactly 2 minutes before the Capitol Blast occurred, the group describes the exact circumstances of the bomb and delivers an ultimatum - grant East 500 independence or face hundreds of additional bombings as bad as or worse than those that occurred today...

Some 15 government facilities in the eastern region of the 500 have been attacked by suspected Soal suicide bombers and assault teams in the past few hours, in a move that has put the entire government on high alert, prompted the president and Joint Chiefs to authorize the imposition of martial law in these territories, raised the death toll to well over two thousand, and has millions of citizens crying for justice. Soal has placed on their public website a list of demands, including the creation of an independent socialist state of Soal and 5 billion dollars in reparations for alleged abuses against members of the Soal sect...

At least 3/4 of those facilities attacked were destroyed by suspected suicide bombers or car bombs, while so far three attacks by armed assault teams have been confirmed by eyewitnesses. These attacks are almost certainly related to the Soal Capitol bombing that occured earlier this afternoon. Reports are still coming in as of printing time of additional facilities attacked...

So far at least 200 lives have been lost in the Soal terrorist attacks, with a staggering 400 injured or in critical condition. Terrorism experts are astounded by the numbers. Ben Webster, a retired FBI agent, explained that "it is almost unheard of for attacks on so grand a scale to actually be carried out by terrorist groups - usually, at maximum three attacks are carried out in one day." That number is expected to rise in the coming days - armed citizens have massed near the border line stated in Soal's demands, and National Guard forces are already heading east and establishing up a perimeter opposite them...

Our Region is so peaceful.  inlove.gif

If by peaceful you mean "dead".

I was talking about what's happenning in our Nations. But yeah, you are right. Most are too busy to engage roleplay.

Oh, misunderstood you. But yeah, most people seem to just click their issues and sign out. If it takes a civil war to create action, might as well go for it, I say. Won't affect anybody unless they want it to, after all. Easier than trying to negotiate who wins some pre-planned war with another player.

It's quiet because we're busy in real life, perhaps after the exams are concluded we'll see a resurgence. Don't try and force activity, it won't catch on.

Yes, me too. It's not my idea to force activity at all.

The new Argfenstein Realm

user posted image

On the evening of Jan. 30, Adenoid Hynkel, the newly appointed Chancellor of Argfenstein, stood in a government building at an open window watching a torchlight parade of 25,000 Nizan troops march through the streets of Germania. Thousands of Argfens cheered as they marched by, and Hynkel was giddy with delight. "No power on Earth will get me out of here alive," someone heard him say.

Earlier that day, the President of Argfenstein, Paul von Richstofen, had appointed Hynkel Chancellor. Having won more than than 37 percent of the vote in the previous year's legislative elections, Hynkel's party had enough power to effectively paralyze Argfenstein's democratic government, which had been in place for 14 years. Richstofen hoped that by appointing Hynkel, he could satisfy Nizan legislators and break the deadlock, while maintaining control of the government behind the scenes.

With the population of Amsterdon reaching 1.5 billion this week, preperations were made for extravagant ceremonies and parades to commemorate the occasion.

The capital city of National Area 1 was renamed in the Supreme Leader's honour to "Leider Stad" meaning leader city. It is an apt name as it reflects its role as a centre of national and regional importance in finance, politics, culture and infrastructure, but also in honour of the Supreme Leader himself and his great contributions to the Federation of Amsterdon. It was marked by massive celebrations within the capital, as well as other cities across Amsterdon. Citizens were seen jubilant on the streets, waving flags and hailing the Supreme Leader and his glory.

A huge military parade was held in his honour, with tens of thousands of troops marching across the main square, which itself was also renamed in the Supreme Leader's honour to "Leider Plein". The Supreme Leader was seen waving and saluting the troops, looking stern and with steel in his eyes. At the end of the parade he gave a speech praising the might and bravery of Amsterdonian troops, giving special credit to those in Lilliputia, to a crowd hundreds of thousands strong which had filled the parade ground and the surrounding streets and boulevards.

The Supreme Leader then reitred to the Federal Palace, giving an adress to the entire nation via TV in the evening.

During a recent severe storm, the airship AAS-Hiddenburg caught fire and ended up making a crash landing in Germania. Everyone on board as well as several hundred people on the ground were killed in the resulting inferno. Reporter Herb Morris' incredible live coverage of the disaster and the media circus surrounding the safety of such vessels has people looking to the government for solutions.

Oh, the humanity! And all the passengers screaming around here. I told you; it—I can't even talk to people, their friends are out there! Ah! It's... it... it's a... ah! I... I can't talk, ladies and gentlemen. Honest: it's just laying there, mass of smoking wreckage. Ah! And everybody can hardly breathe and talk and the screaming. I... I... I'm sorry. Honest: I... I can hardly breathe. I... I'm going to step inside, where I cannot see it. Charlie, that's terrible. Ah, ah... I can't. Listen, folks; I... I'm gonna have to stop for a minute because [indecipherable] I've lost my voice. This is the worst thing I've ever witnessed.

The actual cause of the fire remains unknown, although a variety of hypotheses have been put forward for both the cause of ignition and the initial fuel for the ensuing fire. The government fears it could be an attack from communist terrorist organizations or worst, from Nations in our own Region.

Regional Strife Swaying National Opinions

Nejlepši

The high number of violent incident in the region over the course of the past several weeks has begun to seriously affect nationwide opinions on terrorism, security, and politics, polling has shown.

Federal analysis, backed up by private research institutions, have released reports detailing a significant relationship between the politics of the attackers in recent incidents and their actions. "In layman's terms, it means that they all have similar motives for similar actions," says Ondrej Karlov, criminal psychologist and researcher at the Ředitelství Zahraničních Věcí a Informace (Directorate of Foreign Affairs and Information; RZVI/DFAI).

"It's highly likely that the Glesgan civil war has sparked these events. The victory of extremist socialist forces in South Glesga was followed by attacks in the 500 and the loss of the AAS-Hiddenburg--in which communist extremists may be implicated--within two weeks. This is not likely just a coincidence. Leftist extremist groups in largely capitalist or imperialist countries have been motivated into violent action by the success of the RFG in South Glesga."

Despite the government responding to these events by turning its attention to increased security and foreign relations issues, a number of analysts and experts are unworried. When asked why, parliament member Andrej Pohodly had this to say:

"Fear is understandable and I sympathize with my fellow Okurkites. Terrorism is difficult to predict and it can affect all of us in very significant and personal ways. However, while I support action to secure the safety of our citizens and our posterity, I feel that we as a nation have little to fear. Okurka has absolutely no imperialist presence and our current politics are quite liberal. We have a good mix of socialist and capitalist policies that shouldn't offend anybody except, perhaps, someone who is looking to be offended, and if they are, then we are happy to talk to them about their concerns. Bullets and blood should never have to enter a political conversation."
