StewMitch Posted August 30, 2002 Share Posted August 30, 2002 Alright here is the official stuff I can think of off the top of my big head- GTA:Vice will be released for PS2 on October, 22, 20002 PC version has been CONFIRMED, so none of that "Sony 2004 exclusive contract crap" The main Character talks Tires can be shot out [Following Posted By Sjay, posted here for easy location] 1. Around 90 different songs. 2. Over 9 hours worth of music! 3. Vice City soundtrack possible. 4. More than 10 radio stations. 5. Lazlow may return. 6. MP may not be included. 7. Character's name is Tommy Vercetti. 8. One person you work for: Sonni Forelli. 9. Tommy speaks... voiced by actor Ray Liotta. 10. Vice City is 2 - 2 1/2x as big as Liberty City. 11. No unlocking parts of the city... everything is open to you from the beginning. 12. There is interior design... you can go inside over 50 buildings, including a bank, a shopping mall, a coffee house, a nightclub and an airport jammed with ticket counters and customers. 13. Some or many missions are indoors. 14. Peds include: joggers, roller-skaters, people enjoying beach, sun, etc... 15. Peds will jump out of the ways of cars, cross streets, and walk in tandem. 16. Gangs will beat down random passerby, steal cars, get in chases with the police. 17. Police chase others for wrong-doings as well. 18. Vice is vibrant, bright, beautiful, not at all like Liberty. 19. Higher resolution. 20. Faster frame-rate. 21. Neon lights glow as well in the city. 22. No more boxy figures, smooth character models are in Vice. 23. Tommy is taller and much more proportionate than our beloved GTA3 Guy. (this means he won't have those stubby little legs like the GTA3 Guy...) 24. Characters are fully skinned. 25. Greatly enhanced targeting system. 26. Targeting system targets victims based on priority not proximity... meaning the most dangerous guys will be targeted, not the most closest. (doesn't consern pc version I think. -teme-) 27. Dual Cross-Hairs: displays both the exact target and bullet-spray radius. 28. 40 new weapons, 15 from GTA3. 29. New "crouching" maneuver. 30. Camera view will lock-on as "over-the-shoulder" in targeting mode. 31. HUD map: in interior corridor action. 32. It's the 80's so all completed objectives are paid out in real period-value dollars. 33. Many side-missions. 34. New side-missions... Rockstar reveals "pizza-delivery" side-mission. 35. More than 120 vehicles... 70 more than GTA3. 36. Lamborghinis and Ferraris are in the game. 37. Getting in choppers, with passengers are possible to do in the game. 38. Bikes look great, Tommy handles them like a pro. 39. Clothing ripples in the wind. 40. Reflective surfaces and real-time shadowing are greatly improved. 41. A new addition: the ability to shoot out tires, which affects handling physics. But wait-- police do this too... 42. Boats play a greater role. 43. Jet-skis and cigarette boats are possible. 44. Game's water physics and handling are completely revamped. 45. Vice city will appear as a totally new game and NOT as an add-on as previously reported. 46. It will feature a new game engine. 47. Bigger, badder and uncut as explained by Sam Houser: "It's an even more revolutionary gaming experience. This will be reflected in the size of the game, the scope of the gameplay and the extent of the gameplayer's freedom." 48. You can change suits. 49. Store robberys are possible. 50. Helicopters are manuevarable. 51. You can shoot forward while on a bike. 52. Some weapons can be used in chopper. 53. At least 100 missions. Possibly as many as 140. Compared to GTA III's 73 missions... 54. You can bail out of a moving vehicle now. 55. You can load up an airplane and bomb a boat right out of the water. 56. Spikestrips are available to police. 57. Weapons include a knife. 58. Many, many more side-missions. 59. More than 8000 - 9000 ped dialogue lines. Compare that with GTA III's 3000 lines. 60. 80 minutes worth of cutscenes... compare to GTA III's 30 minutes. 61. Tommy has been jailed for the past 15 years after a drug deal he was involved in went bad. He escapes and the guy who gave him the job asks for the money he lost. Time to get to work. 62. There is a possibility of playing as other characters. 63. The game's maturity is increased. 64. Game releases October 22nd in the US and the 25th in the UK. Kind of hard to search for official info. Here, its easier to look for information.
