WhyYouMad?
" why did I move here? well you know that thing..... that magic..." who could he be talking too? I'm sure nikos " life is complicated " speech was in the game of gta4
JasonBrody
Maybe he is talking to the main character?
Duxfever
Niko's monologue was when he was talking to Faustin's wife early on in the game, I think. His monologue in his teaser trailer was mixed lines from throughout the game. Of the V trailer, I'm not sure what to think. But it would be an interesting twist if the protagonist was actually talking at someone, rather than to them. I'm guessing we'll hear it in-game early on in, also. JasonBrody
I think this is pretty much like the RDR trailer, where Mister MacFarlane was narrating/talking.
Algonquin Assassin
Well his opening sentence is obviously rhetorical. "Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather". One sure thing is it has to be the protagonist. I can't see it being anyone else.

GTA5 is most likely to have multiple protagonists (all of us can sense it). However, the narrator might be the one protagonist we will play as most of the time. Durden
It's most likely a Soliloquy.
Mister Pink
Yeah it's like an internal monologue. Like miami said, it's rhetorical, speaking to himself or the viewer. Like Goodfellas, where Ray Liotta narrates throughout the film. Or even better as gionascm2 puts it - it's a soliloquy I thought that was obvious, lol. Nahhhhh, I'm gonna bet on having 1 protagonist, like we've always had......since gta has existed. Ik that things can change as gta evolves, but more than one protagonist is a game mechanic I doubt they will ever change. Dlc's are the only exception, but there independent stories on there own. llpalm08
It could be that he got caught by the police and they were questioning him and if he gave them info that could put some mob bosses behind bars he could go free on the witness protection program to another city. Then he finds out that the mob bosses have been released and are out to take him down so he has to go back to LS and take them out before they take him out as they will find him. senor_huevos_benedicto
I believe that the character giving the speech is talking to the protagonist.
Triple Vacuum Seal
the guy in the trailer says, "from that, that line of work"....he sounds like he's is pointing or directing at something on the first time he says "that"...just my 2 cents "shut up, sit down, relax"

Tipper
I think it sounds like a monologue for the openning sequence of the game. Pretty much like Carl's "After five years on the east coast, it was time to go home...". But right now for all we know, he could be talking to anyone at any moment of the game. He may even be a character giving you missions and saying this to the protagonist.

This. It's clear that the monologue is from a conversation, some kind of introspective discussion between criminals.

Samsuxx
It don't has to be a monologue, or a speech. It don't has to be the main protag neither, imo. Let's say that our protag, let's call him John, enters the city with nothing but an adress of his schoolfriend he had in Liberty City. Now John asks him why he moved from LC to LS. And that's his answer. Or something else: the police asks the narrator why he moved to LS, like in Scarface where the cops asked Tony what he wants to do in America. Something like that. Knife
the guy in the trailer says, "from that, that line of work"....he sounds like he's is pointing or directing at something on the first time he says "that"...just my 2 cents I think it just sounds like he's choosing his words carefully. Like "that... (hmm, how best to put it...) that line of work". It's definitely a monologue, it'd be weird if he was actually speaking quite like that to someone. Linki
The GTA V trailer and the RDR trailer are very, very similar. If we want to find out as much as we can from the GTA V trailer, we need to look towards the RDR trailer. Firstly, both run at a time of 1:25. I guess this is the time they do debut trailers now. Secondly, notice how the first half of both trailers are very sentimental and calm, showing off the life in each locations? Then it kicks in halfway through and becomes much more fast paced with the music changing accordingly. Thirdly and most importantly, the narration. The narrator for the RDR trailer turned out to be a side character, so it could be the same for the GTA V trailer. However, because of the IV trailer, I doubt that. The lines the guy says are too specific and protagonist-like that it is almost certainly the protagonist who is talking. As someone else said, the narration is probably a bunch of lines mixed together from the game. I guarantee in the next trailer, there will be a constantly face pace, showing a gun being fired at some points. The first gun that was fired in the IV trailer Niko's AK and that was his signature weapon which was used in the last cutscene, so perhaps whatever the first gun that is fired in the next trailer will be the characters signature weapon and might be used in the last cutscene. Maybe I'm seeing too deeply into things, but it's interesting.
Jimbatron
" why did I move here? well you know that thing..... that magic..." who could he be talking too? I'm sure nikos " life is complicated " speech was in the game of gta4 In the GTA IV trailer, Niko's quotes are believe are to two seperate people. I think (from memory) "Life is complicated... I smuggled people, sold people, killed people." is to Illeyna Faustin, but the next sentence "Maybe here, things will be different" is to Michelle(?) even though it sounds like one conversation. Difficult to tell if the V monologue is specifically for the trailer, or if it is from conversation(s) in the game.

Jokeri
There are this kind of speeches almost in every good crime movie. In the trailer the Protagonist is thinking about his life and the choises he made. It gives the trailer somekind of remembering mood and it makes the Protagonist more living and breathing. That if he is talking by himself or to another person doesent matter. Its pretty obvious that the Protagonist is regretting what he has done. I think that is one of the main themes in V. -Jokeri-
