Aslong u can get lod for trees, you can have as many u like else not all will spawn and will become invisible.

But it looks good, keep up icon14.gif

Btw: I hope u don't do each tree at time by hand, use advance painter script/plugin for max it easy the progress by just painting trees to ur surface in max smile.gif

Thanks man, I tried it and it works well, better than the Graphite Modelling Paint.

I have to move some trees tho, but it's still better!

---

Thanks to the others too, I will recheck the posts when I will search for beta testers biggrin.gif

Anyway, here's some more progress:

To keep the collisions of the trees and a good view distance I had to create 2 wpls: one with the standard distance and the other with a better view distance.

I will have to edit it when I will learn how to create lods for the standard objects.

I'm using Icenhancer 2.0N!

SpoonTheMan

Some questions about Beta-Testing this mod: 1.What does a Beta Tester need to do(for this mod)? 2.How long will the Beta-Testing phase last (When will the mod go public)? 3.Is a beta tester (of this mod) allowed to share the mod with friends? 4.If I couldn't start/had to stop Beta-Testing this mod, would that be alright (especially for game-stability reasons)?

1. A Beta Tester need to do the Beta tester: I need feedback for improvements and bugs.

2. The private beta testing will last when the map will be ready for the public, (ready to be tried, not fully developed)

3. I can't know if you share it with your friends, but because it's a w.i.p. version and private, I ask you to do not share it to make the development better.

4. Everyone can have other things to do, so yes, but If possible I ask for feedback to create something better.

@Tori_95: that was icenhancer 1.35 with the Packet Config, now I'm using icenhancer 2.0N.

Soon a simple teaser, I have to add some trees tho. smile.gif

Hi Steelita,

you project is amazing, so big !!!

Just one advice, as a "modder" (i've created DESERT IV), i've made some mistakes, dont do like i did, take attention to details, dont hurry because one or a lot want this mod.

Take your time to locate bushes (not so heavy, no need collision, and land is less empty), maybe some electrical towers, rocks (already made in GTA IV datas, just change size), also some country farms, wind turbine (those i made dont turn but now you can make it them working)...

If you need some ideas, add me on msn or send me mp

Good luck !!

Thanks icelaglace!

I follow your icenhancer and use it on my GTA, it's awesome biggrin.gif

@nine30: Thanks for you useful suggestions!

I started modding my map with your Desert IV and It was going to be really good, I really liked it!

I know, It's difficult to make a map and keep everything secret.

I did the error of showing something and now sometimes I feel a bit rude because I still don't have a release date/plan.

I requires so much time and effort, especially if you want to do it like a R* Map.

For now it's really uncomplished, that grass texture and collisions everywhere are so annoying...

selecting polygons and converting them to rock material it's a shame, most of all if you realize that you can't split the object because you will need it united to do a seamless blended material, and the CPU can't do much more..

But this is another story...

I will try to not go in a hurry and do it as better as possible, that's my target!

Anyway, I hope you will return with some big map!

I will probably contact you for some questions, in the meantime I added every type of trees and I started studying which to add

(I prefer the EFLC ones, they are really better than the originals as far as I can see)

Is that a Bati Custom ?? Nice texture  smile.gif

Yes it's a Bati custom, but I wanted a livery like the double custom!

Anyway, here's a little update: My first teaser for this map!

On another file, I successfully finished the selection of the base rock material.

Now I'm trying to create the blended materials.

Looks fine. But I think u should cover the entire map with trees. But if doing so I guess you have to put the original GTA 4 trees only next to the roads (as you already made!) and cover the rest with low poly fake trees. To make it look good but not make it lag.

But of course it is your decision! smile.gif

Everything looking good.

Except the bridge, and your maps needs other detail like grass, bushes , and other things.

Btw Steel, i like the blended wip picture i hope it's going to export well to game!

Last time i've tryied blending materials my mountain rock turned into green/blue stuff with one texture correct biggrin.gif

If it does work u may need to give me some info about how u did it tounge.gif

Looking really nice. Maybe if you added bushes you could make it look more lively. Like on this picture:

Also some insane steep drops would look nice with concrete / railing keeping you from falling down:

Like those suggestions, +1 to that,

Well it's a work in progress. That means we like what we see so far, but it'd look better if he added those. As a matter of fact this is one of the work in progresses, that already looks good.
