I live in L.A and I approve General's facts, I see gangstas everyday !!! @ Static Thanks, I do try to base my conclusion on facts. @ monkeycan8 I don't just watch TV documentaries on U.S. street gangs, I also read up on various material about them too, from a variety of very credible sources. I have also spoken to people who live in LA too. I don't have to live in Los Angeles ghettoes or even to join these gangs to gain in-depth knowledge on them. But ok, fine you have your views, I have mine. And you don't need to know my age.
Triple Vacuum Seal
Gangs in la are not as big as they were in the 90's get over it.. You're obviously clueless. yes he is clueless. Gangs in L.A. don't blatantly run rampant in the streets and create mayhem as much as they did in the 1980s and early 90s, but L.A. gangs are way way larger and influential than they used to be. The drug war has made gang leaders exponentially more powerful and lethal than they used to be at the time of SA as these new Latin American gangs in L.A. have far more corruption influence and advanced weaponry than they used to have. The intensity of gang violence has been contained but gang influence and wealth has grown significantly. "shut up, sit down, relax"

skillz7855
Gang presents in LS(LA) would diff be there and you can probably tell the differences from good parts of the city to bad parts of the city Unlike in IV.
Vin89
If their isn't* bloods/crips *compton * gang activity Rockstar is racist imo Not really sure how that's racist, but obviously they will be in the game as it's a clear representation of LA. Considering R* have already made a game with a black protagonist somehow I doubt racism is on R*'s agenda. I mean why wouldn't it feature Compton? I know Staten Island wasn't in GTA IV for some reason, but Compton is the first thing to come to mind when thinking of South Central LA. It would be like VC without Little Havana. Of course Compton (or whatever its GTA name is) will be in GTA V. nah, R* ain't racist. They just hate women. That's okay.
Vormek
Is the westside/eastside beef still going on? Or did it die along with oldschool rap music?
Official General
Is the westside/eastside beef still going on? Or did it die along with oldschool rap music? @ Vormek LOOOOL!! I'm nearly p*ssed my pants laughing man!! You clearly don't know much about that do you ?? Ha ha ha ha ha!! What westside-eastside beef are you talking about here ? If it is to do with gangs in general, there was no such beef that existed like that at all ! There has never been any kind of beef or war in the U.S. between gangs from the west coast vs gangs on the east coast. For instance, what would be the point of street gangs from Los Angeles travelling thousands of miles across the U.S. to New York City just to have beef ? They don't live in the same cities to be competeing with each other, so there would no reason for any beef between the two regional gangs to take place. Now if you are referring to the west coast-east coast beef that happened in the rap music/hip hop industry during the 1990s (which I assume you are), that was not really a coast-to-coast beef as such. It was in reality just a major, commercial rivalry between two of the biggest rap music record labels at the time and they were based on opposite sides of the U.S. coast, and it just got way out of hand because the two groups had strong connections to street gangs (hip hop is a product of the ghetto streets). The two labels were Death Row Records (Los Angeles) and Bad Boy Records (New York City). Death Row had ties to the Bloods street gangs in LA, while Bad Boy had ties to various street gangs and drug crews from NYC, and that was the reason for sometimes violent confrontations between the two camps. Aside from the shooting deaths of Tupac and Biggie and a few other shootings, that rap music bi-coastal rivalry was mostly just music industry rivalry, it was not really anything directly to do with gangs or anything like that. That beef in rap music has long been dead anyway, for like over 15 years now. Edited February 7, 2012 by Official General
SmoothGetaway
Is the westside/eastside beef still going on? Or did it die along with oldschool rap music? @Vormek Kind of, but not really to the same magnitude as during the 2Pac/Biggie beef of the 80's/90's. Someone up thread was wondering if the player will get treated differently by gang members based on the color of their clothes. I hope so, seeing as thats what happens in SoCal right now. People do take fashion seriously here, for a variety of reasons!
