HydraulicWaRiOr
C to the J - I'm having a simple conversation with another board member - I don't need you to start posting internet meme's. If you have something to say - be respectful and act your age and join in the conversation. We have enough of the 12 year olds posting unnecessary things here. Yeah I even admit that was noob like of me, and I apologize like that, I rarely if ever do that. Anyhow, I think Ned Luke (or his look alike in the game at lease) looks fit enough to me, and he dosen't seem much older than 40-45 tops in that balcony shot (I know the real Luke is in his 50's though but dosen't mean the protag will) which isn't that old, so he'd still be in good shape if he took care of his body well enough over his life time. Well, John Marston was about 38 - 40, No one complained about him being too old, Although it may not matter that much. Plus, Take a look at this. This is a group of bankrobbers in Sweden, An infamous bunch known as "Gubbligan" (Litteraly "The old man gang"), They are between 52 and 72 years old: From left to right: The gangleader Jan "Nisse pistol / Nisse the gun" Nilsson, Ulf "The Stockholmer" Nilsson and Peeter "The blaster" Pohla. Pretty much speaks for itself. Good for you. This is L.A, not Sweden. We do things a little more different around here. [supreme]
GlaswegianOutlaw
Again, Johnny is 34 (the oldest IV era protag), Billy Grey is late 30's, and Jim Fitzgerald is 45. All of these characters are completely badass asskickers, and they are 'old'. I'd rather play as a guy like them than some 21 year old musclehead who swears in every sentence. I have said this before on here many times. I do not care how "bad ass" the protagonist is, there is more to a GTA protagonist than simply being a bad ass. Anyone can go get a gun and go walking around like their a real bad ass, regardless of their age, that don't mean sh*t when you really think about it. I know an older guy can still kick ass, but so what ? There is are a number of other specific reasons, some of which I and others have already stated, as to why we do not want a middle-aged protagonist in GTA V. And I don't remember anyone on here who wants a younger protagonist saying that they wanted a " 21 year old musclehead " that swears a lot. I certainly did not say that I want that, so I have no idea how you came up with that bullsh*t. It's a great idea to think before you speak and not just say an random sh*t off the top of your head just because you think it makes sense or sounds right. You may end up just looking like a fool otherwise. First, settle down. Second, the reason I mentioned the word badass is because people are talking sh*t like "Ooo, he's an old fart he'll break a hip", rather than offering constructive reasons. I get that you did offer reasons, but I still don't agree with them. Here's why. It is a different view in a GTA game, to start at the top rather than to be a 'Rags-to-Riches' sort of game, which has definetely been done in GTA more than once. In my opinion, playing as someone who knows what he is doing, has experience of this line of work before and is intelligent would be much more satisfying. My small post didn't require a three paragraph rant, nor did it require you to become a smart ass, loud-mouth arsehole. I'm settled. I came at you because you brought up that tired, played-out comment along the lines of "old guys can still be bad ass and kick butt" aimed at those like me who don't wanna play as that middle-aged, older Ned Luke guy. I've heard it on here a million times now and it's getting old fast, no pun intended, and its getting on my nerves. We don't need a whole army of you guys convincing us an older guy can be bad ass, OK ? I only really had a pop at you for the " swearing musclehead" comment you made because I thought it sounded so incredibly stupid lol. I'm pretty sure most people who oppose an older protagonist don't think he's physically unfit, there is more to it than that, not everyone is saying that, I've read the comments. And if they are, they are more than likely just joking about and older guy being physically unfit, its probably a bit of fun and said in jest to back up their reasons. And you seem to take it so seriously. People want a younger protagonist because either they just do or there is more to it than that. And I did not say anything about a rags-to-riches story. Again where do you hear me say that ? All I stated was that I want a younger protagonist, as its more interesting to see his character and criminal career develop as I progress further through the game, it don't always mean its about rags-to-riches. A younger protagonist does not have to even start off poor. I did not specify the background, I just wanted a young protagonist for the reason I explained. Read my posts properly and stop making sh*t up and having your own interpretations. And I will write what I want to write in length, that is up to me. If you wanna read it read it, if not you are not forced to respond. You seem to think I aimed a personal attack at you. What the f*ck? Settle the f*ck down. You told me that I'm taking it to seriously? Your the one who's writing massive paragraphs about how your 'tired of people like me'. Like I said, you assumed I made some personal attack on you, that me and a bunch of other people have been making the same argument over and over again. Now, look at my join date. And look at the date I made that post. I haven't been making the same argument over and over - I just made it for the first time! Now, calm the f*ck down. Linki
There is nothing wrong with the middle aged man we see in the trailer. And there is nothing wrong with the young Hispanic man we see as well. Rockstar could make anyone a great protagonist. And HydraulicWarrior, stop being so close minded.
Diego Delgado
So what, the guy is older who gives a sh*t. That doesnt stop older criminals from kicking ass f*ck look at good fellas lol. It could always be worse, we could see bernie crane as the new protag LMAO that would be a f*cking ship wreck right there.

I had a dig at your views, not you personally but you cannot see this. You are obviously new here and you are not used to the occasionally heated verbal battles and debates we have each other here, its just what happens. I now realize it is a shock to your system, so I'll be a bit understanding of this and go a lil' easy on you. You clearly did not read my posts properly. I did not say anything about you directing a personal attack on me, where do you get that from ? I said nothing of the sort. This is about GTA, its not that serious for me to shout out that you are "personally attacking me". You don't need to get all worked up. I'm trying to have a discussion here and not an argument, which you seem intent on doing (see below). I will ask that you stop repeating and telling me to do two things : 1) I don't need you to keep telling me to calm down, you are not my psychiatrist. I am calm, believe me when I say am. Like I have told you, it's only GTA, a video game, nothing anyone says to me here is personal to me, I don't know anyone on here personally for me to get worked up about this stuff. You got that ? 2) I also don't need you to point how long my comments are. I will write whatever amount of words I want to write. I personally don't think they are that long, but I do like to be very clear on things. If you don't want to read my comments then just DO NOT READ them - you don't have to read them, simply ignore them. You got that too ? When I am made to repeat myself it gets on my nerves a lot, and this is the last time I'm gonna do it regarding this discussion. Like I said I'm here for discussion about GTA, not personal arguments. Respect my wishes and I will respect yours. If not, I assume you will still not have got the message and we can just end this particular discussion. Are we clear on that ?? I hope we are. John The Grudge
Jason Statham is in his mid 40s. Dan Henderson is 42. Van Damme is 52. Tom Cruise is 50. Robert Downey JR is 47. I now realize it is a shock to your system, so I'll be a bit understanding of this and go a lil' easy on you. Don't patronize me. I've been to other sites before, and many of them are worse than this place. Maybe your trying to show your 'veteran' mentality, and thats why your talking down to me like this, but I can't have a discussion with someone who has that mindset. And look, your still saying that I'm taking this seriously, when it is you who keeps crying at me saying you don't need to calm down. You do - and your taking this seriously enough to write out a long list of reasons why I'm 'wrong'. What you need to do is calm down, step away from the keyboard, take a deep breath and realise that I'm not right, your not right, that we're all just voicing our opinions. At the end of the day, no one gives a f*ck what you think. Are we finished? Edited May 1, 2012 by GlaswegianOutlaw

GTAMadrid
I really don't know why people hate on 'balcony guy'. What if he's in his fifties? That doesn't mean he can't be athletic, just look at Jimmy from Mafia 2's DLC Jimmy's Vendetta, he wasn't exactly the young type, but he still could handle himself quite well and jump fences and do stuff like that with the greatest of ease. Fizzbitch21
I bet you that the story will be similar to RDR. Marston wanted to start a new life and do good for once but no matter what he did he was being pulled back into his old life style until towards the end of the game when he is truly happy. And then he dies. After his death his son Jack becomes the main character. I don't think this guy has any children but I do think that he will have a successor that will be playable in the game. Rauland
Really I don't have a problem with Ned Luke, I think it would be kinda cool to play him as. So because some people on here don't want to play as a middle-aged protagonist in GTA V, they must all be a waste of sperm ?? You need f**cking relax and calm the f*ck down. I am as calm as I could be, and pointing out what a stupid opinion it is to not want to play as "an old man" because apparently they can't do all the things a 20-so year old can does not mean I'm worked up. They make it seem like life at its prime is between 17 and 25. That's a bloody sh*t reason there, also I'm not buying the "I can identify myself with the character if he's around my age" excuse, that's bollocks. You can identify with anyone regardless of age.
