SmoothGetaway
Dudes, why would they spend a few million to put a commercial on TV during a game that only citizens of one country really care about? Especially since it'll just end up on Youtube (for free) anyway.
InstantCClassic
If there isn't a super bowl commercial I'll be pretty surprised. I wouldn't. I can honestly see a GTA V TV spot airing during the NBA Eastern/Western Conference Series towards the Finals.
Ash_735
Portal is starting to sound like an EA title. EDIT: Looks like I struck a nerve there! Are you one of those guy's who hates every other game except GTA, that's like the 4th other series I've seen you slate now for no real reason but you keep sucking GTA's dick. It's a brilliant series, but there are other things that are good to, stop going around slating other games that people like just because you're too pathetic and closed minded to not try anything else. DynamicInABox
The majority of Sales don't come from America... Thats just stupid... It sells thousands in every country in the world... Isuck100%
The majority of Sales don't come from America... Thats just stupid... It sells thousands in every country in the world... America only makes up a fraction of their sales... Here are the numbers according to VGChartz: GTA IV (360) Total Sales: 9.42M North America: 5.65M Europe: 2.70M Japan: 0.13M Others: 0.94M GTA IV (PS3) Total Sales: 8.94M North America: 3.95M Europe: 3.18M Japan: 0.38M Others: 1.43M So between the two console versions of GTA IV, we have: Total Sales: 18.36M North America: 9.60M Europe: 5.88M Japan: 0.51M Others: 2.37M That puts approximately 52% of sales in North America, which is indeed the majority of sales. Meezarawcks
As far as saying, "There might be a GTA V commercial during Superbowl." isn't a bad idea to get the news out to the people who like GTA but aren't fully aware of its existence. http://hudsonvalley.ynn.com/content/top_st...super-bowl-ads/ More than 100 million people will tune in to Super Bowl 46 on Sunday, many of them just for the commercials. But as Tamara Lindstrom reports, this year, advertisers are trying new tricks to get viewers talking. I don't think that R* want to shell out the kind of money just for one promotional ad but it might get something going.

I like this guy! So, just because I don't like a game, I'm close-minded Portal is not my cup of tea; never was never will. Max Payne was not my cup of tea either. Games I like are games that include the following: 1) Racing 2) Action 3) Adventure 4) Shooting 5) Realism 6) Roleplay 7) Police 8) Getting in trouble with the law Not only that, I'm very, VERY picky about what games I want to play and frankly, everything nowadays is "shoot 'em up". You could argue and say that GTA "is a shoot 'em up too"; to an extent it is. Back to my point, I don't spend money on a game unless I like it or actually want to spend my money on it. Our economy sucks and I want to make sure I get a game I'm going to enjoy. Portal; pass. Max Payne; pass. GTA V? Bring it on!
Staten
Why would Rockstar shell out for an advert for a game that's at the very least 6 months away? The first trailer reveal shows they could get the effect they want by simply putting out a tweet and closing down their website.

Valve is one of the best developers around. How could you say that? You've obviously never played Gary's Mod or L4D/L4D2 or Half Life or Counter Strike. Every game they make is almost perfect in it's execution. I'm a hard critic of video games and I can easily get bored of a game, but I played L4D2 constantly for about a year and a half ever since I got it. Even if you hate Portal itself for some unapparent reason, anyone who has played it has to admit that it has some of the best dialogue in any video game. The damn thing even starts memes, such as the Companion Cube, or the Combustible Lemons meme, I for one have never seen as many memes errupting from a series other than Skyrim, and that won GOTY in November. (Not to mention that Portal won GOTY in 2007) And have you ever heard either soundtracks? Three of some of the best songs I've EVER heard from a video game exist in the Portal series: All of which were done by the esteemed opera singer Ellen Mclain, so I don't know where you get your attitude saying that Portal and Valve are bad in any way, but you're wrong, and you're missing out on a great game. Because if you had, you would realize there are many people whom only watch the ads, and you would also know the reason why. That being said, I dont think R* will be showing anything during the superbow. Would be a waste of money for them. And for mister close-minded... Portal rocks. And for anyone whohas only played 2, you're missing out alot by not playing the first one.
