Features from Other Games

What features or gameplay mechanics in other games would you like to see in GTA V?

What features could V benefit from?

For example: the car saving feature from the Saints Row series, or the weapon wheel from RDR

I would like to see the inventory menu from RDR, for storing items such as bandannas (robberies) and health restoring items.

I would like some things that actually improve the gameplay. As far as actually stealing cars I wish you could lock pick them like you do in Mafia II. Someone actually made a pretty comprehensive thread about it.

Also I believe the fighting could be ramped up a little bit. I have recently been playing Bully and the fighting in that is similar to The Warriors game. R* should pick up some tips from there previous games to get better hand to hand combat.

Isn't this just a wishlist topic?

Anyway I'd like to see lots of unlockables like in Bully.

kind of, but more of a 'wishlist from other games' topic, not just made up features lol

Checkpoints, checkpoints, CHECKPOINTS!

Being pulled over by the police like on Mafia II, and paying a fine or bribe instead of them just shooting you.

Wannabe in LS

The rope and horses in the countryside from RDR. I'm sure the horses could form some sort of illegal business plan and the rope would be fun for online and offline shenanigans.

I think the features or gameplay mechanics in other games that we see have the impact or even slight influences that they benefit from GTA games.

For GTA its a setting benchmark for many other games and have made a huge dough from the GTA formula significantly and partly original innovision that could be again attributed as an influence of past GTA games

GTA is simply GTA best in every aspect just short on perfection.

I'd like to see more gore. I want limbs to be blown off if i throw a grenade at someone. I remember gta3 havin a cheat code that allowed you. to do this.

GRINCH ASS BITCH

Lol, while it's quite useless and won't actually improve the gameplay, I'd like to see the ability to steal car radios a la "The Warriors". I'd also like to see some of the fighting mechanics from The Warriors; those big 9 vs 9 brawls were epic (in my opinion).

Pretty much all the gameplay mechanics in RDR could improve the gameplay somehow. The ones I like most are the weapons wheel and multiplayer gameplay. Also in RDR, when you have your gun out, your character runs by default, in GTA 4 he just walks. Other than that I think cars should be saved in your garage so that if they blow up or you lose them you get to go back and find them there. Then you could actually use them instead of letting them collect dust in the garage.

The health system from RDR, how it's starts going red and gets darker, then you recover your health after a while.

This wouldn't eliminate the need for food however, because hunger and health should be treated as two different things. If you don't eat for a while, you become progressively sluggish and weak, until you fall over and collapse.

Checkpoints, checkpoints, CHECKPOINTS!

I respect your opnion but i have to DISAGREE! GTA games are already easy.. It will be easier with checkpoints.. Anyway i would like GTA V to have the facial animations used in the Uncharted series! They look so REAL! , Also a hardcore mode (like Fallout: NV) which makes the game way harder and more realistic would be welcomed.. DO IT!! R*

Not having checkpoints, especially during lengthy missions, is a pain-in-the-ass.

It's easy to say taking from RDR, because it's obvious GTA V's going to take and build upon that anyway. I'm just saying, though.

Anyway, I'm not really sure what I'd like for GTA V to have from other games. All I play really is Rockstar's games, hahah. But contrary to what I said in that last sentence, I think the "assassinations" from RDR would be cool, but I hope that when it's activated, the camera angle won't change, because it looks so much cooler and smoother with the default camera angle.

I'd like to sneak up on people and break their necks, or grab them and smash their faces into walls like in the Warriors. I really enjoyed the hand to hand, and ability to hide in the dark in that game, it improved the replay value dramatically. Also, the stealthy type missions from Syphon Filter would also be a great addition. While we're on Syphon Filter, how about the stun gun. You could shoot people from a distance, and if you held the trigger, the person you shot would shake and spontaneously combust. I spent countless hours playing that game, just using the stun gun and watching your victims burn while screaming in agony.

Algonquin Assassin

This isn't a feature that has anything to do with gameplay, but it is something I've noticed from a lot of games and it's being able to pause during cutscenes.

It annoys me in GTA IV (Well all GTA games) when there's a really good cutscene and the phone rings or someone knocks on your door making you miss crucial plot points.

It's so simple yet it would make things a lot less frustrating when you get some unexpected disturbance.

What did you's all think of that hook thing from Just Cause 2?

It would be pretty neat to get hold of something like that near the end of the game. Or even as just a cheat.

On the other hand it was pretty extreme and unrealistic.

Yes! I loved this in RDR. Someone in the house always tries to talk to me when there's a cool cutscene going on.

Boring repetitive gameplay, like in Max Payne 3.

Oh wow you have played MP3? How was it?

Oh another opinion. I was hoping for better.

SO lets see how will that improve V's gameplay?

Did you not understand the topic?

From what ive seen, you run through the whole game holding down the "fire cool bullets" button. Sounds great...
