People are going to come here to call you an "asshole", but it's actually nice to see more realists in the GTA V section. It seems like well over half of the GTA V section is filled with conspiracists (my guess is at least 80%). If you have been here before GTA IV was released, then you would know the deal. Right now Take-Two has other priorities, but we'll hear info within a few months and I guarantee before E3. We know now that it is in full development and it's coming out sometime in the next fiscal year. So we have, at most, about a year before it comes out, but it'll probably come out in October, which is what everybody's been saying. I think everybody needs to chill out. Rockstar knows what they're doing and they do care about the fans. 3 months is a long time, but not nearly as bad as what the Max Payne fans had to go through. The parent of GTA publisher Rockstar Games has just reported a drop in profits for its fiscal Q3 ending December 31st, but is confident its next financial year beginning April 1st 2012 and ending March 31st 2013 will be much stronger for the firm. Yes, that's when all the big-time games are released but with good reason; people are out shopping. There's just simply more people wandering the shops. Even in the economic times the whole world is suffering from, people still open their wallets excessively during the holidays, and therefore a franchise like GTA will always sell more copies around that time as opposed to a summer release with no other true competition. Kids who are younger and don't have a steady stream of income will get parents/relatives to get them the game as a present. it's also a time in where game consoles themselves see a rise in units sold, and for people just getting a new console, a brand new GTA game to go along with it sounds pretty enticing. There's all sorts of reasons as to why a fall release is the most beneficial. If TTWO really want that $2/share increase, they're going to HAVE to release GTAV in fiscal 2013, because they've set themselves up to fail now by making such a bold earnings statement. Vormek Posted February 4, 2012 Share Posted February 4, 2012 A christmas release sounds very possible if you ask me. It's like ten and a half months left so it's pretty alright. Hopefully they won't release too much about the game, like telling us every single new feature.
