The money that Ned Luke would be able to win in lawsuits would easily suck away all their profits, and then some. Phil Collins appeared as himself in GTA: VCS. Katt Williams, Ricky Gervais, and Frankie Boyle appeared as themselves at Split Sides in GTA IV or TLAD. Many, many characters are modeled to look like their voice actors, such as Dwayne Forge who looks like his actor Devin Richards. In GTA SA, CJ's face is Young Maylay's face. A Russian TV clip turned up last year where Vladimir Mashkov confirmed he was offered the role of Niko Bellic, but he turned it down because at the time he didn't understand video game acting and didn't take it seriously. Since Rockstar wanted to base Niko on Sasha from Behind Enemy Lines, it's a reasonable guess that if Mashkov had taken the job his face would have been scanned and Niko would look exactly like him, just as the GTA V protagonist looks like Ned Luke. Both are in the "HD" era. Rockstar's logic seems to be that they want to protect the image of III-era characters as they were and not recreate them in HD because that sort of says how they looked before is obsolete. The same designers are still working on this series, so it's not like Tomb Raider where Lara Croft is just a corporate property that gets passed down from studio to studio. It's sort of out of the blue, if you ask me..Think about it, how many of you here would honestly know who Young Maylay was without these forums? I sure wouldn't have a damn clue. Yet, the man that is highly suspected to play the lead role in GTAV (or at least one of the leads..) starts to follow the man who who had the previous lead role in San Andreas on Twitter. Something seems a tad bit fishy, but that's just my opinion. For all of those saying GTAIII era characters, especially CJ won't make a return, maybe Young Maylay does play a role in V, but not as CJ. This to infinite. Also let's keep in mind that the IV era isn't necessarily the same as the GTA V era (even regardless of the diamond guy from the intro of GTA IV making a return). For all we know every old GTA protaganist could make an appearance, it's theoretically possible. Rockstar only spoke about IV being part of the 'HD era' versus the previous GTA games. Then his sister and cousin also was in touch with him and talked to people about V. On-topic: CJ won't return. This is the HD era, III era (LQ) and HD Era (HD) cannot mix. Only never appearing roles can be in, such as lazlow. Also all the characters/protags have their face modelled after their voice, and if anyones predicting that the guy in the car or whatever is CJ, it isn't. For a start the face is completely different, and the one looking at dat girls ass is most probably a pedestrain just made for the trailer.
