tomzzzlv
Hi, I am having annoying problem with GTA EFLC version 1.1.1.0. You see, I've downloaded new vehicles and that's it, but upon starting the game, textures of environment (houses, streets etc.) keep loading very slow or not at all. Is there any possible solution? I know this thread will keep lying here un-noticed, but I'd be glad, that all possibilities should be noted by you guys, wheter its a patch, fix, mod, anything. So far, I've tried: * lower graphics settings to absolute minimum [no result] * use commandline.txt OR commandlines at shortcut target with such lines: -norestrictions -noprecache -novblank -notimefix [no result] * use CCcleaner and SmartDefrag 2 to defragment and clean all drives [no result] * use traffic spawn mods [no result] * update NVidia drivers to latest [no result] So far, most of methods are covered, please post alternatives as it might help not only me, but overall audience, cause of the sh*tty optimisation by Rockstar Games in conjunction with mods. As a reminder, this same issue happened with GTA 4 1.0.4.0. System specs: Core2Quad Q8200 2,33GHz, 4GB RAM, GeForce 9800GTX+, Windows 7 32bit. Should I provide any other information? Please, don't be ignorant. Thanks in advance.

radioman
Have you tried a Complete un-install, delete the rest of the install directory that did not get deleted by the traditional un-install, then re-install the game and play the game WITHOUT mods? This will solve the problem, as it looks like the mods are the problem...Here's proof from a moderator(Justin) to back that up: If you've got a problem and you're using mods, the problem is the mods - no questions. These problems belong in Editing Troubleshooting. If you've got a problem and you 'know' it's not the mods ( rolleyes.gif yawn.gif ), uninstall the mods and ask for help then, and only then. Don't waste our time by posting issues with modded games! All modding discussions should be directed this-a-way. The "This a way" is the link to the modding forums.. The problem you have is you do not have enough usuable ram to support mods, and this is likely what's causing the problems...
tomzzzlv
Thanks of advice. In the future, maybe updating to 64bit OS could help? That would allow more than 4GB to be used.
mkey82
cause of the sh*tty optimisation by Rockstar Games in conjunction with mods. Mods are not officially supported so R* really doesn't give a f*ck about them. Well, they don't care that much about the vanilla game, but nevertheless. Does the game work better without mods? Costar
You have a better pc than mine but I can still play the game well enough and mods def make a difference. You said you dld nothing but cars, well some cars make more of an impact on the game than others, some cause alot of lines/detail in roads to disappear etc.. Still, mods are not the only problem, the game has always had grphx issues for which they tried to fix some. More ram always helps a system and yea a 64bit OS will allow you to fully use the 4GB you already have and more if your boards supports more. Right now you're actually using about 3.xGB of ram, even if the system recognizes all 4GB it isnt using all of it just cause its the limitation. These are game settings for this vid but I am also testing iCEnhancer grphx mod BUT w/ vanilla shaders because the mod shaders cause crashes. My game still has blurry textures in places & you see in the vid stuff sorta appear, its not just your game or pc. Its alot smoother when fraps is not recording tho, I need a quad core! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_5rOGvAvm8 Like mkey82 asked, how is yours doing w/out mods ? How many cars do you have ingame ? tomzzzlv
Well, I returned to good ol' GTA4. Updated to 1.0.7.0, same settings in default and everything worked just fine. No lags, texture loading is almost unnoticeable. Tried updating with few car mods, at the moment - 8 and textures seem to be loading just a bit raw, not so smooth, but still not that bad as it was with EFLC. I dont know, some issues slowed down the process with VehicleSelector for EFLC, now with SimpleNative Trainer it seem to be ok. I've gotta add more vehicles and see when it breaks. tomzzzlv
After 30 more models it started the same old problem. The latest model was Smokey8008's 2012 BMW M5, after its (or too many) model load, game started to load textures slow or not at all. It may be the high poly Forza 4 model ,but I really doubt it, it might be too much models overall.
