Korpi
Well, more open places is a good thing for sure. Hope that we see quite much more of them than in IV.

dansgas1000
the interiors were very good in GTA IV there were quite alot of them but i think in V there should come in more use so you can do stuff in them etc.. maybe a multiplayer shootout or something

Xayias
Wouldn't it be cool if R* put if a spin-off of Gamestop in the game and when you go there you access the PSN Store, or Market Place for DLC and what not????

Also if they would to do that and take any inspiration from PS Home we would find a flock of 10 guys trolling NPC Pedestrians O.o
ChillyPhilly
Shopping malls are a big part of the lifestyles of residents of the Greater Los Angeles area. Most people who live in vast suburban districts/areas all drive to shopping malls surrounded by massive carparks (an issue known overall as car dependency). I think we can expect to see at least one major, 'modern' shopping mall. Given how that, in Los Angeles, the car is king, expect to see strong emphasis in V on roads, streets and carparks. Vast amounts of space will be dedicated to the automobile. Expect wide, open intersections and multiple massive freeway interchanges (like the Mulholland Intersection in the last-generation San Andreas) among other things. I'm maybe a little off-topic here. But I do hope that a mall would be enterable and fully interactable, like the Northpoint Mall in Vice City.
Magic_Al
I don't think it's the engine limiting interiors so much as the fact that it's that much more area to design and build. All the interior floorspace in a city might be greater than the outdoor area of the city! Absolutely agree with you here. I would imagine that it would take a hell of a long time to design countless different interiors - unless of course Rockstar decide to recycle the same interiors for different buildings, as was the case with GTA: San Andreas with several interiors being re-used for different buildings (I don't particularly want to see 50 copies of the same interior in different buildings). A few well-designed unique interiors is a whole lot better then the same interior used 50 times. I also agree that an enterable mall would be cool! San Andreas is a good example of why it's not the engine limiting things because they clearly couldn't get that engine to properly handle all the interiors in that game. They just did them anyway and relied on teleporting to fake it. Although there is a lot of repetition there's also surprising variety. There's actually more than one 24/7 store layout, which is neat but doesn't seem like it should be a priority if there are duplicate safehouse interiors that could be customized instead. There are also several unused interiors. You could say some design time was wasted because of less than perfect project management. GTA IV looks like a tighter-run ship, maybe too tight. AfroCrew2022
I don't really care about open buildings, but I hope that applies to stores and such, 4 clothing stores in an entire game is bullcrap. I'd like more customization. Still Alive Wtf is that Still Alive sh*t all the time? Thats like his f*cking sig mother f*cker just shut up and stop complaining like a weak little bitch Gta5 forever!!! 73duster
I do think that the mall from Vice City is STILL the best interior in the series to date. I'd love to see at least 2 major malls with not only stores, but other attractions as well. The airports should also have functioning interiors, including stores, different gates and conveyor belts for luggage. A full sized prison with an intricate interior layout should ALSO be part of the mix, and lastly, a cruise ship that is docked at a pier, with a full interior that is like a 5 star hotel. This IS possible. They were able to create a decent interior of a mall for Vice City, so i'm surprised they have'nt gone back to a similar layout. I think more interactive interiors are a must at this point, and would add VASTLY to the living, breathing city atmosphere in both size and complexity. Vice City was not really that big, but that mall REALLY added to the map as a whole.
Vormek
Here's what I had in mind. These skyscrapers in LA, most of them are office buildings. Imagine entering one of these and each floor is filled with people working on computers, have lunch breaks etc etc. You could create havoc on floor # 30 and soon the police will arrive with helicopters equipped with machine guns and they will try and you shoot you down by firing the machine gun through the glass. SWAT will jump out from helicopters onto the roof and and there will be cops everywhere, in the stairs and in the lobby so there's no way you can escape the building. Only chance is to jump out the window and hopefully you'll have a parachute. And then you'll land on the streets so you must escape on foot or a vehicle. Then a wild car chase around the whole Southern Californa will take place, high speed car chases on the freeway. Then you could make an exit and escape into the forest and climb that beautiful mountain with helicopters searching the place. My dream scenario
Triple Vacuum Seal
All I know is that by next generation after GTAV is done and another one is in the works....they better have an engine powerful enough to allow you to enter almost every building...including the skyscrapers "shut up, sit down, relax"
