My short film transcript

[Shaunr]

I'm making a short film for my senior project. I now almost completely regret it. I want to do a film that utilizes all of my ability, and more, and it's going to be extremely hard. My movie is going to require very good special effects, and I only have a vague idea on how to carry it out. That may be the least of my worries thought, because lot of people are going to be required to make this work like it is in the script, but I'm going to do all I can.

 

Anyway, here is my transcript. I could use some suggestions. I'm not yet sure what to call the movie.

 

 

 

 

Robert: "Come on Milo, get in the cage"

        (Robert opens cage and looks at Milo, who is right in front of the cage which was set in front of him. Milo stares blankly as Robert, almost stupidly)

 

          "OK fine. maybe you will go in If I put treats in there."

        (Robert goes to get treats and when he comes back, milo is in the cage and it is shut)

  "huh? Uhh well here's your treats I guess"

  (Robert looks confused, but he doesn't think too much of it. Robert picks up the cage and heads toward the door. The camera zooms in on the cat's eyes and they glow green, signifying the cat is not a normal cat.

 

(Cut to Jeff-  He is just getting up for school. A cat outside wakes him up. He realizes he is late. He quickly gets ready for school. He gets dressed and then only eats a bagel and rushes out the door with his backpack and drives himself to school.

 

 

(Cut to Classroom- Everyone is in class, and Robert is sitting with his cat in the cage. Jeff walks in right as the bell rings, and sits down right next to Jessica)

 

Jessica: "you just made it."

 

Jeff: "Yeah, well I would have been late if it wasn't for some cat that woke me up. I forgot to set my alarm."

 

Teacher: "OK class lets start our show and tell. You didn't have to bring anything, but if you did, raise your hand"

  (Robert is the only one who raises his hand)

 

 

Teacher: "Jeff? Only one? ok, well I guess he's the only one getting extra credit."

 

Most of class: *Confused and angry noises*

 

Billy: (Stands up in bewilderment) "Hey teacher, you didn't say nothin bout no extra credit!" (Billy is also a hill billy)

 

Most of class: "yeah" agreeing*

 

Teacher: "Well you all should listen like Robert. Robert, please show the class what you brought."

 

Robert: (Robert gets up and brings the cage to the front of the class.) "This is my cat, Milo. He's a pretty normal cat. He likes mice and lazer pointers, and uses the cat box most of the time. He's really soft and likes-

 

Billy: "Can we pet him?!

 

Robert: "Uh yeah, sure, I don't see why not. If you want to pet him, just line up.

 

Class: (About half the class comes up. Jeff is last. The cat just sits there, letting everyone walk by and pet him.)

 

Jeff: (It's finally Jeff's turn. He reaches for the cat and it bites his hand. He pulls it back and looks at it. the camera zooms in and shows what looks like a virus spreading.

 

Most Class: (mixed reactions. some laughing)

 

Robert: "Are you bleeding?"

 

Jeff: "A little, but it's alright.

 

Robert: "Ok good, and it doesnt have rabis. I think."

 

Jeff: "Well I think I'll be fine."

      (Jeff walks off frame)

 

Cut to Jeff at home: (Jeff is eating dinner with his parents. His dad is finished telling his wife his day. Jeff's mom asks how his day went.

 

Jeff: "Well is was pretty normal, but I got bit by a cat.

 

Jeff's mom: (starting to laugh) "A cat? *laughing more*"

 

Jeff's Dad: (also laughing) "How would that even happen"

 

Mom and dad: (both laughing hysterically now. camera zooms in on them, and then on Jeff who looks confused, and then the camera zooms in on his parents faces, who are still laughing, and  then it cuts to Jeff sleeping in bed)

 

Jeff: (He is sleeping in bed. The sun is starting to rise so there is a little visibility.He is starting to toss and turn.  The bed appears to get heavier.)

 

Cut to morning: (Jeff's alarm goes off. He goes to turn it off-but he smashes it. 

 

 

Jeff: "Huh?" (Jeff is shocked. He gets out of bed and reaches for the door. The door swings open without him touching it. Jeff can control objects with his mind.

 

Jeff looks at his hands in amazement. Then he remebers the cat bite. He looks for it but it is gone.

        He then opens his clothes drawers with his powers and takes out a shirt and pants.

 

Cut to: Jeff warps through his wall and outside his room. he uses his powers to play a his ipod on the stereo. He goes to make breakfast. he uses his powers to make a bagel with cream cheese, and pour himself juice.

        as he does this someone out the window sees him. Jeff sees them. his bagel falls. Jeff warps outside and tackles the guy.

 

Jeff: "What are you doing?"

 

Random guy: "H-how are you doing that?"

 

Jeff: (throws the guy and he dissappears into the distance.

 

Jeff: (warps back inside and eats his bagel. he realizes he only has a minute to get to school. eats his bagel at superspeed, and drinks at supserspeed. he runs outside with his backpack. he stands in the driveway,

      deciding what he will do next. he starts to float, and then he realizes he can fly. he decides to fly to school.

    he takes off. He arrvies at school and smashes the concrete when he lands. He walks to the school and sees people running and screaming, and then sees the cat that bit him, shooting lazers out of its eyes at the kids, and at the school.

      Jeff wants to keep his indentity secret. he looks in his bag for something to disguise himself. all he can find is a false moustache. he quickly puts it on and runs to the school at superspeed and tackles the cat. The cat kicks him in the face, and throws him back.

    The cat starts firing lazers at Jeff. Jeff dodges them all. a lazer hits a teacher's stack of paper's and they disintegrate.

 

Teacher: "All of my students' homework...gone..." (teacher starts to cry)

 

Jeff: (Jeff is at superspeed and goes around and grabs the cat again, looks at it, and then rips it in half.

     

People: (people cheer, and clap for Jeff)

 

Jeff: (Jeff is smiling. Voice over comes in, and then scene fades out) "I then knew what I had to do. (new scene fades in. Jeff is intercepting a robber. Robber shoots Jeff bullet does nothing. Jeff picks up robber and throws him a mile.) I had to protect the city, and keep my identity secret. (Jeff is standing on a building, looking out at the city) "I am Super Cat man."

I've made an update to my plot:

 

Instead of Jeff going to the school, the cat intercepts him as he goes outside to go to school after he discovers his powers. the cat talks to him and jeff can understand, because he speaks cat now. Jeff asks the cat why he gave him powers, and the cats says that he didn't, but his own cat did. the evil cat was trying to kill jeff when he bit him. Jeff didn't die because his own cat saved him, and gave him powers. the evil cat wants to kill jeff and his cat.

 

Then jeff ends up killing the cat when they fight, but jeff doesnt say he wants to fight crime. he's much more worried about being later for school. he flies off and the movie ends.
