3D market is still in its early days, but it is a market that is quickly growing. Many recent games have 3d incorporated into them, like Uncharted 3, GT5, Batman Arkham city etc, and it seems new games are also following that trend.

So do you guys want 3d? Answer the poll and then tell us why you love it or absolutely abhor it.

PS I've tried the search function numerous times, each time giving an error when I search specifically for 3d.

Meh 3D doesn't interest me, but I suppose an option wouldn't hurt.

Don't have a 3D tv yet but the option would be sweet. Why the hell not?

Eventually you won't need the stupid glasses and we'll be playing this game for years to come.

I only somewhat understand what you are saying, but yeah, 3D would be a sweet feature. I'd find someone's TV to play it on, sooner than later.

The technology is already here in ways, it's making it cost effective. Sony has a gaming 32" 3D tv for not much money, so don't sweet the I can't afford it thing as technology matures and becomes universally available.

I first played GTA 4 on a fairly ordinary panasonic tube TV, still playing same game, 1080P flat screen later. Don't wish for a limit you might want removed later.

Yes, but that is only true today, not necessarily 2 years from now. Lots can happen.

3D is played out like a jheri curl, GTA doesn't need to associate itself with that corny trend, the whole movement will be dead soon anyways

Not in this country, the theaters are packed with 3D titles and 3D tvs are for sale everywhere, even Walmart or places that sell low end electronics. Slowly getting cheaper and more popular.

I like 3D quite a bit, my phone is a 3D Android and works pretty good. I like the extra depth, although some 3D titles look a bit pop-up bookish. I think 3D has a real future here, especially as it gets better. Can't think of a reason as to why it would die?

It's being pushed and developed by the big studios after all.

Couldn't care less. Don't like 3D in general, even in the movies, though "Hugo" was exceptionally nice. But sitting in front of the monitor with the glasses on for hours? It's a bloody torture, that is.

3D's one of the biggest gimmicks out there, I would hate for time to be wasted producing it.

The question should be: will it 3D be in V, and the answer is 100% NO!. 3D is a gimmick and R* No likey gimmicks that other game companies use. Dan actually commented on the fact that R* want to avoid what other companies are doing in this interview.

Honestly, 3D in any form doesn't interest me. Sure, it would be a nice feature, but the novelty would probably wear off after about 5 minutes.

Hmm not sure about 3d dying out like you say. Sure, it hasn't picked up in the same way HD televisions have picked up, but thats not saying there's a lot of potential in that market.

I mean, Hollywood has been milking 3D for everything its got, and they are doing a fine job at it too. Corporate industries know very well where the money is at, and 3D pays big $$$$$

Just see the vid below to see what I mean:

PS anybody know how I can actually post the video here rather than just the hyperlink?

write [you tube] and then paste the numbers and letters only after the = sign in the youtube link (example your video would be 3FQDUX6X6-w), and then follow it up [/you tube]

Only remove the spaces in the word "youtube"

quote this reply and study the link before posting if that is unclear.

There are proto types, but they arnt commercially viable.. Take the 3DS for exmaple.. works for 1 person only anbd you have to look at it straight on.

So imagine that technology on a TV where you have to sit straight on, with a family? Firstly it wouldnt work.. secondly its very expensive on TV screens. Plus the amount of people that complained about the 3Ds making them sick.

3D screens are in their infancy or teething stages right now. Expect it everywhere sooner or later. Like the Nintendo 3DS, my LG smartphone also has a 3d screen where I watch 3d videos or play 3d games on it, and it is very good but has no side viewing capabilities because of the screen emulsion layer technology at the moment (which is only beatable if you have a 3d screen requiring passive or active glasses).

Passive - Theater with two projectors with polarized lens filters matching left and right polarized lenses in glasses. Each eye sees a different camera projection because of the different polarizations.

Active - Home TV. Electronic glasses that actively dim right and left lenses separating the two images hosted by the tv screen.

No Glasses - Only available today on small screens. An emulsion layer sends the different 3d images to each eye by sort of aiming it. Drawbacks are you'll need to be farther away or closer depending on how far apart your eyes are and no side viewing possible.

News - Companies like Panasonic are starting to manufacture passive lens LCD 3d tvs. Lighter glasses with improved effects.

Sooner or later active technology with heavy battery powered glasses will be old school. Like those blue and red glasses. If there is any consistency over the many decades, its that nobody will let 3d die, and it gets better. sh*t will be popping out without a screen someday and it will be pretty incredible. 3d can be a little head achy at the moment, but it's not because you are viewing things in 3d, as this is how we see everything else, it's the technology that delivers the experience. Needs tweaking still.
