( I just recently sold my Xbox 360 so should i wait 'till GTA V comes out to buy a limited edition? ) Discuss! I would say that it is highly likeley there will be one as they usually do for all the AAA games, MW3 and Skyrim had one recently so I would say there is a strong chance at a GTA V one. ( MW 3 and Skyrim versions) Yeah, its basicly a way of getting people to buy a 360 through the release of a top game/popular franchise. Theres going to be a special Star Wars Kinect console this year, my guess is May the 4th for release for that one, although thats not really that relevant tbh. Since gta 4 had one and plenty of other games like call of duty and halo too. But I digress. I don't see why it wouldn't, then again I don't see why R* should bother, just get a Skin for your PS3/360. Bam GTAV'ed Console. Matty Posted January 28, 2012 Share Posted January 28, 2012 It's possible that a special-edition console will be released along with Grand Theft Auto V, but I don't think it would be practical in my opinion. The way I see it, developers arranged for special-edition consoles to be released along-side popular games early in their (the consoles) life-cycle because of the fact that not as many people would've had the new consoles (less people owned Playstation 3's and Xbox 360's in 2008, for example; then they do today) - thus it would've been a great marketing strategy to get people out to buy the new console console, as well as the new game. Today; in my opinion, it just doesn't make sense from a marketing stand-point because so many people own the newest consoles, so there would be no need to bring out special-edition consoles out, along with the game; to market it as far as I am concerned. The only one of them that im 100% getting on release is MP3 and thats only because of GTA V's announcement that im getting MP3. Syndicate, a game that didnt used to be a FPS that is now a FPS, Mass Effect 3, a good looking game but if you havnt played 1 or 2 then whats the point in getting 3 yet, Prototype 2, number 1 didnt stand out that much for me to be honest, dota 2, not even on 360 so why are you mentioning that, CSgo, a FPS that ive not even heard of, street fighter X tekken, a good looking fighting game but doesnt stand out, the darkness 2, didnt really like number 1 so doesnt stand out to me, Alan Wake, i spose your talking about the PC release of the 360 game that was relaesed in 2010 and not the new release of Alan Wake: American Nightmare that is being released on XBLA, Fifa Street, a street football game. Now none of those stand out that much to be honest, some are good games but nothing that cant wait a while, im not saying that people who can get them shouldnt get them, im saying that none of them stand out enough to just get a 360 again between now and GTA.
