Hi all!

I got a weird problem:

When I arrive at the mission from OG Loc "Life's a Beach" and I enter the red circle, I first watch the small movie. Then, when the game should load the mission, after the movie nothing happens, that means, I get a black screen and I gotta and the process in the Task Manager. What shall I do? I don't wanna re-install the game and my gta3.img is clean...

Thanks for your help

Which version did you buy (V2, V3)?

Are you playing with the DVD in the drive?

Have you modded the game?

(Just to know) Have you used (m)any cheats?

What Operating System do you have (and Service Packs)?

How much Memory (RAM)?

How much Video Memory (Shared or dedicated)?

Just to make 1 little thing very fast clear:

I finished this game several times with and without cheats, without problems...

The only thing was, everything was modded from my friend, so I put in the original gta3.img.

I use Windows 7, and don't play with the CD in the drive, never did (need to) that before...

You don't have the game disc?

You are using a modded game supplied by your friend?

We can't help you with a pirated game.

Where to (Buy) Download:

Direct2Drive.com (for PC and MAC)

SteamPowered.com

Rockstar Warehouse for boxed games:

Buy Now PS2, XBOX, PC.

Rockstar Site

Also generally available at on-line sites…

Amazon.com (I got a replacement copy for 10.00$US)

and,

E-Bay (you might find a First Edition if you’re lucky),

GameStop, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and their dot coms, etc.

also, if you’re lucky some local Pawn shops, Swap meets/Flea Markets (But, beware of Pirated games. The Game comes on a single DVD not CD’s.

A Note for potential Modders:

Modding is easy with First Edition (Version 1 games are Hard to find).

Not so easy unless you work at it with Second Edition (Version 2 games on a DVD Disc. These are Currently available.)

Version 3 games are Not able to be Modded. (Downloads).

@Weasel

I never said that I got a pirated version, I just never put the disc in while playing San Andreas.

The mods did my friend put in the game...

The game isn't programmed to run without the disc.

You did install it from (and still own, now) the Original DVD?

Cracked Games are also not fixable on this forum.

Any modification to the game may result in unexpected problems.

This part of the forums is not for helping to fix modded games.

First fix for any game that played and suddenly stops is to delete the GTA_SA.set file, as it contains config data that may no longer be applicable to the game. It is created at the end of each game play.

Replacing a file is best done by reinstalling the game (unless done with the games' own 'backed-up' file(s))

Already tried to delete the .set data, but which one is it? The one in "GTA SA User Files" or the one in the GTA SA Folder?

Also, I don't have got any mods anymore...

I installed the game with the original GTA SA CD. You just understood it wrong...

more than one, "GTA_SA.set" file?

The only one I have is in the START < USER name < Documents < GTA San Andreas User Files ...

Only to Unistall using the Games own Uninstall Feature and reinstall the clean game.

And don't crack it.

Play it with the Disc in the drive to be sure it still works.

When you're sure it is working then you can go back to mucking with it. smile.gif

Remove Mods, the mods may have mistakenly replaced a necessary map or location. Delete Gta.set file. Re-install the Disk, Maybe some of the files you have at the moment are corrupt and may need replacement. You said you completed it a few times, must have been a long time. Files surely messed up during all that gameplay.
