lil weasel
You would do better to ask Rockstar. What do the Players know about corporate decisiions? What do you mean by, "console without BC"?

Ex Hellraiser
Whats more unusual is that it is on the 360 Marketplace, but not PSN. i have san andreas on 360, so im not complaining. but i agree they should've released it on psn as well, althought they may believe that the ps3 sales were so high that they dont have much point in trying to milk out another few grand on it. lil weasel
Wouldn't the amount of space required render the game expensive (disc capacity wise) and take a couple of hours? And, what about the controller? Don't the front buttons on the PS3 send slightly different signals from those on the PS2 and PC USB generics that would require some reprograming? How are ps2 games being released on PSN? There is obviously a tool out there that makes them compatible. Sony just won't accept the fact that a lot of their old PS2 games beat a lot of their current games out of the water. <removed> If you have this special usb you can play PS2 games on a hackable PS3. Its called Ps2 classics. All i know is if it gets ported, it better be in HD and not a lazy crap PS2 classics port. If its got trophies and is HD, it will be an instant buy for me. Niall
The main reason is that Sony wants you to still buy a brand new PS2 which is still being manufacturered and even still giving the PS3 a run for it's money.
USAPatriot
The last PS2 was done being built awhile ago, but lasted well over ten years. The PS2 was outselling the Wii, Xbox 360 (for awhile) and the PS3 (short time) at one point. It outsold the Wii for quite a long time. The PS2 was truly a classic system. Most PS3's can play PS2 games. I not, sorry, you're out of luck for now.
Niall
Yikes.... The last PS2 was done being built awhile ago, Nppe, in fact the PS2 (Slims) are still being made today. Most PS3's can play PS2 games. I not, sorry, you're out of luck for now. Again, nope. Only the first couple models and a very small percentage of PS3's can play PS2 games, and they stopped doing that by '07, within the first year of production. ccrogers15
In a way it dont matter. According to ESRB leaking there ratings, PS3 ports of GTA 3 and VC are coming to PS3, and since it was rated only for PS3 its most likely exclusive to it. Afterwords, we most likely will get GTA SA ported as well. The only issue is, on Xbox 360, GTA SA works perfect backwards compatible. But on PS3 fat, when you play the PS2 disk version, radio stations dont work correctly and lag out. Plus remember, it costs ALOT of money to port games, plus they have to get permission from the voice actors AND bands who had there songs in game if the port can contain there music/voice work. Remember what happened to SH2 and SH3 HD. SH2 can keep the music and voices because of permission was granted by all the actors/bands. But SH3 HD needs new voices because one of the actors died, and the voice of heather refused to lend her voice. The last PS2 was done being built awhile ago, but lasted well over ten years. The PS2 was outselling the Wii, Xbox 360 (for awhile) and the PS3 (short time) at one point. It outsold the Wii for quite a long time. The PS2 was truly a classic system. Come again? Ps2 systems are STILL on sale on sonys site, and at stores. And this is the current model, which started production in 2010, which is better then the older slim and fat models because it fixes lots of issues with the games, and has a new firmware that older PS2 models did not have. Also, it took out region locked games, meaning this model can play games from other countries, unlike the other models. This is the model i have as well, since it dominates over previous models, and it is nicer. The new system looks like PS3 slim to me a little, looks nice too. Zee
Because R* are a gang of lazy c*nts and dont want to do the two-second ps3 optimization job to release it on PSN. Thankfully, there are rumors of III and Vice City being released on PSN soon.
Kwabs
How did you make a PS2 fly in the air? lol But I think it 'll come once, R* isn't stupid or lazy and they also noticed that SA was the best selling game on PS2. So maybe they 'll bring it as an exclusive for PS3 for a while. With extra content and stuff. But why should I care, I don't own a PS3 Edited February 3, 2012 by ThaBoY
Kooly_Kid
They didn't put San Andreas on PSN or XBOX LIVE because they knew that they were going to make gta 5 in Los Santos.
