Srgtwissing93
I had this idea which I thought was cool, what if they put movie references that takes place in LA, in the game? Here is some examples (this is my first topic, so no BS please ) Lethal Weapon - Roger Murtaugh house. (maybe with a toilet outside?) Lethal Weapon - Pedestrian that talks like Leo Getz "Okay okay okay....i was walking on the the road, and then the car came and f*cked me in the ass! This town f*ck's you in the ass! Okay okay!?" Lethal Weapon - When you get shot by a police officer, he will say stuff like "Im too old for this sh*t" or "5 days til retirement" Terminator 2 - LA river with a dirtbike down there Beverly Hills Cop - A police officer with a football jersey Independence Day - A bum Pedestrian that will say stuff like "they are coming, and once they are here......checkmate....I SAW IT IN A MOVIE!" Speed - Maybe a police radio in a car would say stuff like "Code 84, all cars in the area, we got a puplic bus, with a possible 1-87 on it!" (i dont know the codes for bomb etc ) American History X - Maybe if you push a pedestrian he will could say stuff like "Nigga you just f*cked with the wrong bull!" The Karate Kid - Mr Miyagi house (perhaps with a Pedestrian "wax on, wax off" Boyz N The Hood - Pedestrian that looks like Tre (Cuba Gooding Jr) And many more..... I know there's probably not even 1% chance that they will do it, especially Because of copyright laws!
Mokrie Dela
i think it's safe to say there wil be some references. R* always parodies the culture. I have a feeling this has been done before but if it has it's been a while and i dont wanna burst your bubble so i'm gonna play along. It would be cool to see some references. If done right. I know III and VC had their influences from films, Any film set in or involving LA though. What about TV shows? Scrubs was set in LA i THINK - or rather filmed in an old hospital there. I could be wrong - in fact i suspect i am - but i know the "sacred heart hospital" is a REAL hospital, decomissioned. It also appeared in the Jet Li Film, The One. So That hospital would be awesome imo - not called sacred heart, but the size shape layout etc being the same. I like the lethal weapon independance day and terminator ideas. I can see this topic growing. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Click here to view my Poetry
Finn 7 five 11
Terminator 2 - LA river with a dirtbike down there I think in San Andreas they had this, next to one of the rivers there is a Sanchez, i can't quite remember though, somewhere in the countryside it was. as for Wax on, Wax off I doubt they would use the exact lines, but something similar. LA river isn't in the countryside, so i don't think it's a terminator reference. The LA river in SA is the empty channel that passes grove street - seen in the mission "just business" with Smoke. gmcb007
Wax on, Wax off could be used for a beauty parlour or car wash's slogan. I wouldn't mind finding an overturned bank van under an overpass or the Jack Rabbit Slims bar. Edited January 19, 2012 by gmcb007
reform
I hope that there is a tent on top of the mountain with two pairs of cowboy boots outside.
simulachrist
There is a film I saw recently that could easily be an influence on V, called To Live and Die in LA. It's an 80s flick about two secret service agents hunting down a counterfeiter. There's brutal action, a nerve-wracking car chase through LA, and an absolutely devilish villain played by Willem Dafoe. The film also does a great job of capturing a lot of LA's scenery. Check it out if the concept of crime and cars in an LA setting is enough to get you interested.

If done properly, it could be an interesting mission. Maybe even a part of the final one, like chasing the antagonist for quite a while, going through all kinds of roads etc... before the final showdown. Mokrie Dela
the Jack Rabbit Slims bar. This ^ times a thousand. Times a million if it's enterable and "date" able... also, the wax idea for a beauty salon? That's pure R*. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Rockstar20124
Since this is not a movie parody topic I would like to see some serious Los Angeles drama references as well. So, I expect the Oscar winning movie Crash will be referred to somewhere in a serious mission in GTA V
