coryc90
Even though this is a small detail, I would love to see the traffic lights have a correct pattern this time around. I do love pretending to be a normal citizen and drive around peacefully. Many times have I had people rear end me and constantly honk or run a clear red light. Also, I would love to see some police actions be taken when a NPC violates traffic, not you. That'd add some realism into the game without being overly annoying! It's a good thing I'm not the only one that thinks that. XD

Magic_Al
I'm happy they're fixing this in GTA V. The way GTA had done it may be correct in some parts of the world but I've never seen it in the U.S., at least not with overhead lights. Apparently early traffic lights on posts were put in the same place stop signs had been but you'd be able to see those. Overhead, how would you know when it was green? Except for the glow on the pavement in GTA. The biggest traffic light mistake in GTA IV is the intersections in Bohan that have BOTH a stop sign and a traffic light. That's completely dysfunctional. I'd like to see stop signs in GTA but they would only be at intersections without lights. The AI would have to be reprogrammed to handle those kinds of intersections, that's why minor intersections on GTA maps have lights even though they wouldn't be justified on cost in real life. Hugef1
I think you'll find you're wrong. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/8299/p6290045iy2.jpg Well there's a sight that I've never seen before. Do you know where that was taken? No, I don't. I just know I've seen a few of that sort, so I did a google image search to find a pic for you There's not that many (it's not extremely rare though), but they exist on the bigger roads (dual carriageways for example). I live next to a main A road, and it has that sort at several junctions. Tbh I hadn't really noticed the "issue" in GTA.
LethalCrizzle
I totally agree, and i hope you right. I do like to drive realistic
MotjoBoss
wrong side of the road? What do you mean? You mean like the australian way, across the intersection? I keep forgetting about how many people here are from the UK. Let me elaborate if I wasn't clear: Rockstar puts the traffic light on your side of the intersection. The traffic light is literally right above your roof if you stop at the cross line. In the US, the light is facing you above the cross line opposite side of the intersection. I'm not sure how it is anywhere else but now it is correct to the US' laws. I have lived in Los Angeles for almost 20 years and I have a firm grip on most of the locations and laws, just in case we need to bridge the culture gap. Yea ive been to LA a 4 months ago. I can remember now.

I can imagine them being on major roads where a motorway becomes a dual carriageway or something like that but I've never noticed them in person. I've never noticed that it was wrong in GTA IV but I have noticed how annoying it is when I'm at the start of the line & have to tilt the camera upwards to watch the light change (or rely on the green reflection appearing on my car). How were the sequences wrong?
senor_huevos_benedicto
I love driving realistically during some parts of missions - it really adds to the atmosphere.

SGT. Johnson
I just hope traffic light patterns make more sense. Also, I hope they don't make all the AI drivers go insane every time I stop at a red light. I hate when I stop, then the person behind me starts ramming into my beautiful car How about the constant honking when you stop at a red light? Then again, Liberty City is based off New York City, and everybody is pissed off there. yea why do people honk their horn all the time in traffic in NY? how is that going to make traffic move faster? or is it something to do with changing lanes or something? Never been to New York I see. A typical New Yorker is someone who is all to himself with no disregard for the people aaround him. As long as he/she gets what he/she wants, whatever occurred to get to that state is justified. People in New York honk their horns because most people can't drive. Doing it at red lights though still ponders me. You also have to remember that GTA IV was a "bastardized version of New York". This means they made everyone look horrible and selfish in actions and feelings.
