Stripes1981
Well, everyone has pretty much said all the obvious ones so here's a few GOOD XBL Arcade/Indie games that I usually download when I want a new fun game experience: Trine 2 - Absolutely beautiful puzzle game! Limbo - Strange but incredibly addictive puzzle game, a little short tough.. Trials - Awsome bike game with map editor! Marble Blast Ultra - The best puzzle game I've ever played! Geometric Wars 1 & 2 - Awsome 2D Arcade shooters Total Miner - Actually a great Minecraft ripoff N+ - One of the first arcade games on XBL, and imo one of the best. You play as a ninja! Other great games are: All the Far Cry games (mainly because of the map editor) All the Bioshock games All the Crysis games All the GTA games All the CoD games (yes, it's a great timekiller) All the Battlefield games All the Dead Rising games All the Halo games All the Assassin's Creed games All the Spilnter Cell games All the Rainbow Six games All the Mafia games All the Hitman games All the Half-Life games All the L4D games Garry's Mod Saints Row 1 & 3 (absolutely not 2, horrible game imo) RAGE SSX Tricky RDR Skyrim And those are the ones at the top of my head right now... If you want something else to do, watch a movie: http://www.randommovietitle.com/ Wow! After thinking about it I am probably going to buy Skyrim sometime very soon and I told myself that I would play RDR all over again if GTA V was not released sometime this summer and by the looks of it, it won't. Thanks for your input!

~INDIO~
If you want a serious open-world game, try Mafia II. One of my favorite games ever made. You could pick the Director's Cut up for $20. you're right there man. I left it a year after playing the demo til i bought it... big mistake! It's a lot better than i was expecting. Cole Phelps Gta
Mafia II really enjoyed this game but i'm a fan of the story. If you don't play games for the story i wouldn't recommend it another thing if you like roman in gta iv you'll love jim the protags best friend
Pro wrestler
I second the Dead Rising games. They are really fun sandbox games. If you are unsure; try the original Dead Rising demo or buy DR2: Case West to get a taste.

Ive spent most of the time on the map editor though, you get a map about the size of 2 middle park's next to eachother and you have free controll over the landscape of it and you can put in a large variety of buildings and objects. One of my most favourite maps I have made so far is a sort of excavation site where ther is a big hole with mud ramps going down to where a lost settlement has been discovered, but there is a pretty much endless ammount of possibilities with the map editor if you have a good imadgintion. Algonquin Assassin
Assassins Creed Series My favourite franchise outside of GTA. As much as I like Brotherhood and Revelations nothing beats ACII IMO. Funnily enough I never got much into AC. It was a good game, but I fell in love with the series with AC II. I did, but I got a negative impression from it. I agree with you, the first part is sub-par at best and no where near GTA standards. But I will say that the story does get quite interesting once the zombies invade! Come on MiamiViceCity, you know the stupidy that is plagued in this section by idiotic children. You shouldn't even bother. As fir the OP, I would say Uncharted 3, May Payne 3 when it comes out, Batman Arkham City, and Legend of Zelda Skywayrd Sword. I'm only basing this off of the game that I currently have, minus Max Payne 3 of course.

Racecarlock
Max Payne 3 Any open world games? i\'ve tried playing Skyrim with my boyfriend but it\'s very fantasy based and unrealistic. Maybe I\'m just being unfair with it so perhaps I will give it another try. In what way is it unrealistic? It simply takes place in a different world than our own. Magic classes, random dragons and various wildlife scattered about the forests and people talking in the villages and cities. These were all well done and immersive. And if it's unrealistic simply because of the fantasy elements, well then of course it's unrealistic. It's a FANTASY game. Though if you do want some realism, well, you have already played through mafia II, so maybe the sims or something. Red Dead Redemption?
