Neostriker
So I just now bought GTA IV for $20 on steam. I missed the $5 opportunities before, so heck why not just buy it now. But, did I make the right choice? My computer can probably handle it (i5-2500K, 6870, 1440x900) resolution. I know there are a lot of mods; i just wanted to know if I spent too much on GTA IV. CrowBarZ
Spend too much on GTA4? You must have a negative opinion about one of the best GTA games IMO. You should have payed at LEAST $10 more. The game is still being played by what I would call a LOT of people because it's fun. So I think you got a good deal.
StonersDarkness
umm... everyone does realize you can just go to a gamestop and get it for $20? and if your a Pro member you get it for a little cheaper but that is for the Original GTA IV, NOT the Complete Edition, that is about $35... You can get the game cheaper than that, @ Wal-Mart(store #1362 has been verified for this), the game is only $14.82 for PC and $19.82 for PS3 and 360. Also, another good thing with Wal-Mart, is if you find a lower price on walmart.com, you can use the site-to-store option to have it shipped to your local store and avoid the Shipping and Handling fees, as it is Free shipping with Site-to-Store.... OR the last I knew, it was only $12.47 for the complete package on Steam-that is what I paid, and that was for III, VC, SA, IV, TLAD, and TBOGT, and 1 and II(basically ALL GTA games)....I recently even got LA Noire for only like $4.99 on Steam too...Best of all, there was no sales tax on the Steam version either... So, it basically boils down to you just have to know where to look...lol One thing that is hard to believe, is people were glad to pay $40-$50 for the game back when it came out, but yet when it has come down in price people are now complaining about $20? That does not make sense....Just curious on that one.
ccrogers15
Id never pay $20 for it, when at gamestop used its 9.99 and works great.
Neostriker
So it wasn't worth the $20? More like $5 to $10?
radioman
So it wasn't worth the $20? More like $5 to $10? Personally, anyone who does not think a $40-$50 game that is now $20 is not worth it, is either (1) Not interested in the game or series, (2) Have NOT played any of the previous games in the series-ie.- III, Vice City, San Andreas, LCS, and VCS, (3) Is an el-cheapo-or all of the above, as ALL games in the series were like $40 at release-even GTA III, and it is still extremely popular now as it was the day it was released. Even though ALL the previous titles are less than $10 now, except for LCS and VCS-those are still $19.82 New a piece and $19.96 new as a Double pack....Those games are definitely worth it...Just a heads up/my 2 cents.. But, buying games used now a days is a bad idea, as these games come with limited activations, and if you buy the game used, you never know how many more activations are left nor do you know if the previous owner has revoked the license before un-installing the game on his/her machine and selling it-meaning the game will more than likely not allow another activation if it was not revoked on the previous machine it was on...Also, according to part b of the license conditions on Page 32 of the manual, it is illegal to distribute, sell, or give the game away...It was fine to buy the previous GTA games used, as those did not involve secrucrom and licensing restrictions like IV and EFLC games do...Just a heads up/my 2 cents... Neostriker
Well I bought it through steam, which is 100% guaranteed working. No problems with activation and stuff. But people have kept on saying "San Andreas is better", but I really didn't enjoy San andreas because it was too arcady in my thoughts. And being the person who juiced out Just Cause 2 and Saints Row 3, I wanted something more realistic. But is GTA IV, too realistic?
D T
No, it's not too realistic. Sure it may be less wacky than games like Saints Row 3, but it is NOT realistic in anyway. Edited January 19, 2012 by Deadly Target

PhantomFoxy
I bought the GTA 4 expansion pack (comes with TBOGT and TLAD) at Wal-Mart for only $30. One of the best decisions I ever made.
2191987
Nah, $20 isn't bad at all. GTA IV is the only game where I actually enjoy redoing the storyline multiple times (got the game on release day and still sometimes play through bits and pieces of the story). Any game that has been fun for four years is worth $20.
Lee Everett
Do you know how old GTA IV is? And till this day it's still considered my favorite game, that itself says something.
