DemoniCreature
A portuguese website came with some news about an analyst who believes GTA V will be a 2013 (fiscal year) game. It's not "new" news but it's something... I need to study o I used Google to translate the news really quickly. The analysts expect Grand Theft Auto V to be released next fiscal year, ending March 13, 2013. Despite being well stocked one year for Take-Two. With the postponement of Max Payne 3 for May 2012, revenues from the sale of the game are to be recorded only in the fiscal year starting in April 2012. Thus, the 12 month period in fiscal year (April to March next), Take-Two will release the aforementioned Max Payne 3 and still BioShock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Spec Ops: The Line, and XCOM XCOM: Enemy Unknown . According to the statements of Mike Hickey, National Alliance Capital Markets provided to Game Informer, it is unlikely that Max Payne 3 and GTA V be released that month, thus excluding the company's previous forecast: in May 2012. However, Mike Hickey remains confident about the launch of GTA V in the next fiscal year, something that is not at all certain. According to him, the ideal time will be next summer. Basically, these forecasts are carried out through complex calculations of expected revenues and objectives to be met by the companies. Do not reveal it for granted, just as an ideal indicator. 2191987
I don't think they'll wait that long to release it; hell, it's been four years since GTA IV came out. At least, I hope it doesn't take that long.
Fraizer
Well Xcom enemy unknown has been set for release in Q4 Fiscal year 2013 (Q1 calendar 2013.) And Bioshock, borderlands 2 has no real release date yet, while spec ops the line is set for summer (I think.)
Magic_Al
With Max Payne 3 now part of the fiscal 2013 picture, something to listen for in the next earnings conference call is how they adjust the forecast. Before, they were saying $2/share for fiscal 2013, presumably on the strength of the then-unannounced GTA V, but now the Max Payne 3's launch gets added to that. There will also be consequences for fiscal 2012 because now L.A. Noire stands as the only Rockstar release of the year.
bluesboyjr
Thank god for industry analysts. The surprise announcement of GTA V at E3 2010 would have given me a heart attack if they didn't tell us about it first.
Snake Without a Tongue
I hate to say it, but I'm leaning toward early 2013, too. There's just too little marketing for a release this year.

Lol, I was actually stupid enough to think that GTA:V was going to be announced at E3 2010. That seems like such a long time ago, I can't believe the game was only announced a couple of months ago. Vice Beach
It's only January.. I'm still pulling for October. We'll see more official information about V in the coming months.. Maybe weeks.. Then after MP3 they'll put the full swing into GTA V's marketing.

Well done mate, you came to the same conclusion as i did and a lot of other people here, except we didn't need to do these so called "complex calculations". What a waste of time. Slamman
I said it for amusement, because like Jack Thompson, we love to pick on Pachter, but he's a fan as well, or so he's claimed!
boxmonster
These "analysts" should make up some information to convince Rockster that is is more economically viable to release the game, let's say, tomorrow.
Knife
I still think there's a good chance that it'll come out this year. I was pretty sure after the announcement it would be, though the lack of info has placed some doubt in my mind. An October release still puts us 9 months away. If it comes out at the end of this year we will have had the trailer a whole 11 months. A march release would be 15 months. That just seems like too far away for R* to be planning to release the game (but I wont rule out a delay until then). But then I got back to the lack of details on even the platforms and I start to doubt it. It's such a strange way to start the marketing by doing a trailer and not actually revealing any details about the game for months afterwards.
