IllnessGTA
In my Gang Wanted Level thread, I explained what would happen if you piss off gangsters a little too much. What would happen, though, if you help them out? There's a trust system you can view in your stats. Basically, every time you help a gang member out, you get trust from that certain gang (each gang has their own trust meter). You mess with the gang, and it will go down (below 50% is bad). So here's the way to earn trust from these gun wielding fellas. 1. Whenever there's a gang war between 2 gangs, the area in which the war is happening will be blinking red. This is usually a warning that if you enter the area, you may get shot at. But you can go there and help a gang out. If you kill gang members from the, let's say, Mexican gang during this war, the Chinese gang killing that gang will have respect for you, and your trust meter will go up. The bad thing about this is that the Mexican gang trust meter will go down. 2. Help a gang member escape from the police. It's simple - Either kill the police officers chasing the suspect, or trip them over. Your trust bar will go up. 3. Complete side missions (hard side missions) from gang members to boost your gang trust up. 4. Help a gang member fighting against someone, or a rival gang member on the streets. Try not to punch the person you are helping. SO. Here's what happens at what % of the trust meter. 0% - Huge lack of trust. They don't like you, so be careful when you step into their hood. 25% - Enter their turf, you won't get attacked, but you will be watched and stared on by the gangsters. 50% - Just normal. 75% - Gang members won't attack you if you shoot in their hood, and they may help you in a fight. 100% - They trust you. You can call gang members as back up to help, and when you enter their turf, you will be cheered on, and they will help in a shootout. You can call gang members to also patrol an area, just in case if you get attacked their by the police or such. They will also help you out with money. Getting 75% is hard enough, but 100% is very hard to complete. The trust meter goes down quicker than it goes up.

Again, basing on the fact that gangs will play a prominent role in V; we don't know that for sure but most likely it will. I actually do like this idea as I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one who was irate over the fact that you were wanted by pretty much every gang in III with NO WAY TO GET THEM TO LIKE YOU! In retrospect, however, when you look back on what you did to them, it makes sense why they'd want you dead. Vice City though, I found it strange after the phone call with Auntie Pulet, before blowing up the Crack Factory, the Haitians "HATE YOU". BUT, what REALLY pissed me oof is the goddamn hypocrisy that is San Andreas. Going off of the events that occurred in San andreas, Kendl and Ceasar, are more than friends, Ceasar, if you recall, is the leader of the Varrios Los Aztecas. How is it then, that those goddamn bastards are shooting and trying to kill me? Is the gang NOT allied with Grove Street? I'm pretty sure they are! So, in conclusion, a TRUST system is a definite for me! SUPPORT!

noun
seems like a good idea, but it would be cool to have other perks as well like getting cheaper suplies from stores depending on trust 50% being standard but 75%=15% cheaper 100=30% cheaper and then it would work the other way around as well so things would become more expensive if they dont like you, i also think with all gangs should have a rival so that as you gain trust with gang a your trust for gang b drops, it would be possable to have both gang a and b at 0% but not possable to have them both at 100% maybe have choices during missions/side-missions that would permanantly effect the rate at which trust rises or decreases such as delivering a drug shipment to gang c will permanantly make gang c trust you faster but gand d will gain trust more slowly however destroying the shipment will change this outcome. Ah, good idea! Maybe once you get one gang at 100%, the other gangs trust will fall down to 75%, and it can't go up.
