What do you think the chances are of GTAV being released in late March? Or this could possibly push to April - the same month GTAIV was released... Clinging onto a bit of hope and desperation here. It happened yesterday sometime when R* decided to procrastinate all over again. They never release a game without delay. So if the estimate release date they give us is October for V like you guys are coming up with another lunatic theory of - expect them to have their heads in the clouds yet again - we'll be playing GTAV in April/May 2013. Look at the past release dates for ALL past Rockstar-produced games - Rockstar Games typically wait least seven months between each release and sometime as many as 10 months between releases and this will be no different with Grand Theft Auto V in my opinion. Also, don't forget that Rockstar do a promotional pre-release period where they flood fans with information regarding a specific game for several weeks/months before it is released; this was the case with Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire and currently with Max Payne 3 and again, it will be no different for Grand Theft Auto V as far as I am concerned. Since Rockstar haven't given any new information regarding Grand Theft Auto V since November, you can pretty much conclude that Grand Theft Auto V will be released after Max Payne 3. There has never been proof that GTA V was going to come out in May. Only some outlandish theories people were basing on some "clues" in the trailer. It seems ludicrous of them to announce a game an entire year before it's release (GTAIV was only so long because of delays, original date was 6-7 months right?). If they knew GTAV wasn't coming out for exactly 1 year, and they have their precious Max Payne coming in May to do some more advertising campaigns in the meantime, why did they bother giving us a trailer? Wouldn't that steer people away from Max Payne 3 if they're trying to promote it? It just goes to show they released V's trailer ahead of time to, and with intention to, generate Max Payne sales. It won't come out until 2013, they'll probably want to keep the Max Payne 3 online multiplayer alive and kicking for the rest of the year... Now we can be guaranteed that it will not come out until significantly after that. You know how Rockstar supports games long after release. Max Payne will be no different, especially since it has multiplayer. Rockstar is patient. I hate to say it, but we're in for at least another year without a new GTA. I know it was for financial reasons, but it was kind of a dick move for Rockstar to release that GTA trailer when it probably won't come out for 1.5 years after. I saw Max Payne 3 was being promoted, and I accepted the fact that I wouldn't be playing a new GTA for some time. Now they release this trailer, get me pumped, and I'm slowly realizing that my former guess for the latest release date (Summer 2013) is now looking like a distinct possibility. I didn't have to do this for III because I didn't even own a gaming system back then. I didn't have to do this for Vice City because I hadn't even beaten III when it came out. I looked forward to San Andreas quite a bit, but I'm pretty sure it was announced less than a year before it came out, maybe even 6 months or so. After that, I sort of stopped playing video games. In hindsight, I'm glad because I would have been eagerly anticipating IV for a good 1.5 years only to get a product that left me wanting quite a bit, regardless of how good it was. V better blow my mind, or I may just have to delete my account because this anticipation is horrible. Man I'm glad I got that off my chest. While May 2012 was wishful thinking (I was guilty of such hope), to dismiss the rest of 2012 is a bit premature. It comes down to the fact that Rockstar are expecting a massive fiscal 2013. Max Payne 3, while it does have its audience, it is not GTA in terms of mass cultural appeal. The fact is Rockstar has moved MP3 into fiscal 2013, that added with GTA V would be a huge year for Rockstar financially. The idea of GTA V being released next May is therefore impossible from a business stand point (i.e it is therefore fiscal year 2014). May - September is not usually the most busy of months, so either we will see R* try and capitalise on the drought of that time of the year and release GTA V between July and September or we will likely see an October-Nov release date. E-mails, petitions, there are plenty of ways we can plead to Rockstar about this problem, but yet people refuse to do anything about it, theres more wine here than in Dan Housers cabinet. And before you go bitching about "Oh, im cool because im that guy who plans to wait, because complaining about somebody screwing their biggest fanbase over is so mainstream" or "My idea is better because I like to sit on the forums all day and play hero so i can defeat all those bad guys asking for their favorite game" please expect someone to at least try to do something productive every once in a while, because some people don't like this kind of conduct towards the community but again, if you really want to do something productive like i do, then please e-mail rockstar, believe it or not, they do take ideas into consideration, but yet i still doubt any of you would take this into consideration. Because of other titles Rockstar game is wasting time on, GTA V will not be released until late in 2012 at best and even that is pushing it. So say hello to a 2013 release date.
