qqprzem
Hi, I looked around on this and other forum and I still cannot find an answer to my problem. I installed modded cars on SA using the GGMM tool. I did this correctly (hopefully) following all the rules (it's quite easy anyway). The car model is installed correctly and the preview is show on the GGMM window, it is the car I want and all that so I happy with it. I run GTA:SA, find the blista that is meant to be the new modded car but it is still the original model of blista compact rather than the new, modded VW Golf Mk 1. I don't know what is wrong with it. I know that my GTA version is 1.0, the disc was borrowed from a friend and I use a digital drive to trick my computer to think it has the cd in. The game is running on compatibility settings of XP pro SP 1, don't know if that matters but it's the only way the game does not kick me out on loading screen. My question is, Why are the modded cars not showing in the Modded Models but the oroginal texture shape etc. of GTA SA. Any help is appreciated, any questions just ask, i hope I explained everything clearly enough... Thanks PG
aStiffSausage
What tool are you using to replace the files in gta3.img? Have you done "Rebuild archive" after modifying the file? If not, then I would recommend getting IMG Manager v1.5 and use the "Rebuild archive"-feature. It's required for properly installing mods.
qqprzem
Thanks for the fast reply! I tried using GGMM (GTA Garage Mod Manager) to install it 'manually' using the inbuilt installer on the program. The car shows on it correctly, in the GGMM window that is. I also tried using the IMG Tool 2.0, and using Command>Replace to change the '.dff' and '.txd' files. I used the 'Rebuild Archive' on that. That did not do the trick either. Finally i tried using SAMI (so far the best UI) that did not work to change the models in game either. I have a backup of the files that SAMI and GGMM created too, so it's all cool
CK-1999
it's easy.....search inside the GTA3.img with IMGtool and delete the double .dff .txd of the blista or both and then get your mod in but most important REBUILD your GTA3.img. ggmm sees your mod but the game knows only the last build GTA3.img btw. don't delete multiple files from your GTA3.IMG I found out a few times that imgtool deletes files you never selected and then you'll get freezes or crashes. qqprzem
Hi! Thanks for your reply. I am in the process of doing what you say above. However, i also find that every time I open the window it says: ' Failed to set data for " ' I am unsure what it means. I tried doing it with the blistac.txd and blistac.dff. I will try doing it with some other files. Maybe its just that my mod is not supported by my version or some stuff like that? I'll try out the other files and let you know how that went. Again ,thanks for the replies!
qqprzem
Hi! I just found what the problem was all along. The 'could not set data for "' locked the gta3.img file, meaning that it was read only. I then run IMG tool as administrator and the mods are now working. THanks for all the help people!
