Vicer Exciser
I am thinking about a new car dealership system for GTA V, just like the one from GTA IV, but with interactive options. There could be one car dealer with luxurious sports cars and large executive cars, and a used car dealer where you can buy old cars for low prices. It would offer you an alternative legal way to get a car instead of getting into trouble with the police everytime you want a new car. It might be also a place for all rare and unique cars of the entire game. (I hated to search for those cars around the whole map.) But there is one problem with this idea. In my opinion it depends on the police wan-ted system. Let me explain it to you. Once you steal a car in the streets of GTA IV, the police might not realize it or they do and you will get one star…after getting out of their sight, you have no wanted level and the car is „yours“. For my idea, the only possibility to reduce your wanted level is to paint the car in another colour AND to change the license plates (like in mafia 2). In addition, you should pay some money for it so that even if you steal a car, you will loose money or you will stay into trouble with the cops. Otherwise buying an expensive car at a car dealer would make no sense. You could also enter the car dealer to get detailed informations about the cars, just like at the homepage of the car dealer from gta iv. The prices for used cars should reach from 200 to 5.000 $, whereas exclusive cars should cost about 25.000-75.000 $ ( so the huge amount of money you earn beco-mes finally more important) What do you guys think about it? Would it add more experience and fun to the game or does it seem pretty useless to you? This is just my personal idea and by the way, my first topic ever. And excuse me for my bad English, my last English lesson was almost three years ago.

Vicer Exciser
So we should remove the Grand Theft Auto part of a Grand Theft Auto game? no, we should definately not, but should get an alternative to it.
OzzySM12
So we should remove the Grand Theft Auto part of a Grand Theft Auto game? It would offer you an alternative legal way to get a car instead of getting into trouble with the police everytime you want a new car. He is suggesting an additional feature where you are able to by a car. Not suggesting they remove the auto theft aspect of the game. No a bad idea. Although you will get the folk moaning about it being "grand THEFT auto", it is these little features and extras which make the game truly free. If you complete the game, going back and doing it without steeling a car would be an interesting challenge. Or having a quick play of the game where you are pretending to be someone else other than the GTA mass murderer, this feature will help out with that. It if GTA's ability to let you be and act as you like which makes it a great game. And if you fancy acting like a law abiding citizen then why should you not be able to, or why should you get flamed for posting it on the forums? P.S. Slick01, considering you have not fully learned English (and probably don't use it much), your English is good enough to read. Don't be put off by the language/grammar police who start a sentence with "Bro" and don't put a full stop at the end .
MyDog
Then those rare, expensive and luxurious cars should only be in showrooms.
Rockstar20124
I think we should be able to buy the car dealership for business income and use it as garage to store your cars and for car customization Pretty nice idea of course. The Mafia 2 color and license plate changing could work I guess. I do think we should be able to buy and steal special cars. I also thought it was a missed opportunity not being able to buy cars or the dealership property for business income in GTA IV. But I didn't really miss it that much. Would be nice to have that option back in GTA V just like in VC and SA. And as I said use it as a place to store lots of cars and customize them as well
Viperman
Shoot out dealership window, murder any workers, steal car and proceed to drive away thro another window. - [- No Fear. No Limits. No Equal. -] - - [- Ride For Life -] - Digging deep. It's not just an expression that's thrown around the locker room at halftime. It's a way of life. A daily code that drives a champions existence. It's not always glamorous. It's not always blue skies and sunny days, and its certainly not always welcome. But love it or hate it, to become a true champion take pure, unrestricted commitment. 73duster
How about selling cars to the dealer? You could make easy money doing that.
Grand_Theft_Peanut
So we should remove the Grand Theft Auto part of a Grand Theft Auto game? he didnt say to stop stealing cars... he just said to give us another use for our money which i like. The idea of being able to buy a car and call it your own is good. There will still be missions that require u to steal cars and stuff
Chukkles
I don't like the idea of all hidden vehicles only being availiable at a dealership. But once you've found and drove them maybe they can then appear at the dealership when you want, (only if you own the dealership). I would love more hidden vehicles, the Sultan RS as fun as it is shouldn't have been the only hidden car in IV. I would love to see monster truck again, especially with the Rage engine as it is now. Jimbatron
I like the idea of being able to sell and buy cars. You could use it in the legit way, or to amplify your criminal activities. Nick an old car and trade it in for something faster plus a few dollars. Or book a test drive, and steal the car half way through, pushing the dealer out of the door. 100mL
Shoot out dealership window, murder any workers, steal car and proceed to drive away thro another window. Of course this is how most would obtain their car from the dealership. I like the idea in the OP, and would really like to see it return revamped in V. In San Andreas we could order certain cars on certain days. To keep people from just stealing from the dealership they would have to implement either ordering from the in-game internet and have it shipped to a predetermined location. Or have something similar to SA, in which we buy from the docks and it's delivered immediately. However if we're shooting for realism I think we should have to wait for the car to be imported. Say 2 days... Either way I have the feeling we'll see something like this in V. After all it is a "bold new direction". Racecarlock
Why can't we just implement this system without making the cops more of a pain in the ass than they already are? Jesus, why not have all the cops trained in parkour and give them cars with magical nitrous so they always catch you? And why not have the radius for one star encompass the whole city? Seriously, if you're already going to make it so I have to change license plates and colors than why not just make getting away with crime completely impossible so that we're forced to be a regular guy with a regular job or something? I want to buy cars, but not if it means having to give up stealing them because it got too frustrating and annoying.

Entfred
I like the idea but would hate to buy a really expensive car and then roll over after thirty second of driving. It would be great if the car(s) you've bought would always show up at your safehouse even though you crash it. That would give you a reason to buy car. I want to buy cars, but not if it means having to give up stealing them because it got too frustrating and annoying. Overall I think the OP's idea is a good one in principle. I proposed something a little more radical about car ownership a while back in a previous life. (Link: Here) While I take your point, Racecarlock, I don't completely agree with it. Grand Theft Auto is a crime. There should be consequences. In a game where there are no consequences, it's not a crime any more. Your point about ensuring that it doesn't make the gameplay too frustrating and annoying is perfectly valid. The trick is to find the right balance. Speaking more generally though, there has to be some kind of advantage to buying from a showroom. For instance, you could get to specify colours and options. Not full customisation (leave that to the mod shops), but perhaps get to choose from the "manufacturer's" colours and options which would be relatively conservative (a bit like real life). But I have a further idea. Perhaps, for those connected to the internet, you can buy additional cars from Rockstar. And when I say "buy", I mean buy with game money, not real money (so it's free IRL). Extending the idea even further, it could even be used as a vehicle for sharing car mods. So you hook up to a modding server, or Rockstar's host their own approved mod server and they manifest themselves in the game in the car dealerships as special orders. Anyway. Just throwing ideas out there.
Vormek
Here's what I had in mind. People complain about not having anything to spend money on, which is true. Sure you can buy weapons and stuff like that but besides that there's not much else to do with it. I'm thinking about having a car dealership like OP suggested and that you can buy some exclusive cars which you cannot find anywhere else in the game. Cars such as Lamborghinis, Bugatti, Ferraris should be one of many cars you can choose to buy with many different variations. (Names will be different of course) These cars should cost between $100.000 - $1M. Once you buy the car it will be yours to keep forever and you can customize it with hundreds of different options. If you destroy the car it will spawn in your garage. You can buy as many cars as you want but bear in mind that it costs a lot of money and earning 1 million without cheats takes a long time so it will really give you the feeling that you spent your hard earned money on something precious and valuable. You can buy as many cars as you want and keep them forever if you have space left in your garage. If you don't you can sell your car for 25% less money than you purchased it for and replace it with a new car of your choice. And I guess some cheaper dealership should also be in the game. Like $3000 - $37.000 cars.
