gta_fan28
In GTAIV the only way to get in the locked car is to smash the door. And it's attract attention to the Peds and u automatically get a wanted level when a cop saw u. How about lockpicking it just like in Mafia 2? Not to attract attention to the peds and cops. Note this is just optional cause in Mafia 2 you can also smash the door just like in GTAIV if you're in hurry. I'm just suggesting this so the player not to attract attention on Peds and Cops. Share your thoughts and opinion Here's a video of lockpicking in Mafia 2. Edited January 17, 2012 by gta_fan28
ShotGunRain
Great idea, but if a cop sees you lock picking you should get a wanted level.
Cole Phelps Gta
Mafia 2 is an amazing game. Btw i love jim that dude is on romans level as far as best friends go. On topic yes i think it should be just like mafia 2 you can choose to lockpick or just smash the window. Both have positives and negitives aswell. Smashing the window draws alot more attention and can get you a wanted level. However it's alot faster Lockpicking is a more sneaky way to steal a car and if you're good no one will notice but take too long and people call the cops ect. That's the downside of lockpicking it takes alot longer Edited January 17, 2012 by Cole Phelps Gta
Nick Foster
I hope we have a choice for this. I don't want to be sprinting away from cops shooting at me while I have low health, find a car, only to spend 10 extra seconds trying to pick the lock. If this would be implemented, hopefully we just have the choice to pick a lock with no alarm and damage, or just smash the sh*t out of the window. GTAFan20
I don't think thats a good idea, smashing the windows its more GTA style. The lock picking in Mafia II wasn't bad but its just not GTA. I rather smash the windows, start the car and vrooom there it goes.

I think it will be fit in GTAV that's why this game name GRAND THEFT AUTO right?
Gtaghost22
Good idea!, we can have lockpicking as a choice, and keep smashing the windows there too, smashing the windows makes a noise and draws attention to you, and Lockpicking takes much time but nobody notice it (if you are that good).. I hope they include it..
sonnyBlack
I like being discrete, which is why I like any form of stealth gameplay. This is a cool idea since it's just another way of allowing me to be sneaky. Obviously if the cops are on my ass I'll just smash the window and hot wire that bitch. But when I'm just being casual, lock picking car doors would be the ideal thing for me to do.

I think R* will borrow some features that Mafia 2 have and other open world game outder which is not bad at all and I know when they borrow something they improve it very well. JoeM
As long as the option to smash the window remains then why not. Id also like to see them have a jimmy bar for pulling the pin up. (flat bit of steel with a hook you slide between the window and door frame and hook the lock mech inside the door). Seeing as GTA is about stealing car's more options would be good, bit like gone in 60 seconds meets GTA. Rockstar had lock picking in Warriors as well as stealing stereo's for cash so cant see why it would be an issue. But I would probably stick to smashing the window. boxmonster
Next we're gonna want Skyrim style lock picking and CTW's hot wiring to make a return. Then killing people and taking their car keys blah, blah, blee, bleh, bo, blah.
milkmansun
Mafia 2 was a great game indeed.. it had a clear view, in graphics, in story telling, the gameplay.. even though it was small game and not well paced.. it was still a great game.... OT: yes lock picking would be good.. with Wii U controller it would be great...
MyDog
As long as the smashing window option returns, I'm ok.
blitz
Gee, after some thoughts I'm gonna go with no. I mean, surely the idea is considerable, but imagine that you are being chased by the cops and you need a car. The 10 seconds you spent lock-picking it, you've already been busted by a cop and are getting ready to respawn at the nearest police station. See, I think the lock-picking idea would add a lot of realism to the game, but I think the window breaking Niko Bellic style fits the theme a bit more. This feature wouldn't remove the window smash! It's just a new option.
