nkjellman
I'm looking to buying a new set up for my PC. I'm not sure about everything yet, so I thought Id ask to see what will get nice performance in GTA IV with great graphics settings. So Id like to update -i7 Quad Core 3.5 GHz -16GB of Ram So the question is do I need to update the Graphics card? My Graphics card is a Nvidia 460GTX. What FPS and what settings can I run the game on? I run my game on an AMD Phenum Quad Core 2.4 GHz, Nvidia 460GTX, 4GB of Ram. Texture Quality High Resolution 1920x1080 Reflection's High Shadows High Water Very High Texture filter Highest setting Night Shadows Medium (No difference in other settings) Veiw distance 25 Detail Distance 15 Vehicle Density 33 Deffinition Off V-sync On I get about 25 FPS. It doesnt jerk or anything so thats nice. What else can I update to get higher FPS, with higher settings, if not highest settings?
yoječ
Well, since you can afford such an expensive build, I'd upgrade the GPU too. GTX460 might not be enough for maximum setting (i7 is more than enough), though it'll be fine for high. Though, I think the best option is to wait for next-gen GPUs to hit the market. Also... why 16GBs of RAM? It's unnecessary. On a side note you moght be interested in waiting till Ivy Bridge CPUs are released, which is supposed to happen in April.
