Los Santos Pedestrian
Here it is, my concepts seem to be improving well, and I'll put more effort into this one. Be aware this is still under construction! Like in GTA: Vice City, Tommy's Story obviously follows the story of Tommy Vercetti, except now he is much younger, since it is now only 1971. He's only about 20, the youngest known GTA protagonist, but is still very toughened. Tommy was born in Liberty City in 1951 to an average middle-class family in Portland. His father, a World War II veteran, was a gun enthusiast and encouraged his son to learn how to use them by the time he was old enough, at about 12. This was also important, due to the fact of the degrading economy and infastructure of the city in the 1960's. During that time, Tommy and his dad ran a printing company. But in 1969, his dad broke both his legs in an accident and could no longer work. The business could not stay afloat and it was sold the next year. Desprerate for a job and losing money, he eventually was pulled into the crime underworld, and began work for the mafia in the first mission. In the final mission, he is betrayed by the own don, Sonny Forelli, and is sent to prison for 15 years. His prison sentence ends in 1986, obviously the beginning of GTA: Vice City. The year is, like already said, is 1971. The dawn of a new decade and the Vietnam War is about to end. At the same time, the industrial areas of America are collapsing, with the jobs being shipped to other countries and factories being abandoned. Map of Liberty City, circa MCMLXXI, courtesy of L.C. Surveying LTD It can be clearly seen that there are no major bridges in Liberty City at the time. Instead, there are subways and ferries that serve the population and get them across the islands. Two of the later-built bridges are the Callahan Bridge and the Shoreside Lift Bridge. The Shoreside Lift Bridge would be finished in 1977 and the Callahan Bridge in 1999. Factors to the delay between them being built include budget cuts for constuction companies in the 80's to the early 90's. Some more businesses are present in Portland, including a failing factory called the Patrol Petrol Company in Callahan Point. It is destroyed in a mission before unlocking Staunton Island. Other noticeable changes, like n Staunton, include that the underground freeway below the ramp to the Shoreside Lift Bridge has not been built. Many more docks are around the southern tip of the island. In Shoreside Vale, what is now Wichita Gardens was once Hammond Industrial & Residential Area, or simply just Hammond View. There is no lake there, and what would later be the high-rise tenements were small factories and houses. At Francis Intl. Airport, there is only one runway, the layout is slightly different and the only runway has not been lengthened. Nearby the airport is another ferry terminal. Shoreside Vale also includes more off-road routes. Weapons in GTA: TS may be slightly lacking due to it being set about 40 years ago. However there is still a wide variety of them. Pistols Pistol Walther PP Python Sub-Machine Guns Thompson MP5 Uzi MAC-10 Shotguns Shotgun Combat Shotgun Double-barreled Shotgun Rifles Bolt-action Rifle Sniper Rifle Assault Rifles AK-47 M16A1 M1 Carbine Ruger Heavy & Explosive RPG Minigun Grenade Grenade Launcher M-60 Molotov Cocktail Melee Fists Knife Machete Meat Cleaver Baseball Bat Brass Knuckles Nightstick Golf Club Katana Chainsaw Debris (can be found on almost any street) Like all Grand Theft Auto games, there is a wide variety of vehicles, ranging from cars to helicopters. In all games in the series, there have been unique vehicles only seen in one game, which is what happens in this one as well. There are some new vehicles, some that have returned, and others. List of vehicles: 4-door vehicles (Includes vans) Merit (Chevrolet Impala) Provo *NEW*(Ford LTD) Admiral (Lincoln Continental) Marbelle (Buick Electra) Sentinel (BMW New Six) Kuruma (Dodge Dart) Primo (Oldsmobile 98) Emperor (Cadillac Seville) Glendale (Buick Special) Oceanic (1950's GM Sedan) Pinnacle (Toyota Corona) Washington (Chrysler New Yorker) Perennial (Ford Country Squire) Regina (Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser) Fathom *NEW*(Mercury Monterey) Stretch (Cadillac Series 75) Pony (Ford E-Series) Burrito (Dodge Ram Van) Rumpo (Chevrolet Van) Camper (Volkswagen Type 2) 2-door vehicles & sports cars (Includes light trucks) Stallion (Plymouth Barracuda) Majestic (Toyota Crown) Sabre (Oldsmobile Cutlass) Infernus (Lamborghini Miura) Feltzer (Mercedes-Benz W113) Tecumseh *NEW*(Ford Model 48) Tampa (Chevrolet Corvair) Picador (Chevrolet El Camino) Innsbruck *NEW* (Volkswagen Karmann Ghia) Buccanneer (Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Peyote (Ford Thunderbird) Voodoo (Chevrolet Impala) Turismo (Ferrari 330) Bug (Volkswagen Beetle) Alpha (Toyota Celica) Coquette (Chevrolet Corvette) Comet (Porsche 911) Rancher (International Harvester Scout) Mesa Grande (Jeep CJ) Windsor (Alfa Romeo Spider) Broadway (Cadillac Series 62) Walton (Chevrolet Task Force) Bobcat (Ford F-Series) Dukes (Dodge Charger) Clydesdale *NEW* (Ford Pinto) Rhapsody (AMC Gremlin) Heavy industrial vehicles & large trucks Yankee (Ford F-600) Boxville (Chevrolet Step Van) Flatbed/Barracks OL (M939 Truck) Phantom (Peterbilt 281) Coach (GM New Look Bus) Public Service & Emergency Police Cruiser (Modified Merit) Police Patrol (Modified Provo) Cabbie (Checker Marathon) Taxi (Modified Provo) Fire Truck (Modified Yankee) Ambulance (Ford F-350) Enforcer (Freightliner E33) Police Maverick (Bell 206) Bicycles & Motorcycles Bike (Shwinn Sting-Ray) Veronica *NEW* (Matchless G3/L) Freeway (Harley-Davidson Duo Glide) PCJ-600 (Harley-Davidson XR-750) Wayfarer (Honda Goldwing, anachronism though) FU-119 *NEW*(Yamaha XS 650) Aircraft Shamal (Learjet 23) AT-400 (Boeing 747-100) Dodo (Cessna 172) Rustler (P-51 Mustang) Maverick (Bell 206) Sparrow (Bell 47) Alkaline *NEW* (Bell UH-1 Iroquois) Boats Note: Since the boats in GTA are unidentified, there are no real-life counterpart models listed here Reefer Speeder Rio Marquis Jetmax Like shown in the last section, there is a wide variety of vehicles available. This shows all of the public transportation and services avalible in the city. Subways & Elevated Trains Completed in 1930, the Portland El was commissioned after over-congestion had clogged the ferries going to and from Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale. Originally going to the other islands on an overground bridge, it was later turned into an underground subway in 1938. The current subway cars were ordered in 1967 to 1968 and still run to this day. The collapsed old subway bridge wreckage can still be seen under the water between Staunton and Portland. Buses The first bus line was founded in Staunton Island in 1913 as White Line Buses, and runs to this day as Freedom Bus Line. Buses can be rode or driven (of course), and any ride on a bus costs 25 cents. Buses do not go to other islands yet, since ferries cannot hold buses. However, buses run on every island. Freedom Bus Lines, the first bus company in Liberty City. Taxis The famous yellow cab popped up in the streets of Portland in 1908. Today there are thousands of them, driving around the city 24/7. Taxi fares are 35 cents/mile, which inevitably costs about $5 once you get on a ferry. Taxi drivers are often ill-tempered, so try not to damage their car. Police The LCPD was formed in 1869 and continues to this day. Ever since their formation over a century ago, they have kept the streets safe. They keep order to the city, including with the record-high crime rates. They drive black-and-whie modified sedans, and a brand-new fleet of SWAT vans arrived in December 1970. The police colors are going to change to blue and white soon, as proposed with these Enforcers. The Enforcers are only seen in Staunton Island. Elsewhere, they are replaced by the FBI. Medical Services These are the people for you to go to when feeling down. They can report to any area on the same island - since going on ferries would make it too late once they arrived. There is one hospital per island, located in Portland View, Asparita, and Pike Creek. All ambulance and hospital personnel are required to have gone to medical school and can revive most patients. Firefighters The LCFD was founded in 1872 and are currently preparing for the 100th anniversary of that date. They operate on every island, and are very quick to respond to fires. Their personnel are highly trained, and know what to do even under extreme situations. In Liberty City, there is a wide variety of local media, including radio stations, television stations, and newspapers. Radio Stations Head Radio Mixed post-1969 music Jackson 5 - I Want You Back (1970) Jimi Hendrix - Message of Love The Main Ingredient - Everybody Plays the Fool (1972) Bee Gees - How Can You Mend a Broken Heart? (1971) Creedence Clearwater Revival - Lookin' Out My Back Door (1970) Earth, Wind & Fire - Fantasy (1970) Electric Light Orchestra - 10538 Overture (1971) http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/8002/riset.[png] Rise FM Late 60's rock, mostly psychedelic The Zombies - Time of the Season (1968) Cream - White Room (1967) The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Voodoo Child (1968) The Jukebox 98.6 40's-50's rock no songs yet Liberty City Free Radio Talk Radio Shows: The Debate Room Republicans vs. Republicans vs. talk show hosts on this fast-paced show where senators and governors argue at each other. There is no actual official host, just people who work at LCFR host it. Chatterbox One of the only two original shows still surviving back when LCFR first aired in 1963. It both has guests on the show that are asked difficult questions, plus callers that say negative things about the host. The host is Ned Sherman. Breathing World After countless requests for a show like it, Breathing World aired in 1968 and focuses around the previous hippie movement. The two hosts are Shane "Green Panther" Holler and Alexandria Nelson. They both are always high on marijuana and are often criticized for making their guests stoned. Turbocharged! LCFR's newest show. It explains the hottest cars on the road right now, and how they are "greatly better to imported sh*t". The host is Jeremy White. The show dissolves in 1974, just three years after its airing. Earth Day, Everyday This show was aired in early May 1971, soon after the first Earth Day. It is hosted by Rebecca Sanders, an extreme converationist who doesn't use any electricity and rides a bamboo bike, with natural rubber tires and everything else wood. She talks about how she thinks everyone should stop using synthetics and plastics, and highly criticizes everyone who does. What's With Weather? A highly paranoid, mentally unstable man named Fargo McDonnel who thinks severe weather like tornadoes and hurricanes are planned events by the U.S. government to destroy their own property and blame it on Middle-Eastern countries for an excuse to go to war. East Coast Talk Radio Similar to LCFR, but with news, also a subsidary of WCTR Breaking In The day's top stories, which changes as the player advances through the storyline. Hosted by Nat Intrestin. Politics Now Like LCFR's program The Debate Room, Politics Now interviews governors and senators, along with top-secret government officials who are unable to reveal their names. Own Improvement Advice about how to stay thin, and thought at how the U.S. will have an 'obesity epidemic' in the following decades. The host is a fitness enthusiast who goes to the gym every morning and drinks protein shakes. The Mend a Heart Show The show for lovers who have lost their previous mates. The two hosts give them advice on finding a new one, along with young bachelors and bachelorettes who have recently found new mates. Television Staions News station Tonight at the Round Table The day's top news stories, which progresses as you play the storyline. The Court Room A show with top chosen court cases, along with murder cases. Crying For Crime This show's host drives around Portland looking for crime scenes, just so he can report on it. He occasionally provokes more crime just to make the show 'better'. Non-fiction station, many documentaries The History of America All the history of the United States, with a twist. The Inner-City A documentary about the degregation of Liberty City, alongside secretly added comedy. What'll Happen, Will Happen Predictions about the future of what will happen to America, most innacurate. Joint Session The show for pot heads, and the studio is constantly filled with suspicious fog. All people on the show are stoned, including the audience members, however that might not have been their choice. will post in a reply since I had too many images Edited January 31, 2012 by Los Santos Pedestrian
Los Santos Pedestrian
Many gangs run the streets of Liberty, mostly in Portland and Staunton Island. Some, like the Colombian Cartel, would only arrive in the 90s. The gangs present in LC in 1971 is listed here: Forelli Family - An old mafia branch formed back in the prohibition era, they rose to be the biggest family to this date. They operate in northern Saint Mark's, in Hepburn Heights and the Red Light District. Recently, their don became Sonny Forelli. They also have some control of Fort Staunton, where control is being debated over every mafia family. Leone Family - The Leone family was founded not too long after the Forelli's, but do not control much territory at all. This is due to that all of their management is in Sicily, and they cannot do much in the city. Their only turf is some of Saint Mark's and Chinatown. Sindacco Family - The newest of the mafia families in Liberty, formed less than five years ago. Hoever, they own a lot of territory already. Their turf is Harwood, Trenton, Portland View and the Atlantic Quays. and They are also attempting to gain control of Fort Staunton. Portland Triads - A very underground organization, formed before 1900. They only have area in Chinatown and some of Callahan Point. A large portion of their money comes from their fish company that operates in Portland as well. Uptown Yardies - Formed in 1965, they are a relatively new gang operating in Aspatria and Rockford. They are a rasta gang from Jamaica, who make a huge profit from growing and distributing marijuana. They also distribute cocaine, but at a much much lower rate. Also, some attempts by them have been made to control territory in Shoreside Vale, although mainly unsuccessful. Liberty City Biker Brothers - The LCBB were founded in the late 40's just as the first choppers appeared in America. They are one of the only gangs present in Shoreside Vale, around Hammond View and some of Cedar Grove. They drive custom bikes and wear leather jackets. All of the 'jobs' here include all side missions and random characters missions, which are most of the time nearly as long as an average mission. Random character missions are not qualified for 100% completion. Side Missions Taxi Driver Like the mission in every GTA III-era game, the aspect is to find fares, drive to the destination, et cetera. Fares decrease over time and when the vehicle is damaged. Vigilante Another mission that's been around for a very long time. However, this isn't just chasing cars like in the III era, it uses the IV style vigilante missions. Crimes that can be reported to are: Stolen car, gang activity, drug deal, stolen vehicle, supsect on foot, and robbery. Most Wanted Similar to the Vigilante missions, however now the purpose is to hunt down named criminals. They are always in a hideout somewhere, and they have a lot of bodyguards. Drug Running Drug running involves driving a selected vehicle to do twoandomly selected things: Deal, where you go to a waypoint to deal with someone within a time limit. Many times the person you meet will attack you Stash, where you drop off some drugs at a selected location (many times a storage garage), where occasionally you will be ambushed Export List This requires finding vehicles wanted for export. They will always be two-door cars or motorcycles. The cars available for export can be exported if they are found parked. After the desired vehicle is brought to the waypoint, a short cutscene will play. Once all vehicles are imported, you can purchase them for a fee between $500 and $6,500. Document Retrieval Former FBI member Jack Bordel is trying to make corruption charges against the people he used to work with almost killed him. In the side mission, you have to collect secret documents from the FBI and then get them to him. After you do all of his missions, FBI strength in the city will substantially decrease, making escaping from them easier. Random Character Like in GTA IV, you will sometimes encounter someone on the street, which activates a cutscene. Unlike GTA IV, all random characters will be unlocked, except if the island they're on hasn't. All random characters will give you a miniature mission. This is the list of random characters: James Miguel in north Saint Mark's - He will ask you to retrieve his money from a local gang of thugs in an apartment. They are only armed with baseball bats and knifes. Vera Pakrovich in Portland View - She wants you to confront her boyfriend who has beaten her. He will attack you and you can either shoot him or beat him until he's on the ground. Gerardo Calata in west Chinatown - A local deli owner who has been warned by the local Triads that they are going to rob his business. He asks you to warn them back that he won't take that, and eventually you have to kill them. Noah Baker in Bedford Point - Noah's car had been stolen and he wants you to return it to him. The car will be at a garage in Fort Staunton, and you have to return it without any damage. John Vessico in south Asparita - His motorcycle has broken down, and he asks you to fix it. A minigame then triggers where you are fixing the bike's engine. The minigame is fairly easy. Hans Rungten in central Fort Staunton - His warehouse is lit on fire by arson and he needs you to go inside and grab a box full of his information and some money. He will split his money with you if you retrieve it for him. Here's a list of all the missions in GTA: Tommy's Story. The missions are seperated by which district they're given in. Los Santos Pedestrian
Mission Scripts Intro - Long Live Liberty Tommy Vercetti is riding in a taxi in the early morning hours. He gets out, pays for the fare, and then knocks on the door of an apartment owned by the mafia. Someone at the door opens it up. Door Guy: You must be Tommy, right? Tommy: That's right. I'm here for my 'job interview'. Door Guy: Good, let's begin then. Tommy is then directed to where he is first given work. He is greeted on the second floor by a man named Giovanni, who likes to be called John, the English version of his name. John: So you're Tommy? Tommy: No. I'm the president. John: Ha, that's a good one. I'm Giovanni, but call me John. Tommy: Alright, John. John: So let's see your 'resume', shall we? Tommy: Sure thing. the camera then moves to the clock on the wall, which then advances 20 minutes to show how much time had passed Tommy: Impressed? John: I reckon so. I'm not used to 20 year-olds, I actually thought you were going to be at least 25. Really, you just came out of your teens, are you up for something like that? Tommy: Why not? I grew up in a family of veterans who also happened to be major gun enthusiasts. I mean, you're looking at someone who learned how to use a shotgun when he was twelve by a father who survived World War II and Korea. I'm bound to be at least slightly helpful. John: How can I believe you? I've been doing this for about 15 years and I've seen a lot of wise-talking liars. Tommy: How can I believe that? John: Ah, good one. I guess you're someone we can trust. While we're on topic, let's get you some work, huh? Tommy: Will do. John: So I'll explain you to the Forelli's and see if they'll accept you. In the mean time, let's scramble before someone finds us talking about this. If you do get the job, talk to one of my men in the alleyways of Saint Mark's. Here's the address. John hands Tommy a note with the address to the guy Tommy: Good to know. I'll catch you later. The player then drives back to his apartment, which is the first safehouse. You have to save to continue, and once you do a phone icon will appear on the radar, signaling the messenger who tells you when you have new missions (since there aren't cell phones yet) and if you can get missions from pay phones. Once you reach the messenger, he will trigger the first mission. Edited January 16, 2012 by Los Santos Pedestrian
IvoryX
Just awesome! Really nice layout and everything Document retrieval is a very promising idea but another thing Drug Running as long as Tommy is in Forelli Family he can't touch any drugs, families in Liberty City wasn't into drugs back in 70s

IvoryX
I took a closer look at the families, Salvatore Leone come to LC in '87 after an incident on Sicily. Not sure about the whole Leone family (mob). But you could make them a small mob which only starts operating in Portland and Sindaccos make more powerful as a strong enemy from Staunton Island. Since Yakuza comes in early 90s and Diablos, Southside Hoods and Colombian Cartel in late 90s, Triads and Yardies as a small times are enough but I would add some little Biker gang (remember Dwayne from LCS?) or some fighters like in the game/movie The Warriors (also set in 70s). What do you think?

Los Santos Pedestrian
Mission 2 - A New Job Tommy arrives at the messenger in the alleyway Tommy: So, did I get the job? Messenger: I just got the word from the Forelli's. They're accepting you, nailed it for sure. John wants to meet you for your first job. Tommy: Will do, thanks. Tommy goes to John's apartment/office/whateverthef*ck John: Hey Tommy, did you hear? Tommy: I heard, I'm in now. John: Ain't that great? You must be flattered. Tommy: ...Couldn't be more. John: Anyway, let's get down to business. There's this contact we have down in Callahan Point, which is Triad territory. Now we have nothing close to friendly relations with them, and he's afraid he'll get gunned down if he walks straight through their turf in Chinatown. So grab some wheels, pick him up, and drop him here, okay? Tommy: Sounds easy. I'll do it. John: Oh, and Tommy, he's a real paranoid idiot, don't act all generous and crap to him. Tommy gets a car/bike and drives to the contact Tommy: Are you the guy I'm supposed to get? Contact: Maybe, do I know you? Tommy: Do you know John? Contact: I know a lot of Johns. Tommy: Well, stop wasting both of our's time and get in. You're the one who's too f*cking scared to move from this spot. Contact is driven to the apartment Contact: Thanks, I appreciate it. Here's some cash. It's a generous pay too. Tommy: I'm not a cab driver, but thanks. Los Santos Pedestrian
Mission 3 - Wise Guy John's place again John: Hey Tommy, someone who can do a job for once here. I've got something for you. Tommy: That is...? John: Well, this guy I've been working with for a long time, has been acting suspicious lately. But now, I just found out he's been ratting us out! Assholes like him keep giving info to our enemies before we know, and by the time we do know, we'd all be ambushed to hell. Tommy: Who could possibly do something like that? John: Exactly. But he doesn't know we found out he's a two-timer, so pick him up and make up his mind the hard way, he'll be down at his apartment opposite the hospital. Drop by the gun store if you need a piece. Tommy: Make up his mind that way... sounds pretty good. Tommy goes to the weapon store (optional, you cheater) Store Owner: Hey, you must be Tommy. John just called, said you'd be swinging by. No matter, I've got a free gun in the alleyway behind the store. Tommy: Thanks. Tommy goes to the guy he's supposed to kill Tommy: Hey, you work with John, right? John's Worker: Yeah, why? Tommy: John says he needs to talk to you somewhere private, it's something special. John's Worker: Sure thing, me and him go pretty far back, you know? Tommy: I bet you do. At a cliff at Portland Beach John's Worker: This is where he's meeting me? Tommy: You mean meeting death? Yeah, this is where you're meeting it, you two-timing snitch sh*t. Tommy shoots the guy and he falls off the cliff Reward: $

Los Santos Pedestrian
Mission 4 - Firing Range John's goddamn apartment AGAIN. for f*ck's sake i'm glad you don't get his missions after this Tommy: Hey John. John: My new favorite worker! You know, in these last two times you've done work for me, that was more work than any other of the slumdog assholes that walk through here do. I'm actually proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself! Tommy: Thanks, no one's said something like that to me in a while. I mean, I might just be sent in prison soon and get sh*t said to me until I get released. John: Yeah, alright, let's get to business, shall we? Right, so, there's a contact I know, and he... Tommy: Ugh, this isn't another one of those taxi services, are they? John: No, it isn't. It's something you might enjoy more. Hey Ronnie, come down here! That guy named Ronnie appears from the third floor John: This here is Ronnie Cassidy. He's the guy you'd like to have for everything gun related. From a little town in Alabama, he's survived Korea and Vietnam, plus owns his own gun shop down in Trenton. Tommy: Nice to meet you. Ronnie: You too, err... Tommy: The name's Tommy. Tommy Vercetti. Ronnie: Huh. Italian? Nah, forget it, don't answer. Let's just get going. I've heard some stuff about you, and I hope you could help me with my rodent infestation. Tommy: Rodents? Ronnie: Yeah, 'hood rats', if that's what you call them. They've been saying sh*t about my gun shop and have already tried to rob it once and have pushed me to pay up my damn protection money. So let's give them what thry deserve. Tommy: Sounds like a deal. Outside of the place Ronnie: Okay, Mr. Vercetti, we need wheels to get there. inside car/on bike Tommy: So who has been pushing you around lately? Ronnie: Some damn Chinese jackasses walking their ground in Callahan Point, near my store. They're walking into the wrong area, and I don't appreciate it. Besides, that area is already controlled by the Mafia. You work for them, right? Tommy: I reckon so... Ronnie: Well, don't worry about it. What we need to worry about is getting these guys off of my turf. Tommy: Agreed. At the gun store, some Triads are killed Ronnie: Wow, nice one boy! I hadn't seen shooting like that since Vietnam! Well, we'd better separate before more of them come, but just return anytime if you want discount firepower. See ya around. Reward: $
