IllnessGTA Posted January 15, 2012 Share Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) It felt really odd when the military came in III, VC and SA, but I liked it. I wasn't a big fan of getting chased by those helicopters though. I'm hoping R* doesn't add the military to this game if they are intending to make it almost as realistic or AS realistic as IV. It'll seem out of place. Oh, and what is so good about the military at 6 stars? They weren't that fun. Well, they were fun but they seemed too over powered. (Well, I guess they would be since it is hard to get a 6 star in SA) EDIT - By the way, I'm not a fan of realism in games. I just think if V is going to be realistic then it shouldn't have the army. It would be stupid not to in Southern California given the military presence in the region's bases. They should just be realistically incorporated. I'm not saying they should all come to kill a single criminal like in the past but they should be involved in the game in one way or another nonetheless. Besides there was kind of a military jet in the trailer so...we may wanna connect the dots. R* isn't just trying to be realistic w/ GTA5. I am hoping for the army to be realistic (IF this game is also going down the realistic path). I want them to be fun as well, though. To be honest, how do you though that R* is trying to add fun aspects into the game? They add lots of cool stuff that were taken off before GTAIV was released. I can see planes being scrapped but, tear gas? night vision? car customization? Those were no brainers. Normally, the military doesn't chase down a psychopath with tanks and other trucks in a Southern California metropolis (unless that guy is a well-known terrorist who committed a major attack). I do understand that under some circumstances, the military is known to intervene in the U.S. as long as there is a state of emergency, but if there is no State of Emergency in place, the military is not allowed to take over the duty of police departments. Also, the Army normally wouldn't be sent to kill just 1 guy. Leave that to the CIA. Whether the army is included in the 6 star wanted level or not, I hope tanks are at least realistic. If you look VERY closely, it looks similar to the Barracks OL army truck in the GTA III Era games. It's hard to see though because of the dust around it. I remember in GTA III when the army soilders had an assault rifle that would take you out in less than a second, even with full health and armor.
