boogachamp
For funsies, I just watched the trailer again at half speed with VLC. Something stuck out this time, the family talk. Seeing how the "main" guy seems to be older, it does not seem far fecthed that the his kids could be in their twenties or something. And right when he says "well, you know how is is" is the heist scene. I think those other two dudes are his kids! Maybe that is the "obvious" thing we are missing. I am feeling pretty confident that the "family" aspect plays a big role here.

LotusRIP
Actually a family multiple-protagonist game would be the best way to go about it. Leaves room for some very good character development for sure.

Vormek
Most likely not. I don't think he has a black kid and a latino as a son. Perhaps adopted And no, the protagonist is not from a hispanic background as some people claim. He's American and my source claims he comes from an Irish family. Lemans
I just thought about the "family" thing and well, a theory came to my mind (probably wrong, but oh well): The voice (don't give a f*ck about if it's Ned Luke or not) in the trailer talks about retiring from a previous life, moving to LS to get that point, having a family and having kids like the kids on TV (the American-dream-style family and kids), etc, etc. But he's obviously not going to get that and will be involved in some sh*t that will make him go back into criminal actions. And don't forget either that all he says is in past tense, so... How about he's talking about all those new-life-dreams because none of them came true. He bought a big house to move to LS, but he didn't get a family like the one he dreamt about. Instead of that, he got a "family" consisting in the three main guys we see in the trailer because something happens and makes them have to work together to solve a common problem, and none of them can trust anyone else than the other two guys in the group. You know, something based on how Destiny can make three men who apparently share nothing with each other have to fight together against a major and a common issue. That's what I think watching the trailer, and I can imagine the 2nd trailer will tell us the story behind one of the other guys. Assuming the voice in this trailer belongs to the Ned Luke-like character, the 2nd one might be about the life of hispanic guy in the red car, or the black one who's chased by the police. And the robbery in the Rodeo jewerly shop might be the starting of their common lifes.
AB0333
Yeah, this thing itched me last night, too, but I doubt the protagonist actually has kids. I understood it more like 'his kids would be like kids on TV' (he would like to have kids in future, he would like his kids have a normal life, know what I mean?) Btw, I wouldn't like to make excuses before ever mission, like: "Sorry kids, but daddy has to go to chop off some heads, I'll be back soon." OatMuffin
Although I like the idea, I don't think it would work since a couple of the supposed protangonists are different in terms of racial backround. One seems to be Hispanic, while another is Caucasian, and clearly one is African American. Unless they are all adopted - which I highly doubt Rockstar would incorporate - I don't think this is a plausable outcome. Just my 2 cents. This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It would be Hella cool to have two guys you have to work with. Friendship and trust would develop, and at the end of the game one of them would get too greedy and try to take care of loose ends, and you would have to kill him. Ooooooooh I can see the deep emotional Plot already BTW, I really don't want to play as an old guy. They're just not cool. Family and a family of crime WILL be in the story. Why the hell would they have him mention his kids unless they were of some kind of significance to the story? His kids, being in my opinion the other 2 characters we see, would easily explain how they could explore more than 1 protagonist.

There is such thing as a "white hispanic" that's why when they ask for race on legal forms it says "non-white Hispanic" also have you ever considered that his kids could be of mixed racial background. Maybe this older gent is a total player and knocked up a Mexican and a balck woman around the same time.

GTA 360
You guys are saying that those don't look like kids, but he didn't say he moved there now, he says that he moved there, and he thought his kids would be like the kids on TV... but you know how it is. So maybe those are his kids, and maybe things didn't turn out how he hoped and the kids turned into hardened criminals, because it doesn't say WHEN he moved there, just that he did, for all we know it could have been 30 years ago and he is telling us the story like a flashback. I think he's on to something, and I think we play as one of his "kids".
1whitebuddah
If the protaganist is a father that could lead to a very gripping and emotional story line as most of us can relate to the characters as we all have dads, maybe you play as the father for a few hours and he dies( emotional bit lol) then you play as his son(s). S1LV3R_W0LF
"My kids, would be like the kids on TV". I think we'll plays as Justin Bieber father or something like that, that used his son money for gambling and hookers and now he need to recover it. --------- Or you play as a father all the time, that see his family getting killed and then he gets revenge (ya typical Hollywood movie". cousinletsgobowling
I think what happened was that guy just got divorced and his wife was given sole custody of his kids who must be quite young. This could be why he moved to Los Santos. '"Why did I move here?" He could just be uncomfortable in talking about his divorce hence why he sounds so hesitant in giving his reasons. So he moves to LS to start all over again. Obviously he's rich enough (from his previous crimes sprees) to afford a new house. But with things like the economy and perhaps increased child support costs he finds he needs to return to that life of crime to pay the bills.
