ccrogers15
Buy an xbox, even if you already have one. If think I get what you mean. Even if you already own a 360, you should still buy another one because it is highly likely it will breakdown and get RROD. General I bought a 360 Arcade in 2009 and never once got a RROD. I now have a 360s that I bought 2 weeks after release in 2010 which has been flawless. Thats great for you, and you are one of the extremely lucky ones who have never experienced a 360 breaking down on them. It's a shame the same cannot be said for a good few million other 360 owners. I know quite a number of people who own 360s and ALL of them had at least one 360 break down on them, and ALL of them had to get them replaced and buy new ones. Despite your good fortune, lets face it, the 360's failure rate was just legendary (in bad way). It's only relevant to the early ones. The 360s doesn't have the same failure rate and is far, far more refined than the original 360. True, but the 360s still has issues. At least it warns before shut down and makes you save your game instead of just shutting off and showing rings. The 360S is an improvement from the 360, but its still bad. Remember the ORIGINAL xbox from 2001? Yea, that had loads of RROD issues.

Despite your good fortune, lets face it, the 360's failure rate was just legendary (in bad way). Every PS3 owneer I know personally, has had to replace their PS3's at least once. That include my brother and 4 friends. The only 5 PS3 owners I socialise with have had to replace them, only my Bro had any standing warrenty and the others had to rebuy. I give you the Paperweight 3. @ Miamivicecity Yeah I hear it has improved now, but I personally think the whole RROD really derailed the 360's attempt to get on top of the PS3, giving the PS3 a great chance to catch up and now it has. The 360 lost a great deal of standing because its extremely terrible reliability and failure rate. @ Chukkles Whatever. I'm stating something that is actually true, you are just making things up and taking shots in the dark, desperately trying to get even with the PS3, even if it means clearly telling lies about it. You know deep down that the PS3 does not have anywhere near the level of hardware problems the 360 does. I'm not lying. Original PS3's were just as bad as original 360's. Just sony made a good effort to sned out new ones to warrenty holders within a week or 2 wereas microsoft had some waiting for a month or more. Thats the reason M$ got such backlash. I truely know of 5 PS3 owners who were left with a block. Other than that I don't care what you believe, carry on thinking sony are the best console makers in the world with no problems at all. hayden11
The developers would be able to put more data onto a disk if it wasn't for the 360. Case closed. Let's moved on, shall we?

Apart from inevitable freezes I've found both brands pretty good. Never had a Playstation or XBOX crap on me.
kailomonkey
I'm not sure about "easier" to develop on PS3 first, but it might be better in terms of using each console to its own full potential. HD-DVD and Blu-Ray have plenty of space, so they don't have to use every last bit of Blu-Ray space. Especially since there is DLC these days. The disc space is not very high on the list of ways PS3 could be used to better advantage. So yea, it would make sense to build the game for PS3 so that the PS3 is used to its full potential, then port to XBOX360 and use this console also to its full potential. But then again I had no problem with RDR on PS3, GTAIV could have been better. I expect it is more complicated than how I've put it though. I would really like to see GTAV excel and be an absolutely amazing game, on both consoles, and in regard of each console's capabilities. That's my wish. the 360 uses Regular DVD's Not HD-DVDs Wow really? Someone should tell the game developers! If they're going to make 360 games their other console should be PS2. I hope a new xbox comes out soon using higher capacity discs so gaming can move forward.
Blackous666
Look ppl... u cant spot diferences with only eye when u play trough the game... its almost impossible to say... that on xbox360 is better graphics than on PS3 ... btw: i hope GTA V wont be on 1080p but only 720p ... on 1080p u can see fps drop down ...and I have my PS3 for about 5 yrs now... and still no problem ... at least.... Is it all about graphics??? so...GTA5 or RDR should be nicelooking gfame with sh*tty stoyline right??? :D... its about gameplay...then its about graphics Edited January 18, 2012 by Blackous666
NYC PATROL
GTA IV is coming up on 4 years old, and the 360 and PS3 versions are still very comparable. When they started dev. on IV some tech was still new, Dev. for the PS3 was a little harder but now with time passing tech gets better, the programmers gain more experience developing for the consoles. Look at RDR, i mean the sky and shadows are very crisp on both the 360 and PS3. And that game released just 2 years after IV released. The tech has definitely translated over to V(with massive improvements-Wind,Shadows,Graphics in general). There's also no doubt that V's trailer was on a console. Consoles always come before PC in development in Rockstar's world or not at all. (sorry to say pc owners, it's true though.)
Magic_Al
Team Bondi developed L.A. Noire with their own engine and with the PS3 as the lead platform. If you look at the credits, Rockstar San Diego's RAGE team was involved too. Ignoring MotionScan which was responsible the character heads in the game, the L.A. Noire engine was made do many of the same things RAGE does, since the game involved a similar open-world environment as a GTA game. Since Rockstar owned Team Bondi's work product, hopefully information was exchanged, and maybe some Team Bondi people moved to Rockstar, and the newest versions of RAGE seen in MP3 and GTA V will have less of a detectible quality gap between 360 and PS3 versions.
