Samsuxx
I'm pretty sure I know what the OP is talking about. For anyone that didn't know, they originally perfected it on the Xbox and then just ported it over to the PS3. But they ended up postponing the release so that they could perfect the PS3 version. So no, they will be the same on both. But the PS3-version was still worse than the Xbox-version. Same with RDR. Does this make sense? No.
œaœa
I really think this topic should be locked because it's getting ugly. However, As someone who has played the PS3 and 360 versions of GTA IV A LOT I can honestly say that the PS3 and Xbox both have the same number of peds and cars on the road. The problem with PS3 is that it does have more blur than the Xbox version and their is more aliasing. I do, however, like the warmer tone that the PS3 version has. To me, it is a bit more realistic. And you all need to shutup about the multiple discs thing... seriously? Is it really gonna be SO BAD that you have to change your disc? If you don't want to, then install it to the hard drive. That's just my two cents. Stop the console wars.
senor_huevos_benedicto
It depends whether Rockstar shelled out to make developing the game on the PS3 worthwhile, as it's much harder. If they didn't, and knowing Sony they probably didn't, it'll be developed (and therefore superior) on the Xbox and ported over to be an ever so slightly worse version on the PS3. Maybe you should be less ignorant and look at the facts The PS3 version of both ran at just 640p while it ran on 720p on the Xbox. It also didn't ran at 30FPS, though it had a lower resolution. It was more laggy than the Xbox-version. The range of view is also a bit shorter, but nothing great. Okay, the lightning is a bit better on the PS3 and the antialising methods are a matter of opinion, but overall, the PS3-version didn't look as great as the Xbox-version. Btw. I'm saying this as someone who played with all Playstations and I don't own a Xbox.

Secura
Does anyone have a decent comparison video for GTA IV between the PS3 and Xbox 360? RDR wasn't really smooth on PS3, especially when in a town like Armadillo. PC vs X360 vs PS3 Xbox 360 has better lightning effects and a sharper picture. I don't see the difference..... ccrogers15
Lol what? Its the same on ps3, besides the insane load times. I love ps3 and 360. Ps3 being the top. 360 gets the problems with games, ps3 gets the buggiest games. GTA IV takes forever to load. Same as its 2 expansions and saints row 2. The sims 3 takes long as well. 360 games load way faster. Either way im still getting it on ps3 since: 1. Free online play 2. I own a ps3 and not a 360. 3. I will never get a 360 again, not after the 4 that RROD on me.

Dick Valor
xbox sucks balls Get outta here wth that crap... No one wants that going on. Did you look at the topic? This whole thing was about starting a console war. sh*tBox vs. sh*tStation... who gives a sh*t? Stop being insecure about your consoles. They both have advantages and disadvantages. Thanks to a roommate, I have IV on 360 and PS3. Like the Housers, I prefer the PS3 version of IV, but that doesn't mean the 360 fans aren't entitled to their opinion and vice versa. I find that the reputed sharpness of the 360 version makes Niko look a bit out of place and unnatural (kind of like how the characters look in the Dragon Age games). On the other hand, trees and vegetation, at certain angles, look like crap on the PS3 versions of both IV and RDR (this may also be the case on the 360 version of RDR, but I haven't investigated it thoroughly.) Like I said, each has its advantages/disadvantages. Obviously, the 360 version of V will have the disadvantage of being multiple discs, but perhaps it could have slightly sharper graphics. I find the difference between the two has always been negligible (I have both so I would know) and I expect this to be true of V.
cp1dell
You're all f*cking morons. This was a basic discussion at first. The OP wasn't trying to start a console war topic, everything was fine until the retards flooded in and tried to turn it into a console war discussion. They both have their pros and cons, they both play games, you don't need to compare them.
Fridope07
IV on 360 looked dark and muddy and the edges looked jagged. Ps3 has a is bright and smooth and the textures are more detailed, especially the faces of the peds. Didn't see a difference in frame rate. Gtaghost22
I'm sorry but i have to disagree, GTA IV was better on PS3. I have both verisions and xbox 360 have was more issues/glitches (esp. Framerate drops) so i dont know what are you talking about.. Anyway.. I think GTA V will be better on PS3 because xbox 360 will have multipe disks which sucks. PS: i have BOTH.. Official General
I was wondering if GTA V on the PS3 version would have a less quality than the xbox360 version like it had in GTA IV (in Framerates, textures...) and in Red Ded Redemption (the same things...). What do you think? (Please do not start a game console war in this topic) The PS3 version of GTA IV was not of lesser quality than the 360 version. I remember the reviews clearly, and for most part they stated that both versions were more or less the same. Yeah both versions did have their slight differences and some preferred the less colourful, but more realistic-look PS3 version, while some preferred the brighter, clearer colours of the 360 version, its just a matter of personal taste. In fact some gaming sites actually stated that the PS3 version looked a more 'smoother and reaslistic' than the 360 version, and the 360 version apparently had quite a few pop-in issues. However for most part, both versions were very similar in quality. The Complete Edition of GTA IV + Episodes on the PS3 actually looks slightly better than the original GTA IV copy that was first released. As for Red Dead Redemption, again thats a matter of personal preference. When RDR was first released, many 360 fanatics screamed at the top of their lungs that the 360 version looked much better than the PS3 version. It turned out to be a pile of bullsh*t, the only thing the 360 version had over the PS3 version was slightly more grass, woweee!! Other than that, both games looked very identical to each other, minus a few minute differences. I nearly believed the fools too, I was a bit scared that it might have been true, just before buying it for my PS3. I have seen both versions of RDR and I genuinely prefer the PS3 version, it had a nice balance of smooth and sharp visuals with a less colourful, but more realistic look. The 360 version had visuals that were too brightly coloured and a bit too sharp, I personally don't like that look when it comes to games with graphics that are heavily based on realistic locations and environments. RDR looked incredible and amazing on the PS3, its still one of the best looking games on the PS3. If anything you need to be more worried about the fact that the 360 version of GTA V may need more than one disc . You just better hope that such a potentially, great and amazing game like GTA V will not be using multiple discs on the 360. Thats what you should be looking at instead. @ cp1dell Are you stupid ?? What did the OP just do ? He was comparing the PS3 and 360 in his first comment regarding GTA IV. Of course, something like is THIS is going to invite a console war subject. I'm saying this as someone who played with all Playstations and I don't own a Xbox. Tell me one GTA game on consoles that have ever ran smoothly at 30+FPS with no stutter or frame drop? Well you can't. Not sure about GTA 3, but VC ran at around 28 FPS I think, and did get some frame rate issues, San Andreas ran at 24 FPS, and the frame rate issues got bad. Like really bad. GTA IV runs at 30 frames, but dips down so much it's not even worth noting. Oh and it happens on both consoles. On PS3 if you have 16 players running around blowing sh*t up, the frames will drop. On 360 if you have 16 players running around blowing sh*t up, the frames will drop. @Lightning Strike: Anyone with common sense wont see the difference between PS3 and 360 footage. It's just the graphics nerds who jizz their pants over games like BF3, Skyrim, or other stupidly graphics over powered. BF3 also has to much bloom. Some people get hard for that though. That being said, R* generally prefer Sony over xbox. LA Noire started as a PS3 exclusive, according to a highly believable rumor, GTA IV started as a PS3 exclusive(which it probably would have been), RDR started as a PS3 exclusive. Not sure about MP3, but the PS3 is probably the lead console. And now GTA V. Which once again, the PS3 is probably the lead console.

Triple Vacuum Seal
PS3 is only slightly more powerful than the Xbox 360 and that has nothing to do with the disk space (which has more to do with the developers content distribution on disk) for all of these ps3 fanboys trying to sound technical. I believe that the ps3 has always had a slight upper hand over the 360 but not to the extent it should have an upper hand given that it came out later than the 360 and the higher price didn't correlate with the quality as Sony essentially had at least an extra year to see what the competition had on the market. I have never in my life seen a game on ps3 that was much better than its 360 counterpart. They are essentailly the same console but most ps3 owners want to convince themselves and others that the extra buck was well spent and I can respect that effort but GTA5 will likely be the same on both.
