Dupuis53
I am having the hardest time to replace a car with one i downloaded. I downloaded http://www.gta4-mods.com/vehicles/2006-hen...e-elsepm-f12035 . But i am so lost as to using open IV to replcae the car. Could anyone give me a nice step by step tutorial as to how to edit everything?
ZBNYNC
Sure here's a step by step guide: 1. Run OpenIV as administrator 2. Click on the version of GTA IV you're using, either regular IV or EFLC 3. Go to the open folder icon in the top left 4. Go to wherever you Rockstar Games and IV folders are 5. Once you get there, go to pc/models/cdimages and open vehicles.img 6. Once in vehicles.img go to the top and click on edit mode and tell it to add new file (Green plus) 7. Import the vehicle file that you want and you're done. OpenIV will save automatically.
Dupuis53
It just does not work, i renamed the files i downloaded to fbi, i did it step by step but i load the game through steam and the fbi car i have parked in front of my house is still just the normal car... Anyway i could have you help out with team viewer or something?
ZBNYNC
Does OpenIV display any sort of error message when replacing the car? Have you tried to use SparkIV instead of OpenIV?
Dupuis53
No error message, and i guess i will try sparkIV do you have a link to it?
ZBNYNC
SparkIV 0.6.7: http://www.gtavision.com/index.php?section...ownload&id=2912 Just ask if you need help with SparkIV, it's laid out pretty much the same way but to me it's a lot easier than OpenIV,
Dupuis53
Spark IV made it work! CUDOS! but now about 90% of cars on the road are cabbys haha
ZBNYNC
Good, now if you want to fix the taxi problem you could try one of the taxi fixes if you want. Here's one that always worked well for me: http://www.gta4-mods.com/script/trafficload-f9780 If you decide to use it, just know that it takes a lot of RAM to stop textures from popping in. Dupuis53
i have a good enough comouter, but where do i put the files for Trafficload, since sparkIV only lets you replace files?
Dupuis53
I just installed a trainer and steam decided to update the game? so now nothing works... Edited January 14, 2012 by Dupuis53
ZBNYNC
Once you get the stuff with Steam worked out, just put the three files included with TrafficLoad into IV's main folder. What version of IV were you running when Steam wanted to update? Did it want to updated IV's patch?
