I saw this on the Rockstar Games website today, and I have to say that it is absolutely insane the difference in physical size between the Grand Theft Auto III script which looks to be a couple of thin booklets, and the Grand Theft Auto IV script which is absolutely huge!

 

In my opinion, it wouldn't surprise me if the final script for Grand Theft Auto V would be double that of Grand Theft Auto IV's script.

I think he just means the massive jump in script content from GTA3 and GTA4, just making a point of how huge GTA5's script could be.

 

To be honest though, who gives a sh*t. I won't be playing the game and sitting there critiquing the script the whole time. As long as a pedestrian shouts out "My mother is my sister" and I can climb mountains and sh*t, doesn't matter.

I estimate the size of Vs script around 30% bigger than IV.

 

Would be interesting to see RDRs script as well.

lol Ah I see what you are saying and agree with you. The script has always got better. It has progressed from game to game to be much better and I expect no less from V. But like you said I am not gonna sit there and critique it as I play.

I honestly think that V's script will be roughly around the same size as IV. But if there's a bigger map, would that mean there's more sections, therefore more different styles of peds and that means more dialogue?

Damn. I have never seen a script anywhere near that size. Thinking back on all the peds. dialogues and quips it kinda makes sense but still... that is insane. I thought one of the Housers wrote the scripts. Even if it is two people then that is unbelievable. I think they will go for slightly bigger than that for V.

Don't wanna get off topic, but SOPA will never pass. For a few reasons.

 

1. It will destroy the Internet as we know it. Not only does it block copyrighted material, but if passed it would block American access to websites that contain copyrighted material. Which is every single website on the internet.

 

2. A bunch of people in the House of Congress or whatever, who agree with SOPA, have admitted that they don't even know what it does.

 

3. It's stupid, and who ever came up with the idea should feel bad.

 

Now on topic. Rumors and speculation said that GTA V's script was about 5 times longer than an average movie script, coming in at a little over 1,000 pages. So if GTA V clocks in a script that is about 1,000 pages, it will either be a long game, or a normal length game with a very detailed pedestrian dialogue.

 

@Jeeebuuus: I know Dan Houser writess the majority of the script himself. But I do recall hearing that Lazlow helped write San Andreas, and I think GTA IV.
