Digital Aqua
I recently purchased gta 4 on my dads computer, which I checked and it has all the system requirements, It gets fatal error rmn30. Heres the story: I could play gta4 before but just, when I went on vacation, I tried it and it had fatal error rmn40, then when I went back home it had fatal error rmn30, I tried almost all fixes, still same error! Please help. Edited January 6, 2012 by Digital Aqua

EvilDog77
If it was working before you went on vacation then a system restore to a point in time before you left might fix it. As for buying a new computer, that's a bit of an extreme measure. If the system restore doesn't work, reinstalling the game might. Worst case scenario would be having to reinstall Windows altogether. You should post your system specs, including the version of Windows you're using.

RomansDad
Hey. I'm pretty sure the problem is to do with service packs. I'm guessing you using Windows XP 64 / Server 2003? If so you need to have Service Pack 2 or higher to play. Idk where to get service pack 2+ or w/e but GL. Oh, and for RMN40 you need, to have Service Pack 3 or higher to proceed. RomansDad
It doesn't matter if you're on windows xp sp2 the Error codes tell you that you need to get service pack 3. RMN40 Windows XP: Need to have Service Pack 3 or higher to proceed. RMN30 Windows XP: Need to have Service Pack 2 or higher to proceed. Trust me, do it and it will work.
