Arsen Vitiuk
M16 hands down! This gun will tear ANYTHING and ANYONE apart in a mere second!
Th3MaN1
The M-16 has a big rate of fire, better range, and a bigger magazine.Through the M 16 is a better choice,I like the AK-47 a lot more. It's more fun with it.I only use the M-16 in missions where you have to blow up cars, since aiming with the RPG or grenade throwing is a bitch. lol232
M16 hands down! This gun will tear ANYTHING and ANYONE apart in a mere second! What about Chuck Norris, T-850, Rhino, and any Bulletproof Car ? You can buy a bunch of everything. 1 Million is a LOT LOT MORE than enough. You can buy, let's say even 50 Of Each Weapon. You can also collect packages for free weapons and body armour! In real Life, I'd take Kalashnikov (AK-47), but in GTA III I'd take M-16, it will kill ANYBODY (Besides Chuck Norris and T-850) withing a single bullet, and destroy any vehicle (besides a Bulletproof vehicle and Rhino). fireguy109
AK-47 is a lot easier to aim with and conserve ammo with in a firefight. Even though the M16 kills with one shot you still end up wasting ammo.
DEALUX
The M-16 has more recoil but it causes more damage, so overall it is the better choice. But you can own both weapons at the same time. The recoil is only noticeable when aiming in 1st Person.Other than that,in the PC version,it will always shoot where you point. But,you'll end up wasting ammo because of the very big rate of fire.My choice is the AK-47. Arsen Vitiuk
Even though the M16 kills with one shot you still end up wasting ammo. If you are skilled enough, you will be able to shoot without wasting a single spare bullet.
fireguy109
Yeah but then he has to bring up the gun after each time you line up a shot in order to pull the trigger., which takes time - especially when you have a horde of Cartel attacking you. Arsen Vitiuk
Accuracy or efficiency was always the matter for this weapon: you can have them both, but never at the same time.
oglevempire
I guess that people don't really understand we're speaking about the Chuck Norris M16 version like in GTA3. In GTA3, the M16 has a f*cking unbelievable damage rage, you can spray anything to death. Very powerful and fast. On the other hand, the AK47, is quite slow and his damage rate is much lesser than the M16's. It seems that Rockstar games don't see the difference between AK and MP5. Arsen Vitiuk
The thing is, AK47 in GTA III is close to what we would see in real life. But yes, the M16 in the real world is much less powerful than that. Perhaps Rockstar thought that with the development of new GTA games, each one getting closer and closer to reality, it will be harder for them to maintain the image of the Minigun-like M16 - probably the reason they introduced the Vulcan Gattling Gun in Vice City. DuckEarly
M-16 is beast, buy loads of ammo for it and go tear up the leones, payback for their shotguns
LaikaBoss
M16 is by far the better choice if you're good with manual aiming.
Timcatgt5
I'd stick to accuracy rather than fire-power, The AK is useful at the 2nd island, with the lock-on mode and fire away at your enemies, the M16 has a manual aim but the devastating fire-power can take down your foes within a microsecond, if you were in a situation between the FBI and the Army, I'd go for the AK. DanDigiMan
The M16 spits bullets out way too fast for me. It's more powerful than the AK, but I use the AK more often than the M16
josepha916
M16 is good for cutting limbs. Although I never fired a one shot kill with M16 to the torso. But the limbs/head, almost always.
Sneakerhead.
AK all the way, the M16 has way too much recoil. It's damn near impossible to get a kill.
Andreas
AK all the way, the M16 has way too much recoil. It's damn near impossible to get a kill. It's very easy to handle the M16, and you will only get to notice the recoil if you're using the gun in first person mode. If you use it the way you use the AK-47, and you have some skills in aiming, then the M16 is the far better choice. The better your skills are, the lesser the probability you waste your ammunition. It depends though how much money you have. If it's limited, then you should probably go with both, but I would try to use the AK-47 the most in shootouts. And if you have no more munition or if it's getting dangerous, e.g. five or six star wanted level, then the M16 is the way to go. MrMateczko
Ak47 deals less damage than Uzi, so M16. (note from weapon.dat)
GoldenBlade
I like to use the AK-47, therefore it's probably my preference. The M16 is great when going on massive killing sprees, though.
GTAKid667
AK47 as it is not free aim! GoldenBlade
AK47 as it is not free aim! Free aim is not a problem but the M16 can be strange to handle on PS2 Yeah, it is a little difficult, but really, it all depends on your skill level. Everybody has a different point of view. I find it a little challenging myself, but it's not "impossible". It's just that the handling of it can be a bit weird, as you said.
