universetwisters
No sorry what the hell you been living under a damn rock yes you can of course. sorry man, new to the 4 modding comunity. i havent seen many custom-made buildings, apart from ones made in trainers/imported from other maps speaking of import, is it possible to make a building in sketchup as well? XTREME0235
No sorry what the hell you been living under a damn rock yes you can of course. There's really no need to be rude about it, you might be the one living under the rock seeing as you don't seem to know how to attribute simple courtesy in your post. universetwisters; yes you can import custom buildings/objects into GTA IV but you just need the right tools in order to do so. 3DS MAX, GIMS and OpenIV is all you need really. I thought it wasnt possible 'cause theres not a lot of examples out there, ya know? The closest thing to that from what ive seen was making buildings with trainers now, when you're done making the building, how do you add it onto the map? do you put it on the map via 3dmax or put it in via trainer? XTREME0235
Sorry unfortunately I don't have knowledge on how to perform the procedures in order to get custom maps/objects in the game. You best of asking someone like Quechus13, GTARandom, stilldre or anyone else with map modding experience. Good luck with what ever you may be working on. Frank.s
This tutorial should give you a decent explantion of how to export IV maps from 3dsmax using GIMS and OpenIV. (taken from the tutorial section of GTAF) Also here is a tip, never use Sketchup because it will only cause un-needed problems 'down the road'. 3dsmax is the way to go.
