NaidRaida
Hello, a qestion for staff members: Is it necessary to report double postings? I basically think no because it´s a pretty small issue, not worth to bother, but it may be helpful for staff members to locate members who are continously obstinate or rule offending. I reported some double posts in the past when I consider that this member should have known it better and there wasn´t a pressure to double or triple post. But I´m not sure if that´s clever. What you think is the best way? If that´s not helpful and only putting more and more work on the staff´s desk I will avoid that. Thank you
Miro
Well, if you want to help moderators to remember the guy about double-posting if he does it again, it's good to report. But simple double posts don't have to be reported. It's not bad to report them, but big thing can't really be done by staff. Either remind the person with a reply in the topic or a reminder in the Member Log, but even that reminder won't be given at the first double post mistake. Sure, if you see someone abusing this, and doing it for fun, or if for instance you see triple / quadruple posting, than it's good to report them. Even so, when it comes to busy sections such as the GTA V forum, you could just ignore them, since that place is anyway full of newbies, and taking care of each double post would be a pain in the butt for both the report and the staff. Just my opinion, although I'm not a moderator / administrator. Dead (Retired)
Girish
Yeah, we don't remind/warn new members for double posting. Only when a person does it repeatedly after being told once. So, you can report accordingly... if you can actually go through the trouble of checking his posting history.
ZDANZ96
Sometimes I visit the DYOM forums just to see kids arguing with each other. One day I reported a quadruple or more from a member, john12 if I am more correct. Then I reported it and asked them in the topic if it was allowed, they said it was. So I am asking here, if it is allowed to double/triple post in DYOM section?
Greenline
AFAIK, it's allowed to double post to announce an update to your "mission packs".
Miro
It's also annoying to see that happening. To be honest, it's not worth to post EVERY single time you update something. Rather just do a bigger update and put it all in one post. @ Greenline: I agree with you on that one, but a quadruple posting such like this one is clearly un-needed. Especially since it's been barely 24 hours. Dead (Retired)
Greenline
You mean the posts around this? (scroll up) Well, he posts new missions, so I think it's valid. Although he could edit his questions into the previous posts
Andrew
I class them as not valid, they were posted within a few hours of each other.
Miro
Yes, that's the perfect proof, Greenline. Look at the time. 2 minutes difference. Was it needed a 6th comment just to post the .ZIP? Dead (Retired)
NaidRaida
What Girish said makes sense. If you know something about a specific poster´s - maybe bad - history, then a report makes sense to locate those obstinate members.
Satourn
I thought DYOM users that have topics for their mission packs are allowed to post updates even if it's double/triple/quadruple posting, as Greenline said. However, all the un-needed posts, like the arguing that ZDANZ said about, are not allowed, it's annoying me and many DYOM users.
