Okay then smile.gif

I'll tell you right away... i am a real sucker for this type of story, so you can pretty much tell how i feel about Walter. This phase of the story, the actual start of it all (which, if you think about it, is already the point of breaking bad) i find very exciting. I have no problem whatsoever with anything that happened so far. See, i always find myself trying to decide what I would do/have done.

So, the decision to actually have a go at the criminal side of this world? - Understandable and exciting. Everyone has had daydreams of having big amounts of money, and i for one am not shy of seeing the illegal opportunities. Not afraid to admit i've experimented with this my own past. But that's TMI.

With Walt being a chemistry expert, it's the most obvious choice for him to look at manufacturing synthetic drugs, which is all about chemistry. But it's a ballsy move man! Definitely more dangerous than trying to just sell drugs, but really offers a chance at the big money...

...so morally, i kinda respect him for this decision. He doesn't even give a single f*ck he's got a relative in the DEA. And the way he finds his way in, shows he's cunning. He's commited, so he confronts this former student and plain blackmails him to 'cut him in'. But now that i think about it, was this really smart of him? Work with the very first person you find, a young man with a drug problem himself, who almost got busted by the DEA for christ' sake? I guess it was just his only option, but if it was me, i'd take a good look around first to see what's what. How is the local drug scene? Who are the 'players', who could be the best person to team up with, you know?

But of course, the fact that he knew Jesse must've convinced him. I really think he was just entertaining the thought of the meth trade, and conveniently he had a chance to get a glimpse of it through Hank, with the ride-along. Then, when he saw Jesse, thát triggered him, it was on...

...This to me is all very understandable. I see what process this man went through and it intrigues me.

So, on to the real question. Did he have to kill those 2 guys? Was this crossing the line? - Murder is always wrong, but yes, there are some real grey areas. Can you kill a man who tried to kill you? Some might say no, it makes you just as bad as him... but not me. It depends on the situation. What happened was an unfortunate set of circumstances. It doesn't make me think less of him. You've seen it, what could he do?

The only thing that kinda threw me off, was his choice to dissolve the corpse in acid. It's really extreme for someone to do this! He didn't even review options, his mind was made up before he confronted Jesse with it. That is worrying to say the least... but at the same time, you can't deny the fact it is thé most effective way of getting the job done, so yeah... there's that. lol.

Don't you think, that when you have dissolved a human corpse in acid, there's no turning back?

I think when Walt say Jesse, that's when he figured he had a gateway (as you say) to the drug world. If he never seen Jesse fall out of that bedroom window, I wonder how Walt would have proceeded? He most likely would have gotten killed if it wasn't for Jesse's street credit, and knowledge for that matter. So, in a way, they need eachother. Their partnership is the most interesting thing to me on this show. Their relationship is so flawed... but yet, they rebound off eachother so well (until the truth comes out about Jane and Brock). I am hoping we get a flashback of Walt teaching his class, and he calls on Jesse and he pretty much makes a fool out of himself. I imagine Walter saying something along the lines of, "Apply yourself!" Something like that would be great to see.

Anyone else wonder if Badger, Combo, and Skinny Pete were in the same class as Jesse? I know Walt meets with them a few times, but they never really acknowledge him as their old chemistry teacher. So I guess they were all from a different school(s).

I already explained why i double/triple post. I have no choice, i can only browse on the PS3. Which has a very low character limit. I already addressed it on the previous page: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...st&p=1061727335

Please work with me here, i don't want to be confined to the PS3's character limit when i'm contributing to a discussion...

^ Eh, don't worry about it man. I honestly didn't know that there are a limited amount of characters you can use on the PS3 browser though. That's probably why I only use my PC to type on here, because typing on PS3 is just too damn slow... lol. If you want though, you can just keep your posts short and sweet. That way it will save you the time, and the manpower. lol.gif

OT: I will be watching Cancer Man tomorrow night after I get home from a BBQ. I've been really looking forward to this episode for some reason. This is the one where he first tells his family he has cancer, and I'm just wondering if we will catch something that we missed last time.

Here's an epic Breaking Bad trailer I found:

I like this rewatch schedule you made here, GTA-King! smile.gif

I would try my best to follow the schedule considering I'm always busy. I will always try my best to make room in my spare time for this awesome show! inlove.gif

THIS SHOW MUST COME BACK! I don't know how much I can wait.

One of the things I kind of wonder is on the second half if we will see a similar shot near the end of Walter talking to his family (himself) on the camcorder again. It was a good shot, and if they end the series similar to the way they start it, it will definitely make sense and foreshadow it. That's if Walter still has the camera...

Cancer Man

Just finished watching it. I discovered alot of interesting things I didn't catch last time I seen it. Like for instance, Krazy 8 was a police informant!!! Seriously surprised me. They mention is so quickly, no wonder I overlooked it last time. Not really a big deal though, because Walt killed him. But I thought it was interesting that Krazy 8 was the one that ratted out Emilio and Jesse (although he got away). Also, if he was a police informant, why didn't he just tell Walt in the basement? Maybe then he would have let him go. Also strange that Krazy 8 planned to stab Walt.

Let's talk about this Los Alamos chemical place Walt worked at before becoming a teacher. It would have had to been after he broke it off with Gray Matter. He mentions during the cookout that he was working there when he met Skyler, so it was before Jr. was born. I wonder why he quit working there to become a school teacher? I mean, we know very little about this Los Alamos place other than they deal with chemicals. Thought that was kinda strange. If I was to guess though, Skyler told him to quit because of all the nasty chemicals they may have to deal with, because after she find out Walt has lung cancer, she refers back to the Los Alamos chemical lab as the place he got the cancer because of all the chemicals he may have breathed in. So if the place was to have any significance, I think it would be that.

I think there may be a little foreshadowing when Hank tells Walt, "Whatever happens, I'll always take care of your family." We know that Hank gets along very well with Holly, so maybe if something bad happens to Walt (cough M60 cough) Hank and Marie will raise Holly. It's also important to note that Walt didn't want to put his family in debt, but yet... he still had no interest in cooking again. So who knows what is going through his mind at this point. As Junior says, it seems like he is just ready to give up and die. His pride begins to show in this episode though, when he turns down Skyler's idea to ask Hank and Marie for money. Speaking of money, I don't understand what Walt was doing with his drug money at the bank. Was he having it written out to a company as a check, so he could cash it in? I just didn't understand that. I hope somebody can explain that to me.

This is the first episode we see Jesse's family. Man, they are control freaks huh? No wonder Jesse is like that. I think that's why he sees Walt as a "father figure" because his real dad just doesn't understand him. He doesn't even yell at him, or tell him he could do better. Now, I am not saying Walt is better, but he gives Jesse a sense of purpose... but in a twisted way. That old drawing Jesse made of Walt was hilarious, but had deep meaning. It was an old test Jesse took in Walt's class, and Walt wrote "Ridiculous! Apply yourself!" It's like a sign for Jesse to try and turn his life in the right (?) direction and not give up. Later, we see Jesse at Walt's house (for the first time!) when he gives Walt his cut of the profits for selling their first batch. I personally think Jesse was trying to impress Walt here by letting him know he's not a failure and he didn't smoke it all up. Walt shows no signs of gratitude towards him, which is why Jesse just throws the money up in the air and walks away. Their relationship is so f*cked up, but yet so interesting! lol.gif

Loved the ending to this episode as well. Just after he talks with his wife about how he doesn't want to leave them with massive dept if he dies, and Junior telling him to just give up and die, he's driving down the road and starts coughing. He pulls over to get a hold of himself, and the douche that stole his parking spot pulls up at a gas station in front of him. I think Walt blowing his car up signifies two things. 1. He's not going to take any sh*t from anybody no more. 2. It shows how reckless he can be. I mean, he blew up a car at a GAS STATION! Alot of people could have gotten hurt.

Great episode. Can't wait until next weekend to watch and discuss Gray Matter. Really looking forward to that one! icon14.gif

I think Krazy 8 probably thought it was best to keep his yapper shut because if he told them he was an informant...it would have hurt his chances for survival.

That's probably true. But what I mean is that since he was locked up in Jesse's basement, maybe if he would have told Walt he was a police informant, he wouldn't have killed him. I don't know though... Krazy 8 was pretty desperate. If Walt hadn't broken that plate, maybe Krazy 8 wouldn't have gotten the idea to stab him with one of the shards. He might have just ratted Walt and Jesse out to the cops, so it's probably a good thing Walt did kill him, even though he didn't want to.

Walt putting the broken plate puzzle was genius, and that was the turning point for Walt. I think it would've been the same fate for Krazy 8 if admitting he was a police informant, hence why he didn't mention that but gave a quick briefing to Walt about his life.. Krazy 8 was already neck high in some sh*t, so it was either tell Walt he was an informant for you last hurrah or try to shank his ass.

I don't think Jesse parents always are uptight, snotty people. Jesse was a bad kid and I'm know his parents was a factor in that, but you can only do so much.

Walt made that check out to the oncologist. Remember, the $5.000 deposit??

And btw, are you serious about Krazy 8? If he told him he was an informant, how would that help his chances of getting out? It would make it worse for him.

Oh yeah, short and sweet. Great ep.

Ah ok, I remember him mentioning the oncologist, but I wasn't sure if he was making it out as a check or not. And yeah, you all are right about Krazy 8. My whole mindset is that if he told Walt he was a police informant, than he would help Walt out of the situation... but now that I really think about it... it wouldn't help at all. I think I just had undercover cop, and police informant mixed up... I wrote that review late at night by the way.

It's a good thing Walt did decide to kill him, because Krazy 8 knew everything about him... and he would have ratted him out to Hank.

Hey GTA-King, sorry I haven't been a part of the re-watch so far :C I've been far too busy. However, starting with 'Gray Matter', I'll be able to join in. Maybe I'll do a marathon of the first four episodes beforehand? Hmm...

Holy sh*t, I had no idea they showed the Walt Whitman book back in season 3. Wow they really plan ahead on this show. I bet a lot of other stuff from the past is going to pop up in the last 8.

Well, actually... (like i said to GTA-King) not everything is foreshadowing and thàt thought out. Don't think too much of it. I read an interview with Vince Gilligan where he actually said they (the writers) only thought of doing that (the toilet scene) way later, when they started writing S5. They like to 'write it as they go'. Did you know that Jesse was actually scheduled to die in the first few episodes? Kinda weird seeing as the whole show seems to revolve around Jesse and Walt...
