Here's what the epitaph for Walter "Heisenberg" White will say:

i think he's still trying to balance it out, but the drug business is really outweighing family life at this point.

Well... good sir... i'm afraid there isn't much balancing left to do. Clearly, the decay of his family relations is growing exponentially at this point. Many might stress the fact that a breaking point has arrived (again) and this can't continue. He must find a way to break with Skyler (and therefore the kids) in order to efficiently become the kingpin he already thinks he is. But he isn't ready, or maybe not even willing.

This and more stuff just remains to be seen. We can't speculate enough but at the same time, we will never be sure untill all is said and done cool.gif

lmao i'll quit the pedantic use of language now lol i was messing around smile.gif

I think he feels like he's already balanced it out, he's been pretty cocky ever since he blew up Gus. He has a real "Step back, I got this sh*t." type attitude this season

Oh sh*t i forgot... interesting title. Can mean anything but the first thing that's comes to mind is someone taking a flight and getting dafuq out. Maybe Walt himself (new identity) or even Skyler.

With 'Buy-Out' and 'Say my Name' (???) and now 'Gliding over All' coming up... promises some crazy sh*t, that's for sure.

What do you make of this?

I think the episode 8 title "Gliding Over All" means Walt will finally complete his transformation from a mild-mannered family man into a full-fledge meth kingpin.

^ Fixed.

And great theory. Like mentally speaking (ego-wise) gliding over all. I like it!

Or he decides to get high on his own supply! lol jk.

And that's what i meant earlier... there is a chance he already suspects it. He certainly is not the overcompensating, wise cracking idiot they often portray him as... that's to throw you off.

I love that line from Scarface. I thought of that line in season 1 when Jesse wanted to smoke the meth that they were cooking. He's come along way, and has had to deal with alot .

A nobody, meth cook/junkie > losing a girlfriend to an overdose (Aaron Paul said that scene really tore him up because he actually had a girlfriend succumb to meth) rehab > had to deal with murdering Gale > Brock's poisoning > And now, he's pretty much in the big time. Alot of knowledge has been gained. He's definitively not the same Jesse from season 1.

Anybody ever read Hank's blogs on AMC's website? They've been know to foreshadow things in future episodes. In his latest one, it really seems like they might be foreshadowing that Jr. will eventually tell Hank about what has been up with Walt. He may tell him about that time he visited Walt when he was all beat up, and that he accidentally called him Jesse. Hank says in the blog that he wants to bond more with Jr., so perhaps they are setting us up for that scenario.

EDIT: ooooo, I just found an interesting theory. It's possible that they may not be directing us towards Jr's. death, but to Holly's! If you think about it, it would be too obvious to have Jr. die by car wreck. But this possible foreshadowing suggests it will in fact be Holly that bites the bullet:

EDIT 2: The final episode of this season (part 1) being entitled "Gliding Over All" is clearly a reference to the Walt Whitman poem "GLIDING o'er all, through all, Through Nature, Time, and Space, As a ship on the waters advancing, The voyage of the soul--not life alone, Death, many deaths I'll sing..." I love this show.

Now September 2 feels so far away.

It sucks even more that we have to wait until July 2013 for the beginning of the end. Talk about sticking the knife where it hurts.

True... but at least we will get some more Breaking Bad next year... that's the way I see it anyway. the wait will be worth it. I want them to have time to make the ending as satisfying as possible.

Here's a great tribute for you guys. The music goes so well with it:

Agreed. Saul definitely balances out the show with his comic relief. I knew Bob Odenkirk was once a writer for SNL... pretty cool. He was also one of the extras in the movie The Cable Guy. icon14.gif

Some people say "Dead Freight" should have ended like this:

Not me.

Ahhh I should have seen that coming. That or the "Dear Sister" thing from SNL.

I really wonder what will happen in the upcoming episodes. I want Todd to live past this one just because now he is a really interesting character. There was a brief scene of him and Jesse talking in the trailer (he had a huge sh*t eating grin), I bet that convo will be awkward.

I hope we hear about why Walt left Gray Matter here soon. It would make sense to have a flashback to why Walt left in the upcoming episode, with all his talk about building an empire and whatnot.

Vince Gilligan said Gray Matter will be mentioned again. "Buyout" seems plausible that it would be revisited in this appropriate title.

"I'm in the empire business."

Honestly, I think Walt has been battling inner demons all his life. I personally think he left Gray Matter because he wanted all the credit. He would rather have people see him, and him alone. as the genius of Gray Matter. I mean, Walt is the kind of guy to say no to taking his friend's money for treatment, instead he chooses to earn it himself by cooking meth. I can understand that sense of pride... I myself like to earn things rather than have things given to me. But Walt's pride is on a whole other level. I admire his ambition so much... like it or not, Walt has def. made a name for himself in the drug trade. Ultimately, he turned down being just ONE of the geniuses at Gray Matter in order to be the meth KING of the drug trade. In Walt's mind, that's what he wants. That pride... gonna be his downfall.

I'm rooting for him until the end... I've made my mind up. No matter what he does, I don't care. I've rooted for him since the beginning, and it's not going to change. I always root for the bad guys... especially the ones with great ambition like Heisenberg. icon14.gif

Since it's out in the open... what do you guys think about a scene with Jesse and Skyler? We haven't seen them together since season 1. I wonder what they will talk about. Will Skyler tell him to eat his vegetables? Can't wait for this scene!

Wha... w... uhh... wait a second

is that for real? I assumed it was photoshopped.

Wow that's gonna be... awkward.

I don't know if this is the right moment to do this. it's more likely Skyler will use this to her advantage to go against Walt rather than her suddenly seeing the light about the meth business lmao

I read that it was photo shopped. I hate to be a downer, but yeah.

I was looking back to season 1 and I really enjoyed the scene where the whole family (Skylar, Hank, Marie and Jr.) sat down and talked about Walt's cancer, you know, with the talking pillow. It was a great scene. I really enjoy those sort of scenes.

I don't know where you read it was photoshopped, Linki... but it's definitely not. I think you may just be having a hard time believing Skyler and Jesse is going to have a scene together, which is understandable. Here's your proof:

Near the bottom is where they confirm the Skyler and Jesse scene.

I wonder who invites him over, do you think Walt did in an attempt to further his point about Skyler will eventually grow to like him again if Jesse could do the same even after he almost blew his brains out? Or do you think Skyler invited him as some sort of c*nty surprise since she pretty much said she'll go balls deep into the meth business with Walt as long as the kids weren't in the picture.

Link to comment

It'll be Walt I'm sure. He'll likely invite him over like it's no big deal "Hey come have dinner, me and Skyler would love you to".

Link to comment

Yeah there's no reason to think it's photoshopped. From the promo we already knew Jesse was going to be at Walt's house talking to him - so he probably stays for dinner.

Here's the descriptions for the next 3 episodes, for those that want to know:

5.06- Buyout: (Walt, Jesse and Mike) distress over the future of their business; occupational hazards weigh heavily on Jesse.

5.07- Say My Name: (Walt) takes control of business matters; (Mike) deals with the consequences of his actions.

5.08- Gliding Over All: (Walt) takes care of loose ends; (Walt) makes a dangerous decision.

I don't know if this was posted before but in the last episode when Hank asked "Flynn" if he wanted to see Heat with him, was that a foreshadowing of some kind? So far we've seen a Scarface reference where Walt said "Everyone dies in this movie" and now we get Heat. And if you've seen Heat you know how it ends. Does this mean that Hank will... it can't be as easy as that can it? Surely Gilligan is just messing with us.
