Lazlow54875
I've seen people on this board look at the mountain in the background thinking it might be Mt. Chilliad. Although no one seems to look at the alcohol market named Liquor ACE (seems like a "casino theme" to me). Not evidence by any means but by the wonderful work of Mapping of Los Santos makes it look like LA is a little smaller than the biggest possible Rockstar map. Praying for a full San Andreas. P.S. I know I could of put this GTA V Trailer Analysis [Official Thread] but have not seen this detail discussed in full. Dick Valor
This screenshot does nothing to confirm LV will be featured in V. Based on R*'s one, two-sentence press release on the game, I wouldn't count on its inclusion. R* is going for realism these days and the geography of SA was decidedly unrealistic. I doubt we'll see LV or SF, or that LV will even be considered part of the state of SA in future games. (Not that LV in V wouldn't be nice!). GTAWithStyle
if SF and LV are in the game then why the fuk does R* keep that a secret?
KrushLTx10
We never know. LV and SF may make a return. R* has said NOTHING of GTA V being JUST Southern California. They simply said what we saw in the trailer (or atleast what we think we saw)
mediocore
I don't think we'll see LV, and I don't really see how we can help map it out due to the brand of liquor store. In fact, I hope we don't get LV, but I'm holding out hope for a detailed version of SF. It was my favourite area in SA but was way too small and I don't think it will ever get it's own game. Big_Mitch_Baker
That mountain isn't Chiliad, it's the same pyramid shaped mountain in the background of the Mexican Crop Dusting scene, therefore it's near the vineyards and is likely within the Los Santos area. WhoseLine
Has anyone ever answered how long Rockstar takes between trailers yet? Weird place to ask this question, I know, but I'm just curious as to whether or not we have a potential timetable.

MotjoBoss
R* said it's Los Santos and surrounding hills and sh*t. So no other major cities! R* is not going to lie to us only to suprise us, they will lose their credibility. So what they say is what you can expect. If they wanted to keep it a secret the only thing they needed to say was: "no comment" But I think gambling will be in the game so maybe this is a small town near (the fictional) LV. Bomberlegend
I love the experts that comment on this thinking they know exactly what they have planned for GTA V. Until stated otherwise, LV and SF might be in the game. They might not, we don't know yet.
SocalsZHP
Don't mean to start speculation but funny thing is there is an actual Ace Liquor is San Diego. Theres also one in Long Beach. This liquor store could be anywhere from Palm Springs to (I hope) Las Venturas, but my hopes low at the moment. JoshGTAfreak
I have no idea why they wouldn't disclose if they had extra cities, but I haven't entirely ruled it out. One idea could be, maybe they don't know if the two cities will be included yet?
Meezarawcks
posted this elsewhere but seemed like it could be viable here as well: So did a little digging on GTASanAndreas.net news archive and found this little piece of info: The R* Webmaster has just sent out the official game description for San Andreas, along with the screenshots they have on the official site: "Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas... a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption. Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers. Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster. On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets." Now apparently this was the official statement given by R* when the game was announced. If we can take anything from history here R* says "entire state of San Andreas". If you match this up to the current statement for GTA V it says: We are very proud to officially announce that Grand Theft Auto V is in full development. Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created. A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California. Make of it what you will but the speculation can go in either direction. Taking a look at both statements though makes you think R* would have said "whole state of San Andreas" and not " Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches"
Algonquin Assassin
A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California People can say what they like, but this pretty much says SF and LV will NOT be in GTA V. Since when was San Francisco (San Fierro) and Las Vegas (Las Venturas) situated in Southern California? I'm not even from the U.S and I even know that. I don't know why R* would secretly hold SF and LV in the air. It was different when SA came out, because no one knew what the state of SA consisted of. We've been to SF and LV, so there doesn't need to be some secret reveal. If SF and LV were in the game they would've been hinted at in the official press release with something like "a modern re-imagining of California and Nevada" or something to that extent. I know R* didn't explicitly say they wont be in the game, but it looks like there's far more evidence to support their exclusion rather than their inclusion. The above quote from R* themselves is far more evidence than anyone can produce on here.

Tipper
R* is not going to lie to us only to suprise us, they will lose their credibility. How exacly would they lose their credibility. On the contrary, I think it would be a genius marketing move. Fans got excited once at the announcement (since we had been waiting a long time, I guess nearly all of us were satisfied with the trailer), if they surprise us with two more cities, fans will get excited a second time. Now I do realise that as of right now we're likely to have only LS as a major city, but we can't rule out SF and LV completely (espacially after the latest interview with the evasive answer regarding the location)

R* can't go back on their word. I believe they chose those words carefully as not to get peoples' hopes up, but some are still holding onto the belief SF and LV will be in it. I know R* are known to be vague at times, but to me it was made pretty clear what the general geography would be of GTA V. R* can't go back on their word You mean the people who told us that LCS and VCS would never get released on PS2, that they didn't have anything regarding V one week before the announcement and that TLAD and TBOGT were exclusive to the Xbox 360 can't lie to us? Plus it'd be a "good" lie, since we would find out there is even more than we thought. It'd be all positive.
