Its home is in Tivoli Gardens in Jamaica, but it primarily operates in Liberty city and vice city where it is one of the most powerful posses.There are differing reports on the origin of the name. One theory is that it comes from the promises of its associated politicians to shower supporters with gifts.Another view is that it is a reference to the gang showering opponents with bullets. The gang has a strong international presence among expatriate Jamaican communities in North America. In the United States a branch was founded by Vivian Blake and it had a prominent role in the Liberty city drug trade. The gang also has a large presence in parts of Canada. "In 1989, former Shower Posse member Charles “Little Nut” Miller was charged with drug trafficking but agreed to testify against other gang leaders in order to receive immunity. In his testimony – in which he implicated himself in nine murders - Miller revealed his connection to the JLP as a “political enforcer,” as well as to the CIA, going as far to state that “the United States made me what I am”(Newsweek, July 13th, 1998)." The Russian Mafia or Bratva often transliterated as Mafiya — are names designating a diverse group of organized crime syndicates originating in the former Soviet Union, Russia and the CIS. The Winter Hill Gang is a structured confederation of Liberty city, predominantly Irish-American with a small Italian-American faction.Its members have included notorious gangsters Howie Winter ("Howie"), James McLean ("Buddy"), James J. Bulger ("Whitey"), and hit man Stephen Flemmi ("The Rifleman"). They were most influential from 1965 under the rule of McLean and Winter until the takeover led by Bulger in 1979.While Winter Hill Gang members are alleged to have been involved with most typical organized-crime-related activities, they are perhaps most known for fixing horse races in the northeastern United States[citation needed]. Twenty-one members and associates, including Winter, were indicted by federal prosecutors in 1979. The Bonanno crime family is one of the "Five Families" that dominates organized crime activities in liberty City, within the nationwide criminal phenomenon known as the Mafia. Founded and named after Joseph Bonanno, the Bonanno family was the first of the Liberty city families to be kicked off the Commission, due to allegations that the family was actively dealing heroin and the inner family fighting for control of the leadership. Later, the family faced shaky leadership, with acting boss Carmine Galante being murdered in 1979 on the order of imprisoned boss Philip Rastelli, as well as two major setbacks: in 1981, they learned that an FBI agent calling himself Donnie Brasco had infiltrated their ranks; in 2004, boss Joseph Massino, who previously brought the family back to respectable stature among the families and back on the Commission, became a government informant.But they are regaining their power every day and are know not to be messed with. The Latin Kings street gang was formed in Los Santos in the 1940s and consisted predominantly of Mexican and Puerto Rican males. Originally created with the philosophy of overcoming racial prejudice and creating an organization of "Kings," the Latin Kings evolved into a criminal enterprise operating throughout the United States under two umbrella factions—Motherland, also known as KMS or King Motherland Santos, and Bloodline Liberty City. All members of the gang refer to themselves as Latin Kings and, currently, individuals of any nationality are allowed to become members. Latin Kings associating with the Motherland faction also identify themselves as "Almighty Latin King Nation (ALKN)," and make up more than 160 structured chapters operating in 158 cities in 31 states. The membership of Latin Kings following KMS is estimated to be 20,000 to 35,000. The Bloodline was founded by Luis Felipe in the Liberty State correctional system in 1986. Latin Kings associating with Bloodline also identify themselves as the "Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation (ALKQN)." Membership is estimated to be 2,200 to 7,500, divided among several dozen chapters operating in 15 cities in 5 states. Bloodline Latin Kings share a common culture and structure with KMC and respect them as the Motherland, but all chapters do not report to the Chicago leadership hierarchy. The gang's primary source of income is the street-level distribution of powder cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, and marijuana. Latin Kings continue to portray themselves as a community organization while engaging in a wide variety of criminal activities, including assault, burglary, homicide, identity theft, and money laundering. The United Blood Nation, simply called the East Coast Bloods is primarily a street gang formed in 1993 within the Liberty City jail system.GMDC was used to segregate problem inmates from the rest of the detention center. Prior to this time period, the Latin Kings were the most prevalent and organized gang in the LC jail system. The Latin Kings, a Hispanic Latino street gang, were targeting African-American inmates with violence. These African-American inmates, organized by some of the more violent and charismatic inmates, formed a protection group which they called the United Blood Nation, in imitation of the West Coast gang. Though they closely resemble the Bloods found on the West Coast, the United Blood Nation or East coast Bloods is unaffiliated with them, and therefore didn’t originally share any of their rivalries or their allies. Several of the leaders of this recently created prison gang formed nine New Blood sets (Nine Trey Gangsters, One Eight Trey, Mad Stone Villains, Valentine Bloods, Gangster Killer Bloods, Hit Squad Brims, Blood Stone Villains, Sex Money Murder) to recruit in their neighborhoods across New York and New Jersey. By 1996, thousands of members of the Blood street gang were establishing themselves as a formidable force among gangs and continued a steady drive for recruitment. At this time, the Bloods were more violent than other gangs but much less organized. Numerous slashings (razor blade or knife attacks) were reported during robberies and discovered to be initiations into the Bloods. This ritual became the trademark for the Bloods. Bloods recruited throughout the East Coast and began spreading their drug networks rapidly. Blood gangs can now be found across the entire East Coast of the USA, as well as further inland in the South and Midwest.
