Mati
Well, this is mainly a problem with my xbox, but nobody responded to my post in the xbox topic so I'll post it here. Not sure if this is the right place for such questions. Currently, we have a wireless internet connection. Daily, a total of 3 laptops are sucking internet from it. My laptop always has a weak connection. I can be on the internet and it isn't that slowly. My DL speed is 200 kbs But sometimes, my internet page loads for an minute, then I get an error message that I can't connect or the page doesn't respond. When I refresh, it gets back to normal. That's not such a huge problem, but it sucks when you're at gaming and get disconnected every 10 minutes. Is there any way to make my internet connection better? Finn 7 five 11
Well since no one has given you any help, because it happens on your laptop and your xbox, its not just the xbox or XBL, it is your ISP, or you router. I know little about routers so lets start with the ISP - What is your experience with your ISP? - How long have you had the current ISP,? - How long has the disconnection problem been present? - Who iS your ISP, are they known as reliable? -Do you have any friends with the same ISP nearby, do they have the same problems If the issue has been present as long as you have had the ISP well it could still be the router, unless you were with someone else before and it worked fine. Slamman
I had problems while in RDR MP, and man, nothing sucks then losing your session enjoyment, the key is obviously devoting the whole of your BROADBAND to the online gaming system. If you look in the XBL dashboard, further hints come by way of the dashboard section on hints and tricks, all free help at the ready, assuming you're online I guess?!? haha
Rebel
Where is your router located in the house, and where abouts are these laptops/Xbox located in the house when in use? If they are all on wireless connections it could be due to the fact that your routers signal is lost around the house depending where abouts the others are. I had the same problem with my 360 when it was upstairs in the far end of the house compared to where my router is, it would always tell me it couldn't connect to the internet. The problem has been solved since I moved my 360 back into my bedroom. Try using a wired connection to a laptop or the 360 to see if that makes any difference? If it does then its probably down to weak signal from router to machine.
Wolf68k
Move your laptop closer to the modem/router to see if that makes a difference. If it does try moving the router to a different place in whatever room it's in. If the router has antennas that stick out, you can make a DIY dish that will help direct the signal in the direction you want it to go. A nice video on how to make DIY antennas and boosters is here http://revision3.com/systm/surfer
Mati
Thanks guys, I think I've fixed the problem for now. It's more of an xbla related issue, related with the NAT type and such. I also changed some setting regarding to my account settings. I'll try out what you suggested though. Edited January 4, 2012 by Mati
