jayk1
hello i'm on the second island storywise (i think about 51 missions passed) and i want to complete this game 100% . so now my question is, should i first do everything else, or can i complete the main storyline already? i've done the rampages, hidden packages etc after completing the portland missions and it was really hard sometimes because i had so many enemies from the storyline. i still need to do stunt jumps (shouldn't be a problem), rc missions, offroad missions, import/export and some payphone missions. can i do these things without a problem after completing the storyline? Andreaz1
Everything is still available after completing the main story so you can complete that first if you want.
Arsen Vitiuk
I would advise you do those things earlier in the game, before the gangs start hating you (I see some already do now, so some things will be tougher for you). You can go on and finish the storyline, but the problem is, after the last mission the Colombians will be walking around with AK47s, and that will make things damn hard. Also, try to complete King Courtney's UZI Rider mission after you do as much as you can on Portland and King Courtney's Kingdom Come mission after you've done as much as you can on Staunton. Just a friendly advice, but still, it's your call.

Arsen Vitiuk
Well, good luck getting 100% then! It's your first playthough for 100%, so have the every slightest bit of fun there!
fireguy109
Before investing any more time, make sure that you did all of Luigi, Toni, and Joey's missions on Portland before you did "Last Requests", or 100% will be impossible. Make sure that you do Kenji's mission string before Donald Love's as well.

As well as Asuka's mission "Two-Faced Tanner" before Donald's mission "Grand Theft Aero" As to Portland missions, @fireguy, Toni's missions are OBLIGATORY to progress to "Bomb Da Base: Act I", so these are out of question. jayk1
yes, luckily i did know these things before attempting the 100%, but thank you. edit: still, i would like to complete the story . are these groups that will get better weapons / become enemies when playing the storyline going to intervene on any of the rc / offroad / payphone missions? because if not, i guess i could still complete the story line and it wouldn't affect me much, because i've done the rampages, hidden packages and vehicle missions (vigilante, firefighter etc) anyway, and the stunt jumps shouldn't be a problem. Arsen Vitiuk
yes, luckily i did know these things before attempting the 100%, but thank you. Good thing you did, The first time I was playing on my own, I had to take time to figure out that these missions 'seal off'... Was lucky enough! The first time I ever played the game I got 100%. jayk1
it's my first time playing through the game, but not my first gta (played vice city, san andreas, gta iv + tlad + tbogt all to 100%) and gta 3 was missing, so i had to change that ^^. and i think it's actually a really fun game, but i can definitely see that it was rockstar's first attempt at a 3d gta. a lot of things haven't really been thought through and aren't well optimized, but i guess that's the way it works in an "old school" game. the only thing that really bothers me is the missing ingame map, i get lost so easily in this game. oh btw, could you answer my question from the edit in my post above please? i was a little too slow with editing i guess and you already posted in the thread again ^^
Arsen Vitiuk
The RC missions are the only one where the enemy gangs won't be able to get you. Anything other than that - no matter what you do - a mission of any kind or a free roam, the gangs will shoot to kill. The only exception is D-Ice's mission "Rigged To Blow" - during this mission no gangs will hate you.

Arsen Vitiuk
are they placed so that these missions become pretty much impossible, once the gangs have better weapons / become your enemies, or can you still do these missions without a lot of problems, even if you have finished the storyline? Ah, so that was the question? Well, not all of them. Patriot Playground can be a hell if you're not careful enough and will be driving close to the road in Saint Marks; Gripped can be hard as well, because you will be driving a portion along the road in Cedar Grove with the Colombians shooting you - even worse if you completed the last mission, as the Colombians will be carrying AK47s instead of Pistols About the Payphone missions, El Burro's missions will be hard even to access after King Courtney's "UZI Rider" mission because the Diablos will hate you after this one. Not to tell that you've possibly already made it much worse if you haven't completed El Burro's missions "Turismo" and "Big'N'Veiny" before "Sayonara Salvatore", as in "Turismo" you will be racing around Portland, crossing Saint Marks twice along the course of the race, and in "Big'N'Veiny" you will have to drive a van around Saint Marks, and with all the Mafia... Although, progressing through the story has the other side of the medal. For example, completing King Courtney's mission "Bling-Bling Scramble" will be a little easier after Donald's mission "Grand Theft Aero" because after this mission the Colombians will be wiped out from Fort Staunton. Hope this helps you enough. And sorry for spoilers, I just don't know what you've missed, and I don't want to spoil it for you.
